regarding low dps

i have low dps in boss fights..to check my damage i use addon called recount ...these days i am collecting mats for FSW chest and shoulders , my guild is doing SSC and TK . I am affliction spec ...i will change to 0/20/40 when my spell crit increases to around 19% unbuffed and my spell hit increases to around 190+..Everytime i check recount to see my dps after a boss fight i see shadow bolt and corruption with max damage.. unstable affliction comes last in my damage output.. my spell rotation is curse / UA/corruption /then spam sb ...i used to use immolation also in my rotation
but when i check recount ..it never shows immolation in my top 3 damage making spells ..we always take 3 warlocks in a raid ..so curse of shadow and elements are always there..the other 2 warlocks are also affliction but they do more dps then me .I dont care about dps in trash ..but during boss fight i want to have good dps .i need some advice to help me in dps ..i use quartz addon and dot timer addon also.

he does not use immolate in his spell rotation and he does more dps than me in boss fights .am i low on gear compared to him or its something else

I see your friend has about 100 more shadow dam than you do atm, but that should be improved with time and gear. As for actual raid dps....don't go by those damage meters. Just because something isn't in the top three of your damage spells, you toss it out?

UA/Imm/Curse/Corrpution/SL/Shadowbolt is my standard dps string for a boss fight. Not using all your dots as affliction is gimping your dps and making the raid suffer. I can't emphasize it enough, use ALL your dots. You're affliction so they'll be ticking for quite a pretty sum. Add to that CoE and CoS which are sure to be up with 3 locks in the raid and you're going to be doing some massive dps.

i havent seen your armoury and am only responding to your above lone statement.I have 1230 spell damage when in 0/21/40 and nv use immolate then - accordinb to spreadsheets,using immolate acutally lowers my DPS when im 0/21/40.

When i am pve guard spec however,i do use immolate.According to the same spreadsheet,as demon immolate increases my dps.

I suggest you use spreadsheets to determine your own max DPS spell output,there is no one "golden" roataion,it is all determined by your spec,your current stats as well as the dioffernece between your shadow/fire damage.

i have one more question ..during boss fights after applying dots if i am low on mana ...i use dark pact if imp has no mana then i use life tap...mostly i use lifetap 2 times to get mana back ...and one click of dark pact sometimes
well my question is how much mana should i fill back ..cause when i use dark pact or life tap i dont spam sb so i would be losing on dps during that time .
am i using too much life tap or too less life tap (this goes for dark pact also)?
when i have 30% mana left then i start using dark pact or life tap after applying the dots

If you have SL, by the time DoTs are up, it's time to life tap, you want, ideally to be between 80 and 100% health where possible so SL is giving you a benifit... While life tap seems a good idea, your SL is healing you so it's not like it (should be/is) putting strain on healers and it's health you know is coming back.
