Actually I'm running a druid right now and not a lock, but anyway, I went with the oracles. First off I don't think the rep rewards are all that great except for a chance at a mount; and I think the frenzyhearts are a bunch of jerks (actually I would use stronger language, but it's not proper here). Personally I think the oracles are rather sweet and when you do that quest where you have to rescue some from the scourge it just rips your heart out. So I went with personal feelings rather than any tangible thing I could get. |

I started off with the Oracles. I made it to exalted with them, and after getting the same tickbird pet 4 times in a row, I decided to switch to go with the Frenzyheart. I made it exalted with them as well, and found that the only thing I was getting out of the jar of ooze was this Frenzyheart brew, that could turn myself into a Wolvar, I kind of gave up doing the dailies. Completing the Frenzyheart dailies were a heck of a lot easier to do, I found. I could take out large groups of Oracles much quicker than taking out groups of Wolvars. A guildie actually managed to get the mount from the Oracles egg, which was quite cool to see.

I just did the quests for this last night, and decided upon the Oracles. A chance at the mount is just too good to pass up.

I have three 80's, the warlock and mage went with Oracles for the chance at the mount. Neither has one, despite upwards of 30 mysterious eggs, although the pets sell reasonably well on my server. The paladin made revered with the oracle to buy an egg and the JC pattern, before switching to frenzyheart for the jagged forest emerald JC pattern, which was much in demand on my server. The frenzy quest to kill oracles is also a good source of clam meat for dalaran clam chowder. |

I'm going oracles, because I like pets. Neither has gear that interests me enough to go one side or the other, so that's my deciding factor.

I decided to reply to these posts just to point that neither faction have some super reward to give (except you have a profession that benefits from their designs-and if you are jewel crafter you may want all the designs you can get).I got the mount on my Huntress and all the vanity pets (i also sold some of the rare Proto-Drake Whelp to Auction House) but now am almost exalted with Frenzyheart and close to get the achievement.As for my gnome Warlock i choose to go with Oracles (am engineer and am happy with my mount so i don't care about another mount) simply because when you are grinding the dailies the quotes of the "Big Tongues" (hehe sorry,seems i made too many dailies for the Frenzyheart already) are very funny to watch/read,they make me giggle every time even is my third time i am doing dailies for them (Druid/Hunter/Warlock all 80's and all started with Oracles.Druid and Huntress already are Exalted).So what i was trying to say is that if you are only after the Green Proto-Drake,get ready to spent many weeks before you get one (if you are unlucky like me,took me over 30 weeks till i got mine),if on the other hand have the Jewel Craft profession or want the achievement "Mercenary of Sholazar" i firmly suggest to raise both factions (once per time) to maxed.Both factions,in the end of the day have nothing to offer (Pets/Mount/Designs and Disguise excluded) that will last long,all of their trinkets/gear will be replaced soon and if you don't care about the things i exclude or won't benefit from their designs (as profession) you may better want to do some more profitable daily reputation grinding quests.Have fun all. |
