Nostromo n52 users

hi there !

i read that some of you use it. Great. I'm generally using a microsoft sidewinder, but bought a nostromo couple of months ago.

Question is : do yo have a link to get working driver / setting app on this paddle ?

because it's impossible for me to use the combination : forward + strafe. Try to record a macro, but it doesn't save it.

Not being able to go in diagonal is out of question.

Unfortunately I bought mine for my imac - the supplied driver doesn't work and I had to buy a third party app. (although now they've released an updated driver).

I did find a link for drivers for windows as well as mac here

Cabale,

Do you have a Warlock profile you do not mind sharing??

I would be interested to see how you have your Nostro keys setup for a Lock.

I have a Nostro. But I am curently using a MERC keyboard. I still think I would like to use the Nostro better with the right profile.

This Nostro N52 sounds awsome, I never even knew such a thing existed. My question, can the pad be programmed for different toons? I.E. Keys mapped for warlock and then when playing a mage you can load another profile you lready had set up to play that character? Or are these only good for playing with your main?

yes you can. Personnally i'm stuck with the microsoft strategic commander (not supported any more by microsoft under Vista but working well on xp). i'm playing with it since 6 years now, difficult to change. I had to repair it myself couple of time ! it's my thing. Unfortunatly it died couple of weeks ago, so I bought a n52.
But never work well.

So bought a new strategic commander on ebay ^^ (you can't find it other way actually)

I have to give n52 another chance.

This is my basic UI using the nostromo and BarTender. This actual screenshot was taken a few months ago using FlexBar UI, but I accomplished most of the same thing with BarTender. I've also added alot of other UIs since then, but this at least shows you how I'm using the Nostromo.

I have two button areas at the bottom. The left one is set up like the nostromo. I mapped each button on the nostromo to hotkeys 1 through "=" and then "[" "]", and then mapped the buttons in the UI. The right side buttons are less often used, and I use those with mouse clicks.

I have the top thumb button on the Nostromo set to the alt key, which bartender switches to a 2nd set of buttons in both button banks. For example, without using alt, the right-hand buttons are my pet attack and follow commands. If I hold down the top thumb button, those change to my 2 pet macro buttons (seduce, spell lock, etc).

I use my mouse for all movement, and other mouse buttons to targeting nearest enemy and a few other commands.

Well, I just orered one online for $27 including shipping :-)!

Using a mod like Bongos or similar, is it possible to set up the bars to look like the keys on the N52, then when you change a key page(say from green to red) on the N52, the associated buttons will change on the screen UI as well to represent what functions are actually available with each page?

I wouldn't recommend a nostromo. I bought one for playing FPS games, but ended up ditching it for a normal keyboard:

the keys are too hard to press, and after prolonged play you'll really regret it,
the scroll wheel button & scrolling function are nearly useless,
the thumb function buttons are quirky, in that they lack responses at random times.

There are other gaming keyboards/units out there that are much better. I'd recommend looking around.
