Raiding with 0/21/40
Helloooooo Warlocks!
I'm new to this forum and I'd like to ask you something. I'm pretty new to the 21/40 too. When raiding with 21/40, Is 202 spell hit mostly important? Atm I got 95 spell hit, like 19% spellcrit and 900 spelldamage with fel armor on(I know I suck). Is it really worth dropping all crit/spelldmg sockets and trading them for spellhit sockets? How much difference is it really? Can someone explain that to me? And could someone tell me what to do with my gear first? Would be really appreciated! Oh and something to add is that my guild is currently taking down Karazhan And Gruul's easy. Got down Lurker too though =) |

Re: Raiding with 0/21/40
Short answer: yes.
For destro, Hit > damage > Crit Shadow Bolt resists hurt destro DPS significantly, especially on boss fights where DPS counts the most. I cant view your armory profile from work, but I would suggest stacking more hit until you get to 202. Veiled Noble Topaz is my gem of choice for this. |

Re: Raiding with 0/21/40
with only 95 hit rating a destruction spec is almost a waste.. you'll do more damage as a 41/#/17 min spec..
i just hit 180 hit rating and we just stepped foot into hyjal.. ill be going 0/21/40 after tonight or tomorrow (after i get my T5 shoulders or vashj robe) =) once i hit 200+hit.. like the above poster.. almost all my yellow and red sockets have veiled noble topaz's in them.. |

Re: Raiding with 0/21/40
It isn't overly hard to get 202 hit and still maintain a decent crit/damage before you set foot in any 25 man raids.
I've got 202 hit, 1000 spell damage, 18 (+5%) crit and my only raid gears are Jewel of Infinite Possibility and Adorment of Stolen Souls. Last edited by Heuvarius; October 26, 2007 at 11:16 PM. |

Re: Raiding with 0/21/40
You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Destruction is a very strong raid spec, and has some of the best scaling with gear a 'lock can get. (I'm fighting with a BM hunter and a combat rogue for #1, in 25 mans. The affliction 'locks in my guild can't get anywhere near that kind of output.)

Re: Raiding with 0/21/40
for me... the raid need 2 affliction lock and 1 shadow destro (with balance dudu in party).
with at least 30-35% crit rating raid buffed (and 16% hit rating) on boss fight you can take up che Improved shadowbolt for the entire combat. It means +20% damage for affli lock and shadowpriest (and boost personal damage by Curse of Agony or CoD) and affli lock take up che improved curse ![]() |

Re: Raiding with 0/21/40
Please... PLEASE... do not make baseless statements like "destruction is by no means a raiding spec."
That's just... wrong... on so many levels. Raiding is ALL it does well. And it's the only spec we have that scales properly with T6 level gear. And, yes, 202 hit is an absolute must for every spec we have when you raid. |

Your are totaly wrong my friend... but in the end its important to understand that the main priority for 0/21/40 is not to only be in top spot of the dps metter... its also to have 2 points in imp HS ( affliction never put points in it or put only 1 points to have 3 HS total) but moslty... your job is to keep that uber Imp SB debuff up as much as you can and help mage for range burst damage. A raid with 3 lock is better to have 2 affliction + 1 Destro than 3 affliction even if the destro lock dont have like 150 + hit and 28 % + crit. |

Re: Raiding with 0/21/40
affliction is better than destro until you have the min stats for it (20% crit, 1k spelldmg, 200 hit). after you pass these number, sac/S+F just pulls away, and affliction warlocks are left watching your imp SB debuffs on the mob. for 25 man raiding (T5 instances and onwanrds) only one affli lock is required, when mages have 2/5 T5 they all specc into arcane anyway...
