The guide to raiding spell rotation and raiding stats.

Hey guys, i'll attempt to collate the vast amount of information in this thread in the shortest / easiest to read form.

Firstly i'd like to note the fact that blizzard did not release most of the formulaes for anything in the game. As such, ALL the information, statistics and formulaes are based on empirical evidence and collated by the community around the world. As such, we've gotta keep in mind that, untill Columbus find the Americas, we might be thinking that the world is...

Re: The guide to raiding spell rotation and raiding stats.

I've tried to search around more on this, but I'm quite bad at searching and haven't found anything so far. I did hear a spriest mate of mine mention that his spriest site said a similar thing where haste = damage when they hit 1400+ spell damage....

Anyone got any ideas why at higher ranges of damage it's claimed by some that haste becomes more valuable but damage stays the same?

Re: The guide to raiding spell rotation and raiding stats.

At what point do I start sacrificing Spell Damage for Crit? I'm at 1179 Shadow Damage with only the Fel Armor buff up (so somewhere around 1230 with food/wizard oil up). My spell Crit is 15.16%.

I was Affliction, then recently switched to 0/21/40, so my spell crit was last on my mind. With some recent gear upgrades, I am a bit over spell hit (216) which a re-gem will fix.

I need to up my spell crit, but at what cost to spell damage? We are basically running Kara now, with Gruuls up next. Here is my armory link:

(I know, my wand and bracers need upgrades, that'll be happening this week)

Thx!

Re: The guide to raiding spell rotation and raiding stats.

this is a good guide, altho i havnt followed it at all lol. i dont understand why the t5 depends on your pet. if i wanted a pet out during a 25 man raid to get slaughtered, i would have made a BM hunter.

with badge gear, 202 hit, 1300 shadow damage (during raids it goes up to almost 1600 with buffs), and 24% crit. i sac felhunter so i never waste time life tapping, and shadow bolt forever. top damage alsmot everytime. but i have no haste. which is probably holding me back...but i figure stacking haste is only necessary when 25 man bosses begin to drop gear with it included, yes?

Re: The guide to raiding spell rotation and raiding stats.

With the new patch coming out, how has people adapted to the new talent trees? I am looking to optimize my raiding DPS and improve on my overall ability in raids and am looking for some advice on how to do this through spell rotations. Is it really worth casting the CoE, CB, SB, and an Immolate here and there or is it better to just span the CB, SB?

Right now I've found the old DS/SnF build still does ok DPS, unfortunately I'm critting for 4-6k where as before I was critting 6-10k but you can throw Corruption into the mix now that its instant.

I've been doing some research and apparently with the right gear you can pull off 3k DPS on brut with this spec:

Re: The guide to raiding spell rotation and raiding stats.

Please note that this is NOT a 3.0.3 guide. It is actually a BC guide. We will fix it ASAP.
