Compendium of 80 PvP Gear

For someone new coming into PvP, looking at gear can be frustrating, as there are sets of gear and nobody really has a concise list of PvP gear organized by quality. All of the data on PvP gear is scattered throughout the webosphere. Here is a list of gears in an order that I would reccomend upgrading.

Frostsavage Set
This is a decent set to start off with if you have zero pvp gear as it is tailor made and only requires a minimal investment. I'm going to refrain from linking each item, as it is a long list of items. I'm sure you will have no problem finding everything you need to know about the frostsavage set.

Hateful Gladiator's Dominance Off-Set
First, after the frostsavage, you will want to pick up the hateful gladiator's dominance off-set, as they require no arena rating:

Savage Gladiators Felshroud Set

This is a decent set to work on, but I would pass on the lower end
pieces because if you're serious about PvP you will be picking up the Hateful Gladiator's Set while playing arenas. That is why I chose the amice and cowl over the other pieces because you will be getting the deadly handguards, trousers, ect, as you acquire a higher arena rating. You may even want to skip this set altogether if you're able to get enough arena rating for the hateful pieces.
  • Amice - 50k honor or 9.6k honor + 275AP
  • Cowl - 60k honor or 12K honor + 350AP
  • Raiment - 60k honor or 12k honor + 350AP
  • Trousers - 60k honor or 12k honor + 250AP
  • Handguards - 50k honor or 9.6k honor + 275AP

Requires arena rating!
From here on all the pieces require an arena rating, only people serious about PvP need to look beyond the first parts of this guide. AR stands for arena rating.

As soon as you get enough rating you will want to pick up your second ring:

Hateful Gladiator's Felshroud
  • Cowl - (1735AR) 12k Honor 700AP
  • Raiment - (1675AR) 12k Honor 700AP
  • Trousers - (1645AR) 12k Honor 700AP
  • Amice - (1775AR) 9.6k Honor 550AP
  • Handguards - (1615AR) 7.2k Honor 400AP

Deadly Gladiator's Off-Set
  • Waist - (1630AR) 62k Honor
  • Feet - (1720AR) 62k Honor
  • Wrists - (1660AR) 39.4k Honor
  • Back - (1750AR) 47.4k Honor
  • Neck - (1600AR) 47.4k Honor

Deadly Gladiator's Felshroud
This set requires serious arena points, and a high arena rating. You will need to spend serious ammounts of time devoted to your arena teams in order to get these pieces.

This would be a good resource, but probably needs to be fleshed out a bit with the wintergrasp items, the good pvp enchants, and gem selections.

Re: Compendium of 80 PvP Gear

If it ends up being fleshed out, I can add this to the Library guides.

Heroic 25man mode: all pvp pieces except head, deadly
No rating required

Kharma's grace yellow gem from wintergrasp, 20 stone keeper shards, +20 resi

Re: Compendium of 80 PvP Gear

This listing is a start. Beyond running Vault of Achravon--which yields high quality pvp gear--the other keys to successful gearing of pvp are in Wintergrasp marks/stone keeper shards, and appropriate enchants and gems.

First of all, with the Marks of Wintergrasp you can purchase an excellent head piece, good boots, and a nice trinket.

For 15 marks:
Titan-Forged Slippers of Dominance
Titan-Forged Slippers of Salvation
(and, coming in 3.1, costs supposedly at 15 marks:
Titan-Forged Cord of Dominance,
Titan-Forged Cord of Salvation
)

For 25 marks:
Flow of Knowledge
(and, coming in 3.1:
Titan-Forged Rune of Audacity
Titan-Forged Rune of Alacrity
Titan-Forged Rune of Cruelty
)

For 40 marks:
Titan-Forged Hood of Dominance
Titan-Forged Hood of Salvation
(and, coming in 3.1, supposedly for 40 marks:
Titan-Forged Raiment of Dominance,
Titan-Forged Raiment of Salvation
)

Furthermore, for stone keeper shards you can get nice +spellpower, +resilience enchantments.

15 shards: a variety of nice meta gems
20 shards: Kharmaa's Grace, a +20 res yellow gem
30 shards: Inscription of Dominance, a +23 spellpower, +15 res shoulder enchant
40 shards: Arcanum of Dominance, a +29 spellpower, +20 res head enchant

Re: Compendium of 80 PvP Gear

First of all, the costs will all be changed come 3.1. However, Savage and Hateful gear can also be gotten with Emblems. If someone could edit this in:

Savage:
Cowl - 45 Emblems of Heroism
Raiment - 45 Emblems of Heroism
Trousers - 45 Emblems of Heroism
Amice - 30 Emblems of Heroism
Handguards - 30 Emblems of Heroism

Hateful:
Cowl - 45 Emblems of Valor
Raiment - 45 Emblems of Valor
Trousers - 45 Emblems of Valor
Amice - 30 Emblems of Valor
Handguards - 30 Emblems of Valor

Also, an interesting note: The Savage Amice is considered better than the Hateful Amice by some due to the amount of resilience.

----

Gem Selections
When you're first starting out, you want to be gemming for Resilience/Stamina as much as possible due to our squishy nature. But this might change as your gear progresses. Additionally, unlike PvE, it is also wise usually to gem for the socket bonus.

Note While hit is seen as an exclusively PvE stat, you do need 4% to cap in PvP. Some get this through PvP hit gear, some do it through enchants and gems. Thus I have included hit gems as well.

Note that with the start of S6, deadly gear pieces from S5 can be bought from the vendors for the same amount of hnr as the original hateful items. They have better stats and the old hateful items have been removed entirely.

Re: Compendium of 80 PvP Gear

The hateful rings are still available. Since rings are unique you can only equip one. Having hte hateful and the deadly is a big up if you don't have them both, so even if you are just starting out work on getting them both. I think the deadly is about 38000/honor and the hateful is around 30,000 now.

Re: Compendium of 80 PvP Gear

Should we be gunning for Spirit in the Hateful or Deadly items? Or just the stam and intel? I am just starting to purchase items again and wonder what i should do. Also, what are the best enchants for pants and chest for PvP for locks?
