The Warlocks Guide to WotLK Reputations

The introduction of Wrath of the Lich King saw many new factions added to the game. Blizzard however, wanting to move away from the dreaded 'rep grind', introduced a new system Championing System, allowing people to raise reputation faster on 4 of the new 16 Factions.

What is Championing?

By putting on a factions Tabard of your choosing and killing mobs that yields reputation inside a level 80 dungeon on normal or heroic mode you will gain faction instead of the faction associated with the dungeon.

What Factions does Championing work with?
Championingdoesn't work for all Factions, however Blizzard may change this in the future. If you do not wear a champion tabard, your reputation will raise for either Horde Expedition or Alliance Vanguard, depending on your faction.
  • Kirin Tor
  • Knights of the Ebon Blade
  • The Argent Crusade
  • The Wyrmrest Accord

What are the Reputation gains?

  • Non-elite: Normal - 0, Heroic - 1-2
  • Elite trash: Normal - 5, Heroic - 15
  • Super trash: Normal - 10, Heroic - 30
  • Boss: Normal - 50, Heroic - 250

Kirin Tor
Kirin Tor is a sect of wizards, stationed in Dalaran, that study and record all of humanity's magic and artifacts. They are also charged with the protection of the city, but once failed to prevent Archimonde from destroying the city, under rule of Prince Arthas, who was summoned by defected Kirin Tor member Kel'Thuzad. The remaining members of the Kirin Tor were determined to salvage the ruins and rid the city of the remaining undead and reclaim their once magnificent city. The members of Kirin Tor are now cautious about who is let into their organization in fear of more defections.

Argent Crusade
Argent Crusade is an organization created from the union of the Argent Dawn and the Knights of the Silver Hand. The initial Crusade was formed shortly after the Battle for Light's Hope Chapel, as played out during the death knight quest The Light of Dawn, in which Highlord Tirion Fordring — leader of the reformed Silver Hand — reclaimed (and evidently purified) the Ashbringer during a confrontation with the Lich King.

Tirion Fordring handpicked every member in the Argent Crusade in order to avoid Cult of the Damned Infiltration, or Lich King spies.

The Kalu'ak
The Kalu'ak is a faction consisting of the tuskarr, a tough yet kind-natured nomadic race. Deriving their livelihood from fishing and whaling, they make even their enemies marvel at their ability to catch the most difficult sea animals. Their main settlement is Kaskala, which can be found in the Borean Tundra. Smaller branches can be found at Kamagua within the Howling Fjord, and Moa'ki Harbor in Dragonblight.

Their settlements are often under fierce attack by the Kvaldir and Gurlocs, and welcome any new Northrend allies who would come to their aid.
