Yup. When you do it this way you do not even need a shield sometimes.

This brings up a question tho...

I thought I read or heard somewhere that SOC damage does not trigger other placed seeds. This true?

I don't think it does trigger the other seeds, but other ae'ers will trigger it for you. Warriors whirl winding, mages etc...
