Help the newb warlock
Hy!
My main problem is that i think i'm not puting up enough dps and also i got a lot of resists on shade, but even when i hit almoast every time i still put up around 300 dps.I was thinking to respec destro,or maybe a 0/21/40 to be able to also farm efectively. But before that i wanna be sure that my casting seqance it's fine also cos i think that is my main problem, usualy on trash i do CoS,Coruption, pet in (wich is usualy imp) and spam SB, on boses i do Coruption,CoS,imolate, pet in and spam SB,refreshing DoTs as needed. Can you advice me on how to improve my dps pls? PS:that sounds like one those sexual advice questions from girls magazines, damn. |

Re: Help the newb warlock
For what you're describing affliction is good. You get smoother but high DPS. Lots of instant cast DPS spells, shadow trance helps too (because on aran mobility is vital and shadow trance means some shadow bolts can be thrown on the move). I think you're barking up the wrong tree VERY literally. You'll benifit more from being able to cast on the move, and more predictable DPS.
When standing still my DPS hits about 600DPS give or take, with gear that's all pre curator, and that's not in ideal situations (I spend a lot of time making /rw messages on most fights and not standing still etc). My DPS just from topping up instant casts is about 300 as 43/7/11 (though that's without CoS, I'll only use CoS if the shadow priest is there buffing my damage 20%, with CoS and a shadow priest, it's more 280 from just mobile sources but would pick up on the "opportunity because I'm still" casts), and that's without the odd shadowbolt, immolate, and UA. Now considering that shorter casting time spells will have better mobility than 2.5 second shadowbolts that's not bad either. Also, I'd advise spamming shadowburn if it's looking good. |

Re: Help the newb warlock
Yes, 300 is a tad low. You sould be able to get aroun 500 with any build and okay equip.
It probably has to do with your cast rotation/how often your dots are up, how many shadow bolts you get off ect. I'd also reccomend going with a UA spec if you want to dps on bosses. Trash it isn't so good but it holds up. It requires a bit of practice to make shure you're doing everything you can that does damage but if you have the basics down right your dps should improve in time. |
