sl/sl farming

Shuda titled this something like affliction/ demonic sacrifice farming... but yea

***Little introduction***
One day a noob sl/sl warlock named 'John Doe' needed primal fires for his frozen shadoweave set. He was spec'd sl/sl for pvp and did 'ok' farming the mobs. After farming for a few hours, tired/bored as heck, he had to resummon his voidwalker because it died, but instead of pressing his keybind to soul link it, he accidently pressed DEMONIC SACRIFICE. "OH NOES!?!???" he said... "What will i ever do?? I don't have alot of shards and don't feel like summoning a new pet!" So he just kept on farming without a pet and a seemingly pointless +2% health regen buff [every 4 seconds btw] and realized he cud tank an extra mob and never had to drink. So the little noob warlock went on his way and /laughed when he stole mobs from allies because they were drinking and didn't notice an elemental appear behind them.
***End of introduction***

Sorry bout the dumb story , but cudn't resist.

So.. yea.. dunno if this will work for other types of mobs, but i found that even though im not using soul link, this buff gives the benefit of no downtime... (leading me to wanna try an affliction/ demonic sacrifice build with howl of terror and even stronger dots)

If this works... this could be great for farming all sorts primals where minimizing downtime is critical to beat the OTHER faction to mobs.

***disclaimer***
Little Noob Warlock, inc. will not be held accountable for any actions not intended in the above story that leads to death on of pvp server, or being boxed by a mage/pally combo on a pve server because you are taking all the mobs (personal experience). In addition Little Noob Warlock, inc. does in NO way condone the stealing of mobs from the same faction (something that really pisses me off)

If you guys feel up to it, try it out and let me know how it works!

Re: sl/sl farming

I agree and this is how I farm, although I am 21/40 so I sac the felpuppy if I'm farming primal mana, or blueberry if farming fire or things that sometimes hit me, then go for broke. Farming with a pet out for any spec that includes sacrifice seems counter productive.

Re: sl/sl farming

I often sac my felpup when grinding (mana regen > health regen, since sili and Drain life keep my HP up) as sl/sl.

Re: sl/sl farming

Gritz, I understand the logic, but also consider that both sacs 2% of hp/3% of mp. If hp is >> then mp (i.e PVP gear), the former might be better return for mana after LT conversion?

Re: sl/sl farming

I farm SL/SL but I keep Felpup up for the spell interrupts and to dispel and the like.

Re: sl/sl farming

I figured this out when I switched from affliction to 0/21/40 raid spec. I prefer the voidy sac for the health regen over the mana regen since I can always life tap for the mana and let the buff do its thing, but the health regen buff has certianly paid off on some battles where I've accidently aggroed a couple extra mobs and I dont have imp. Drain Life to use while getting beat on. (IQD for the most part. Stinking mobs respawn as fast as you killed the last one.) With you still having half your aff tree full you could go either way I suppose but with life tap, who cares about mana regen.

Re: sl/sl farming

for purely farming, I use 40/21/0 and sac the succubus = more health regained through more dps with SL and DL and quicker mob deaths. May require a death coil here or there, additional 'OHSHT' button instant howl if you pulled too many, then one DL will usually fill you up if you have 4-5 SL's ticking. This is decent spec for AV too, provided you can avoid getting targeted. It will out dps SL-SL and maintain the health regen. Not so good for arenas or any 1 on 1 pvp though.
