I had a tough time with more then two before I hit 70. Now that I've accumulated some nice gear and am sitting at approx 1100 sd, I've got options. I can spam three sbolts and most mobs die or in the case of the fire elementals at the elemental plateau, I can pull 8-12 of them without running into problems. Just adjust your playstyle according to your abilities and keep pushing yourself, you will find that you will gain abilities with different gear.

right now i have 820 +shadow damage. i can farm the burning legion in SMV with no problems. i take on wrathwalkers, terrormasters, mo'arg weaponsmiths, and others of the kind with no problem. i can take on 8 and finish the fight with 80% health.

first mob- UA-SL-Corr-Curse of Agony
the rest of the mobs- SL-Corr-Curse of Agony

Death Coil and HoT when needed. After you HoT do Drain Life to get health back.

I'm getting 200 health per tick of SL and i'm not at 1k damage yet. all the posts on here have helped tremendously. read and succeed my friend. lol

When you reach 1k+ damage though, you can farm level 67 and below mobs by just walking through them and casting SL, Corrup and Curse of Agony and keep walking and tabbing through ;) Then Dark pact and just continue.
Then go back and collect all the dead bodies.

It will be even more fun. Sigh, I miss afflict, if only it scales better.

what bothers me is that they dont die with those three DoTs. i dont use UA because it has a casting time and can get delayed. with 670 sp damage i swear i'm still hitting like a peewee cheerleader....

And that is the crux of your problem. Your spell damage is right on..prbably a tad better, for your level, but it's just not enough for same level mobs or higher to grind that way. I found out the esiest way to grind mobs as affliction in OL was basically to fear/drain. DoT your mob as he comes to you (starting with UA) then fear him. LIfe tap. Drain. instead of using Curse of Agony, use Immo and put CoEx on him to keep him from going too far too fast. You'll catch up once you get Kara geard. At 1070 spell damage, I could pretty much kill just about anything at any level with those 3 dots and a drain. To grind the rest of my Consortium rep, I used to go to the etherials in southern Netherstorm and farm badges off them. I'd kill 7-10 mobs at once. I'd have them dropping off dead behind me while I was still running around dotting up more. (at this point I had forgone iHoT) People hated me...and I mean HATED me, when I walked into an area to grind. I've been called names in languages I couldn't even tell what language it was. God I miss that spec.

i wrote this thread a month ago. now my sp damage is at 820 and like i said, i can grind SMV wrathwalkers, etc. with little or no ease. they die with just corr, SL, and Curse of Agony, and the occassional Death coil and HoT for those "oops" pulls
