Ten Reasons to Play a Warlock

Because threads on the official forums tend to dissapear after a period of time, I am going to post a copy of this here for safe keeping, it really is a fantastic read for all us Warlocks. If anyone knows the author and would like to direct them to this site, perhaps we can get them to register and post it under their own name

Ten Reasons to Play a Warlock

The first reason why should be first on this list,
We summon up demons with a flick of the wrist.
They obey our commands and fulfill every wish,
Like letting us win at Old Maid and Go Fish.

Number two in the rank is quite mean I'll admit,
Our curses and fears give casters a fit.
We blast them all day as they shiver and shake,
If we run low on mana they've lots we can take.

I think my favorite so far is the third reason why,
It's just too dang hard to get us to die.
Try as you might it's unlikely we'll fall,
If we start to get weak we'll Death Coil you all.

Number four is next so listen right up,
A great PvP pet is our Felhunter pup.
You might think that's not much and you'll soon be the winner,
Until you see all your spells he's having for dinner.

Should I mention the fifth, its not good, it's not great,
When asked by the group we can summon a mate.
If you beg us too much well start to get pissed,
And type in your name on our long ignore list.

Number six in the count keeps our gold in the bank,
We're not gear dependent like some poor hapless tank.
Your mounts cost a lot, 'bout a ninety gold fee,
I'm happy to say that our Felsteeds are free.

Number seven has arrived and it's finally here,
I've wrestled with this for almost a year.
Our Succubus pet makes the teen boys just whimper,
Beg all you want, I'm not going to pimp her.

Eight is up next, and I'll cover our gear,
Our epics are great, dissent I won't hear.
Our Robe of the Void is sure pretty neat,
Only issue I have is that I can't see my feet.

Nine after eight and it's merits I'll chime,
Don't look for a priest when it's group forming time.
Why heal your wounds when you start to get sick,
Our health and soul stones will work just as quick.

Ten is the last of a long fruitful list,
I'm sure that some of my points have been missed.
I know that the 'lock is the best in the game,
You can play something else, but that's totally lame.

Oh well.. Priceless. Thanks for sharing Brood Mother Akasha, I don't go near official forums where the good people get to live in hell's flames, and the mobile flame throwers make it to good graces of people.. Reminds me of my high school times : /

edit:spelling.

My guess would be that the official warlock forums give "birth" to something great about once a year.

Let's see what we'll read in 2007...

Re: Ten Reasons to Play a Warlock

Funny story. Just for giggles I typed my name into Goggle and got several hits (surprisingly they were all for this toon - I guess nobody else has ever though of this name for anything...wonder why ). I was clicking on the links to see where they would lead and found this site, very nice.

If you haven't checked the thread for that poem lately, it's been given a stickey by Blizzard and there are a ton of really good poems by a lot of different 'locks (and a few non-locks) from many servers so check it out.

Re: Ten Reasons to Play a Warlock

The truest truth about the warlock I've ever seen

PS:The author failed to include that warlocks have cool staffs and a very useful trinket for quest revards at high level

I don't like the warlock forum on that site, too many "nerf warlocks" and "Warlocks are OP" threads and way to many flames to the warlocks defneding there class, its annoying as the people who complain or mages/priest mostly in which we are kind of like there anti-class we kill casters.

Anyways sorry about the little /rant

Love the poem .
