Re: Gearing Your Warlock (2.4 Edition)

Question :
*Hands 1 : shadow spells +39 (39*76=2964 dps)
*Hands 2 : magical spells +26, spell crit strike +22(26*76+22*51=3098)

Right?

Just asking cos the guide says : spell damage:76 and shadow damage:76.
Don't understand why there are we have a spell damage and a shadow damage if they are equal

Tx in advance

what would you rate the cape that drops from the timed event in ZA as? its called Shadowcasters drape? +22 stam +20 int +25spell haste +27 spell damage. It seems pretty good not sure if i should use it over the ruby cape off prince

Well in the model I used, shadow damage is all that's used since the only spells used in the 0/21/40 rotation are Shadowbolt and Life Tap. If you have Immolate in your rotation, having more shadow damage than fire damage isn't such a big deal. It shouldn't turn you away from a superior enchant (Soulfrost) or a superior item (Nethervoid Cloak). But again, shadow damage equals spell damage in the model I used since no fire spells are used.

Yeah I must have missed the ZA cloak. I'd say it's about equal to Prince's cape. I have it at 3852 DP, so it's a little under Prince's cloak. However, I undervalued haste slightly, so it might bump it a little ahead of Prince's cloak. Either way, they're pretty much sidegrades, though I personally like Prince's because of the passive hit.

Re: Gearing Your Warlock (2.4 Edition)

Hi,
Tx for answering all my noob question so soon Canadianpimp !
I still have a few though
Like : The guide says : Socket Glowing Nightseye (+5 spell damage + 6 Stamina) =430 DP. Shouldn't that have to be 5*76=380?

Or Blood-Cursed Shoulderpads: +18 spell hit, +25 spell crit, +55 spell damege
(18*100+25*51+55*76=7255). The guide says 7225. Am I missing something or are that juist typos?

Do you always use for a yellow socket Great Dawnstone (=800 dp) , or for a blue Glowing Nightseye (=430 dp) to calculate an armor's dp?
What do you use for a red socket?

Tx in advance

Re: Gearing Your Warlock (2.4 Edition)

Yeah...stupid typos on my part. This is how I did gems. Pretty much in every socket I assumed you were using a Great Dawnstone (mostly because it was easy to calculate). If the socket bonus though was good and none of the sockets were blue (say 2 red sockets with a bonus of 4 spell damage), I'd use either Veiled Noble Topazes or Great Dawnstones.

That question belongs in a different forum, man. This is only about gear.

Sunflare drops off of the last boss in the 25 man raid Sunwell. If you have to ask where it drops you'll probably never own one. Blade of Wizardry is ranked 17th on the list of 1handers.

I like pie.

Great job!!!!!

Just remember, this is a PVE guide. I really doesn't apply to anyone doing pvp.

Re: Gearing Your Warlock (2.4 Edition)

[quote=Canadianpimp;169531]Well think about it. In FSW boots the highest DP combination with blue gems you could have is 57 damage and 16 hit (assuming you weren't hit capped). Now look at Hydross' boots. 2 more hit and 3 more damage...which is 426 more DP. Not a major upgrade...but it is better, and it comes with more stamina/intellect.

Just to say i did the same calculations some time ago and totally agree, in fact in my calculations i put 2 +8 spell hit to get to a total of

+16 spell hit
+57 spell damage

As well. When you consider the DKP cost... its probably not worth it for an extra 2 hit and damage.

Save the dkp for the solarian wand ^^

/thumbs up for the good guide , cpimp
