How To Drain Soul, A Screenshot Tutorial
Edit 4/23/09: ForteXorcist cast bar takes all pushback into account (currently, this is the only mod that shows both pushback and tick marks at the same time). I have seen a lot of heartburn regarding Drain Soul and how to properly execute the spell in a boss encounter. Because of this, I would like to show you exactly how to setup two mods which will help improve your, Affliction Warlock, DPS dramatically. First and foremost, download and install the two mods... I'd like to add that if you're using Mik's Scrolling Combat Text you can configure it to provide its own Drain Soul warning when the mob is below 25%. I'm not sure if Parrot or SCT can perform the same trick, but for MSBT users, - Open up MSBT config, go to the Trigger tab - Add New Trigger, input the message that will display when the trigger is satisfied. - Click on the gear icon to adjust the trigger conditions. --- Main Event: Health Change --- Unit ID = Target --- Threshold is less than 25 --- Unit Reaction = Hostile The only problem is that you're going to get this message coming up on any mob, which does get annoying. The trigger exception "Trivial Target not equal to True" should hopefully fix this problem, but I'll have to test it the next time I raid. |

Hi. I wasn't sure where to post this bit of info (if this is not the place please feel free to remove/move this post)... also I am not sure if it always has worked this way of if this is a change/bug coming with 3.1 but yesterday I was trying my rotation with the training dummy an SW and I soul drained... and got a soul shard back.. I did it again, and got 2 soul shards.. the third time didn't give me one, but the fourth did again... so I just filled my bags with tons of shards... Has it always been this way? Is this a bug? Are our shard farming days over and now we just must go to the closests dummy and suck it's wooden soul like if there is no tomorrow? |
