Warlock Gear: A Guide
Warlock Gear: A Guide Preface This guide is intended to be a helpful list of gear in the spirit of Canadian Pimp's guide. It's focused on actively raiding 3/14/54 Destro locks, but should be useful for other specs as well. Now, its hard to live up to the juggernaut that was Gearing Your Warlock, so...

Re: Warlock Gear: A Guide
I'm beginning to update the post with some of the 3.2 gear. I'm not going to be posting the updates at this time. My intention is to have the entire post ready and saved on my computer in the next week or two so that I can post it immediately when the patch hits. lilsteele: That's true to an extent. It looks like the Demo lists are substantially different, though. I might eventually make one set of lists for Destro and Affliction (since they're not TOO dissimilar) and another set of lists for Demo. The not being able to see everything on one page is kind of annoying, actually. Switching sections takes a few seconds, and some bandwidth. Still, it certainly looks cleaner this way, and I have the freedom to expand each section without making the guide too cluttered or unwieldy.

Re: Warlock Gear: A Guide
OK, I've got a bit of a debate going on in my head right now. I have the worst luck rolling on trinkets. Kind of. I got Dying Curse early on in Naxx and I recently procured Living Flame from Ulduar. It's my other, preferred-to-be-non-hit trinket I've always had lousy luck with. I still run OS every week trying for IotDS to no avail and I don't have much time to run Naxx pugs anymore (and the guild only raids Ulduar now). I was using Egg of Mortal Essence for a while until they nerfed it, and now I have Sundial of the Exalted and the Titan Forged Rune of Audacity in my inventory. I'm fully aware that the EJ numbers say that Sundial should be a dps increase over the PvP trinket, but in practise I'm not really seeing it on the target dummy over 5 minutes or on boss fights. It procs at very inopportune times while we're doing trash or 8 seconds before a pull. I also enjoy having the movement trinket in conjunction with Undead Will of the Forsaken because there is a lot of trash and boss CC in Ulduar, much moreso than in Naxx, and a lot of it is removeable. For example, we only had one Priest (!) in our raid last night and it saved my neck when I didn't get a dispell to remove Freeze when my health was already quite low. I guess I'm asking someone to convince me that I should ignore my intuition and stick with the Sundial.

Re: Warlock Gear: A Guide
Great guide, only thing i find hard is to estimate how to rate gear when taking off the hit rating. Being overcapped as it is it essentially isn't doing anything for me anymore. Why is it that every piece of gear in ulduar has gazillion hit, overcapping everyone? |

Re: Warlock Gear: A Guide
Quote:
You need to enter Falcrist's original stat weightings (with the 1.80 hit rating, not the 0.90) into Loot Rank for WotLK, and create first a list of +Hit gear, and then change the value of the Hit rating to 0, and get another list of -Hit gear. And then if you are short on +hit, you look on the +Hit list, and if you are hit capped, then you look on teh other -Hit gear list. But make sure you use the stat weightings where he has +hit valued at 1.80, and not the 0.90 since he said that the only reason he cut it in half was to make the combined gear list. |

Re: Warlock Gear: A Guide
Thank you for this. I am glad to have a formula to use to help evaluate new pieces. Do you know of any changes in 3.2 that might force us to adjust that formula? |
