Re: Enchanting Guide (draft 1)

For those wondering about the staff enchant, it is still leaps and bounds behind pre-ulduar unenchanted one-hand / off hand combos. It gets just a little closer with Ulduar gear though. Better if you skip the socket bonus, and crazy for the JC warlocks out there with 32 SP prismatics.
Best combo comparisons were:
Pre-Ulduar
Greatstaff of the Nexus -- 461+81 = 542 SP
Turning Tide / Matriarch's Spawn -- 520 + 66 = 586 SP (enchanted at 649 SP)

Ulduar
Staff of Endless Winter -- 587+81(+9 socketed) = 668 SP (677 SP socketed, between 18 and 64 extra from the gems)
Runescribed Blade / Leviathan Fueling Manual -- 550+63 + 75 = 688 SP

Re: Enchanting Guide (draft 1)

well, you can get 2 +23 spellpower gems in the staff which brings it above 710...
If you got hit rating from other items the staff is clearly better than the combo.

For JC's its an excellent place for the prismatic gems too of course.

I love enchanting because I never have to post my greens on the AH for $$ to buy mats or search a person to DE them.

Its just a de and pop in the bank in stacks.

Hi, just wondering what peoples thoughts are on

Enchant Boots - Tuskarr's Vitality - Spell - World of Warcraft

over

Enchant Boots - Icewalker - Spell - World of Warcraft

12 crit doesnt do a whole for us and if we can afford to drop 12 hit rating, is the increased movement speed worth it?

Tuskarr's Vitality is stam/run speed. From a pure DPS look as a destro or affliction neither stat really helps us. I don't find I have trouble keeping up in boss fights that I'd need a run speed increase.

While its true it is not a dps enchant, with a Boss fight such as Yog for example wouldnt the increased run speed be of benefit?

I mean lets say you just killed a corruptor at 11 and the next one spawns at 6 if I get there sooner and am able to cast sooner doesnt that in essence increase my over all damage on the boss?

Or the time you spend not casting while running to get your sanity back and then back to where you were casting. I mean last night we were doing Yog with 2 watchers and it just seems to me that if I could run a lil faster my over all damage on the fight would increase.

Re: Enchanting Guide (draft 1)

It is really a matter of preference. While 12 hit and crit are not astounding numbers by far, they add more DPS per average encounter than any other enchant. While Tuskarr's Vitality may increase your Damage 'uptime', you'll have to get 12 Hit from somewhere else, possibly losing Spellpower in it's place (assuming you're right on hit-cap).
