Re: The final debate – Robe, Staff or Trinket?
Well.. I'l try and give my 2c here about why I CHOOSE it, and why I would recommend it, but keep in mind I play on a RP-server and I get my RP "on" quite a few times ![]() But I choose the Soul Harvester (staff) because it was the best upgrade for me at that time.. And some may say that it gets replaced as soon as you get in outlands and that might be true, but there's only one other item that looks like it, and for a warlock the Grim Reaper look is probably the best RP look there is, and as I've said I like RP'ing and strolling around Org in my RP outfit with this weapon, and I STILL get comments on how good it looks. Some would say the Abyss Shard (trinket) is the best to choose because it has no other item that does anything like that in-game. And they're right, but I never use my Voidwalker and if I do it's in arena for a sacrifice and then I don't need the shard/mana to summon it anyways. But if you are sure that you are going to use your Voidwalker when you are in outlands then I would say go for the trinket, but if there's the smallest doubt in your mind I would say go for the looks and take the staff, I did and I have never looked back and regretted it. Just my 2c. Hope you find this information usefull

i chose the trinket...sure you can get a nice staff or robe, but these will be replaced very soon in outlands. the trinket is forever, there's no equivalent.

Re: The final debate – Robe, Staff or Trinket?
I went with the staff. WHY? By the time I hit 50 BC was about 2 months off and the new PvP system had just come out and I wanted to PVP with my friends, I had no intention of doing instances/quests/raiding at 60. And it is a very nice staff and will hold you till outlands, even then just put it in the bank since its the only 'staff' that looks like it. The trinket honestly, I have never said 'damn I wish I would have gone with it'. 20 Soul shards is plenty and theres rarely a time that Im low/out. |

Taking the trinket was a no-brainer for me, I still use it on a daily basis. |

As has already been mentioned the trinket is a one in a life time unique item. Both the Scythe and the Robe(shit anyway) can be replaced. With the trinket you get 1 free soulshard every 30 minutes, and that has came in useful many a time. |

Grabbed the staff as well, looks to good and was too handy for that level to pass around. There may be no other trinket like that around, but the same goes for the staff. I would recommend the staff, throw on a nice enchant to give it a good glow, and enjoy it while running around killing your foes with evilish laughter and that damn good looking scythe. |

Re: The final debate – Robe, Staff or Trinket?
i voted for the staff. the trinket is unique, and you wont find anything like it, thats true. what it comes down to is whether or not the staff or the robe are useful to you at that point in time. for me, the staff was a huge upgrade from the hypnotic blade i still had equipped. i will carry the staff until i find something better, that is guaranteed. think to yourself, are you going to use the trinket? and if so, how often? is it going to sit in your bag taking up a lot of space? how useful is one free vw to you? can you imagine a time when a free soul shard every 30 min is going to make or break whats going on? how often do you find yourself shardless and unable to get a shard? lol, do you have "zomg i need a vw right now!" moments? if you do, then maybe you should take the trinket. the only time i can think of that the trinket would be useful would be if i was helping a lowbie friend, and couldn't get a shard. but id also stock up on shards for that occassion. i would rather have the staff, being as i'm going to benefit from it indefinitely, every day until i find something better, ive had it for 6 levels now, probably will for the next 4, thats a lot of use if you ask me! if i had gone with the trinket id have something of very little use to me on an everyday basis, sure i may use it 10 levels from now but probably very rarely. plus the staff is just awesome looking, youll probably hold onto it for purely aesthetic reasons in the future. who doesn't want to look like the grim reaper?
