Re: Does haste compensate for lack of crit?

There are some important haste thresholds to get to: For firelocks, squeezing one more incinerate inside an immolate. For shadows, squeezing a fourth* SB inside the 12sec ISB timer. After those thresholds, haste remains constant until you can stack enough to cast one more spell between a noncasting time where you're running, feared, silenced, sucking up a potion, or trinketing. *Edit. Thanks levinho. Brain was apparently somewhere else. Last edited by Navellynte; August 14, 2008 at 04:36 PM.. |

Re: Does haste compensate for lack of crit?
This has turned into a mirror of the other thread. However, the answer to the question is not for BT/SWP locks. Nor should locks in either of those points in progression have a hard time deciding which pieces to pick. Again the locks most likely to have an issue with lack of crit and the possibility of picking up some haste as an alternative are those in Kara/T4-5/Badge gear. In this progression you should be concerned with raid dps, which means ISB upkeep and haste does little for that. Thus, the answer to the question posed by the title of this thread is simply NO haste does not compensate for a lack of crit. Haste does increase personal dps more than crit but it is important to balance stats. Never ever try to make up for a serious lack of one stat by heavily stacking another. It simply doesn't work that way. Edit* " For shadows, squeezing a fifth SB inside the 12sec ISB timer." Ummmmm. . . 4 charges. |

On paper, its a better start far earlier than that....in reality then unless you can squeeze out more bolts then yes, its not worthwhile.
