Re: Gearing Your Warlock (2.4 Edition)
Oh my gosh! THE FARMING! I'm really interested in the Spellstrike hood. I'm a nublet to Warlocks (I just learned about spell damage and spell hit!) so this helped a lot.

Re: Gearing Your Warlock (2.4 Edition)
I can't believe you wrote this! I had no idea it was you that wrote these guides on here. You definitely help out alot of locks. I remember reading this one in particular when I was first hitting 70 on my lock. I'm gonna have to get your autograph in game.

Re: Gearing Your Warlock (2.4 Edition)
I apologize if this has already been posted. 48 pages is a lot to go through in one sitting (while on break from work!).
C-Pimp, I follow your guide like a "bible" and has helped my lock out a great deal. I hold great value in this guide. My question is while this is just a great guide for DPS value, why does WoWhead rate some of the gear horribly? Example is Belt of Blasting. They have some pretty bad gear rated higher than it. I would not say bad but not in the same league. Our guild was talking about wow-heroes site and how it rates your gear and how you are rated in your guild. I would be much higher if it does not go off of the wowhead levels for each piece. Not that I really care about how I rate but we have been talking about it all week long. I have done a lot of research and debated with many of warlocks about your guide. I don't care what they all say, I am sticking by your guide. On a side note as well, I have been reading alot of the haste vs. the world posts since I am starting to may my way through that part of the game now. Very interesting posts and view points of when to start stacking haste and such. Time will tell.... Thanks for all time you put into this guide. Now if only the rest of the "classes" would catch up to this site and your guide. |

Re: Gearing Your Warlock (2.4 Edition)
MookMook, Maybe I can help a little explain a few things (most of this written on the fly, I'm at work too!)
@gear ratings system. One thing that comes to mind is how high Warlocks have to value +spell hit. Compared to other classes, we need tons of hit (202). So items that have a lot of spell hit are going to help warlocks a lot more, just because we need such a higher number to reach the cap. Mages, Spriest, and Ele Shammys can de-value spell hit compared to us, and put more emphasis on damage, haste. So a piece of gear may be itemized "better" with damage and crit (thus a hight rating), but for warlocks the piece that has hit on it to go w/ the damage and crit helps us a lot more. @Stacking Haste. I think people get confused about "stacking". If you want raw numbers, I would say self buffed 1200 damage, 25% crit, and hit capped. But that's not to say you shouldn't pick up any haste gear before that. The Guardians neck, the badge braces, and badge offhand all have haste on them and are very good at any level of gear. Also, if you have yellow slots you need to fill for a socket bonus, and are already hit capped, gem for haste/damage over crit/damage. Just be smart about your upgrades, don't downgrade an item just to "stack" haste, but don't be scared to gem for haste and pick up relatively easy items that have haste on them (70 badges and 15k honor for the 3 haste items I mentioned before). |

Re: Gearing Your Warlock (2.4 Edition)
Is Nethershard Girdle - Item - World of Warcraft not good enough to be considered in the top 15 belts? If so, where does it rank on that list?

Nope not top 15. It includes 35 spell damage only. Belt 15 has that plus spell crit. That means it doesn't even break into the list. |
