And I would add that SoC on Illhoof is pretty close to necessity. If your raid outgears Kara perhaps you don't, but for a group just entering into Kara a Warlock with SoC is key for this one. |

Re: SoC in Kara?
Add to the list: Trash packs after Opera.
Dot up the elites and then soc whats left. AoE, and SoC particularly work well on 3+ targets so these packs are just big enough to make it worth your while. |

Amen brother! During the Illhoof fight i was over 2200 dps. Once again let me say i dont ONLY seed the target but also those surrounding the target and then Shadowfury to set them all off. Man when 3 seeds go off at the same time its down right nasty! Gotta love being a Lock! |

Re: SoC in Kara?
Somehow I can't bring myself to trust Blizz fixes ... I'm still wary of SoC in some places, like the mobs after Moroes. And I'd put money on still being able to aggro most of Strat with SoC.

Re: SoC in Kara? + CoD
Thank Goodness I logged on today, These are great responses and now im excited for tonight we only raid weekends so I get to try this stuff out tonight. I'll let you guys know how it goes!! Hopefully my dps can go up, I wasnt very happy with my dps the first time we went in, this will for sure spike that up.
This brings up another question, im not sure if I should ask it here or start a new thread... CoD (curse of doom) advisable or no? on attumen, maiden or moroes (dont think we will get past that for a while to be honest). |

(amped if possible). If you're on Netherspite blue ray phase, stack up his debuff until 30 or more then go trinket+Amp and CoD. Quite easy to see a 30 or 40k number popping up under this circumstances ![]() |

Re: SoC in Kara?
A couple of things.
1) curse of doom on enemy who'll live more than a minute and not aggro wipe is very yes. 2) If AoEing a healer should be covering you, ideally a priest so they can bubble you too. 3) SoC is the best AoE in the game. If you're not using it, you're denying your raid a lot of AoE DPS. Once most of the mobs are dropped I tend to pick one and drain life to make the healer's job easier. Okay about kara 1) attumen is easy. If your raid cannot beat attumen, they need to spend some of their time in 5 mans and/or heroic still or get some crafted epics. 2) Moroes is tricky and more wipetacular than some of the opera events and definately maiden. He requires focused DPS and a solid strategy. 3) Maiden is straight forward if you have a paladin or two healing. Blessing of sacrifice a few seconds before the repentance, and continue healing the tank. Your dispellers need to be on the ball. 4)If your guild members have run some 5 mans a bit, maybe all picked up an epic here or there (almost entirely blue gear will cut it for the first couple of bosses if your players know their class properly), you should be able to trounce up to and including opera with a little practice, optimism and determination in the face of wipes. And once you have a few bosses on farm, you'll gear up fast and be able to start hammering curator. Once he's down, it's just a case of practice till you can nail every other boss in kara (though you'll pick some gear up on the way anyway) For most of these fights, everyone needs deadlyboss mods, bigwigs or some other raid warning system, this is near vital unless every raid member is friggin exceptional. Debuff removers need decursive, need. And everyone needs a threat meter. |

Re: SoC in Kara?
one thing to keep in mind when SOC'ing packs - try not to soc the target that the MA is on first. This will cause your soc to go off immediately.
instead, tab to the ones that the MA is not on, soc them. you should be able to get off 3-4 soc's before one pops (popping them all). SoC duty is what makes Illhoof fun. It makes rogues cry to lead the DM by 2-300k for one fight. |
