Affliction & Destro Guides
I wanted to request a best in slot guide for 53/0/18 and 3/13/55 and 0/13/58. Currently I have 53/0/18 affliction spec as my main and 3/13/55 destro as my offspec. I am relatively new to WoW and wanted a guide to make sure I was gearing my lock correctly for both specs. I'd really appreciate it if someone would take out the time to do that. Thanks. |

Go to the Warlock forum at Elitist Jerks and look for the "DOTs and you" affliction spec thread Dots and you: The Affliction Warlock Thread - Elitist Jerks". The first message has what you want. The section titled "Gear" has links to Loot Rank queries that were used to generate the gear list. You can tweak the queries to fit you circumstances. (i.e. I took Ulduar 25 and Malygos 25 off the instance list since I won't be running them anytime soon.) The destro thread ("Mage Equivalent" The Mage Equivalent: The Destruction Warlock - Elitist Jerks) doesn't have a gear guide, but you can find information there and in the simulationcraft post 3.1 thread (Simulationcraft on post-3.1 specs - Elitist Jerks) info to tweak the gear ratings for destro, though I think the weights from affliction will work. Now, I've not done the math, but using only "best in slot" will probably have you end up with too much hit and not enough spellpower, haste and crit. So, you have to play around with gear choices. And it's not obvious from the affliction gear list, but some of the items that are adjacent are only 1-2 DPS apart, but some are a lot higher. The lootrank queries will have that info. |

Ty for those links. I was surprised by some of the rankings he had for the gear. I will have to start collecting some of the other naxx 25 gear that is better than my tier. Hopefully someone will have a destro gear guide coming out soon. Having a list of gear rankings is a lot easier than doing the calculations on my own. Thanks again. |
