New Emblem Spending Guide

Emblem Spending Guide (v3.3)

This guide has been rewritten from the ground up for patch 3.3. Due to the extensive changes brought on by the evolution of emblems dropping in heroics, several pieces of gear have been made completely irrelevant. I have sourced MaxDPS.com for the dps ratings almost exclusively. All recommendations are based...

Re: Emblem Spending Guide

Hi cormanthor, I have a little comment:

I would rank the heroic T8 robe and head higher, actually I consider them being the most important EoC loot. As you already pointed out, the EoC Amulet, Gloves and Legs have equivalent replacements from heroic T7 raid instances, while the heroic T8 items are clear upgrades over anything from T7. Besides that, the dps values are pure stats values. The 2piece T8 + 4p T8 set boni are worth around 200 dps (even more for specs using conflagrate I think), the largest part coming from the 2 piece bonus. In my opinion this makes the T8 Robe and Hood top priority to get.

It might also be worth using the EoC to buy Runed Orbs. You need 6 of them to craft the Sash of Ancient Power that is as far as I know a Best in slot item for ulduar level gear. The drop rate on the Orbs is quite low considering that it can be used to craft BiS items for almost any class.

Re: Emblem Spending Guide

I have updated the guide to include the Runed Orbs (under the EoC belt where I reference the Sash of Ancient Power they are used to create). I also made note of the desire to finish out 2pc T8 with a hood purchase IF you have the chest already. If you got one of the others to drop, I would still recommend the chest over the hood, especially for the same price. I already had the chest mentioned (albeit small and at the end of its entry) as being a first purchase if you can save up the EoC's for it and haven't seen it drop by then. But I will move it to the top of the heap as it should be first purchase if you don't have it yet.
Do you think the Hood should move up to 2nd place though? It's pretty good, but that's a lot of EoC for what it gives you.

Re: Emblem Spending Guide

New EoT items posted. More links, etc, are forthcoming. Feedback is appreciated, as always!

Edit: completed the links for the 3.2 data.

Re: Emblem Spending Guide

a couple of suggestions;

now 3.2 has come i think it might be worth thinning down this list as theres a lot of stuff that simply isnt worth getting.

When you hit 80 farm the HCs for emblems of conquest and the ring from the last boss in UK hc. Theres a trink thats equivelent to the sundail from totc normal. Great set of boots and dagger from totc HC. if you do the daily heroic by the time you have got all the bits from the emblems of conquest you should have enough emblems of triumph for the wand and maybe another t9 bit too.

only things worth getting from emblems of Heroism are the off hand and the sundial trink.

theres a nice ring and wrists from emblems of valor once you have exhausted the stuff from emblems of conquest.

thats pretty much where im at now and should easily give you enough dps to get into the 25man content. I highly recomend you do OS 10/25 and VOA10/25 every week they are easy to pug these days as almost everybody is farming them for badges. VOA 25 also drops all the T8 bits so may well save you some badges but the drop rate is low.

if you get into naxx 10 with your guild and you get the key for eoe10 the quest reward is a very nice neck.

i have been running ulduar 10 with the guild but most of my stuff comes from emblems and drops from VOA25 putting out 5k in 25man pug raids and normally coming in the top 3 in overall damage and DPS.

gearing up has never been easier or quicker. My dps has gone from about 2kdps to 4kdps on dummies since 3.2

Re: Emblem Spending Guide

I think what alot of people are wondering is what order to get stuff from EoT badges as there's such alot to choose from. You have to look at your gear and work out what is a valuable upgrade. For me the non-hit shoulders were my first choice Mantle of Revered Mortality - Item - World of Warcraft. Pretty expensive but they were a clear upgrade to the U25 ones i had plus they look awesome. I didn't go for the t9 since i worked out they really weren't worth getting until heroic. The next thing i was planning was to get the ring, which is 35 emblems. The rings i have are fine, though this one is a straight upgrade to the Band of Channeled Magic - Item - World of Warcraft, though now i'm not so sure whether i need much more haste...

I will definitely go for t9 once i have bought the ring, by the time i have saved up 30 badges i may have managed to get a token for heroic, but i don't know that yet, plus if i do get one piece of T9 i would have to bank it until i got a second piece since i wouldn't want to break my 4piece bonus.

Good point. I'll have to rework the list a bit, given the EoC drop rate, and some of the spectacular goodies that drop from ToC5 regular and heroic. This could take a little bit, as I plan on grabbing up some of this loot this weekend myself.

Re: Emblem Spending Guide

Just updated for 3.3 for the most part. I will add the Emblem of Frost gear once 3.3 goes live and wowhead / maxdps have it up.

What do you suggest as a weapon? not much to do with emblems, but would be a nice touch to put along side the guide, if you starting to gear through emblems there might be a decent weapons that people come across while doing so..

Just a thought, otherwise excellent guide! Thank you

Re: Emblem Spending Guide

Your best bet for an early weapon is to farm H ToC5 for Spectral Kris - Item - World of Warcraft
