It was probably said somewhere in the guide, but after reading it three times the right sentence eludes me.
Yeah I used 0/21/40 because it's probably our highest DPS spec, easy to model with just Shadowbolt and scales well with gear so you can see the difference between Kara and BT loot.

The questing gear is definitely a little dry from 50-Outlands. I suggest you just push towards Outlands and ignore gear until then. To be honest, once you hit 70, you'll realize how trivial gear at lower levels actually is. Just rush to Outlands and you'll upgrade any gear you have now anyway.

Probably. I honestly could have touched up on the calculations from the lists a little better than I did. It was a little difficult since the some of the loot I was using is from the new patch so it isn't up on a site like Warcrafter or CTprofiles where I can look at exact stat differences. Take the blue part section after those final lists with a grain of salt...the important part is the gear setup.

Re: Gearing Your Warlock (2.4 Edition)

nice thread pimp.

i saw you said that you did the crit / haste/ hit = +damage calcs with a 1100 something + damage gearset and relatively low crit.

when i usually go into Leuir's sheets i enter what i would be fully raid buffed, this being flask, oil and foodbuff. can add in and out shaman totem but i usually keep it in. this putting the numbers around 1630 damage 31% crit and hitcap.

then with this gearset haste becomes near 1.20 +damage equiv , and crit at 1.1.

with these changes for ex: you said akama bracers are the best atm, fell for the best in slot gearset, bracers of nimble thought are without a doubt superior to cuffs of dev and focused mana.

otherwise very nice and well written guide, i also liked how you had the sheets hit at 130 so that items with no hit but itemization elsewhere would not come out as huge upgrades when in reality wouldnt be practicle.

i was more interested in the 21 spell hit itself, the epic gems are 10 and 5 spell hit, unless theres a 6 spell hit gem floating around somewhere you botched some calculations up

C-Pimp, I just can't think of enough good things to say. Your first guide was absolutely outstanding... And this is an excellent follow-up.

Because of the time and effort you've put into your guides, you've saved me a lot of time and gold that would otherwise have been wasted on very trivial upgrades as well as giving us a clearly defined "shopping list" for the items to work for.

A hojillion thank you's,
Woundweaver

Sigh elrac you damn nitpicker. And I'm not flaming you or out to pick a fight here since I know you dont really mean any harm, your just thrilled that you found something to pick on in an otherwise very good guide. If you absolutely want exactly 21 hitrating here's how he could have done it.. 8+8+5.. And actually there is a +6 spell hit rating in game, the uncommon version, but why should he use that.. Tho if he had it could also give the magic number 21 using that gem and combining it with either a 10+5 or a Spell Strike enchant on gloves... Or maybe after building all those sets and checking stats, calculating dps etc, so when he overdid it with gems just to pass the cap he was to plain tired to care to go back and change some gems so he wouldnt overdo.. Over maybe he didnt account for the fact that in 2.4 the heroic gems arent unique-equipped anymore and ran out of gems... Or maybe it was just a damn TYPO!
Anyways at this level, especially after reading the guide you should be aware the hit cap 202, so every single point past that wont affect dps, so even if it's a typo it doesnt mather, he got 8 hit to swing on.. It wouldnt affect a single calculation. All in all, and I'll go slow now, it just-doesnt-mather!

And sorry that kinda turned into a flame, but I really dont want to start a fight in this great thread. If I just pissed you off, pm me instead. If this'll cause a mess, delete this post forum mistress.

And great work pimp! Dont know how you can take plotting in all those calculations, but wonderfull work you big squishy canadian nerd you
