Crypt's Horde Guide to the Outland - Hellfire Peninsula

Hellfire Peninsula

Zone Information:
Once a lush and verdant land, Hellfire Peninsula is now a dry, barren wasteland rendered lifeless by the dark practices of orc warlocks. It is here that the Dark Portal stands, cementing the peninsula's place in history as the site of many pitched battles between the Alliance and Horde. The nefarious Burning Legion has gathered here also, using the area as a staging ground for its apocalyptic crusade.

Minimum Required Level: 58
Horde Outposts: 3 - Thrallmar, Falcon Watch and Spinebreaker Post
Flightpaths: 4 - Dark Portal, Thrallmar, Falcon Watch and Spinebreaker Post
Mailboxes: 2 - Thrallmar, Falcon Watch.

Main Faction: Thrallmar
Thrallmar is the main Horde outpost in Hellfire Peninsula and one you will get to know well as you start running around. It was founded and now led by Nazgrel, commander of Thrall's security, as an opportunity to gain resources and to have a decent control over what's going on in this demon-infested area. The residents of the town form a faction of its own, Thrallmar, which is raised by performing quests for them.

The most efficient way to gain reputation is to first kill monsters in the first two wings of Hellfire Citadel, Hellfire Ramparts & Blood Furnace, until you reached Honored – without doing the quests in Hellfire Peninsula. You can also repeat the PvP quest, "Hellfire Fortifications," to gain a slight amount of reputation until you are partly through Honored. After you reach the maximum rep level from these methods, then you should try to complete every quest you can in Hellfire Peninsula. Once you run out of quests, doing Shattered Halls (the level 70 wing) will be the primary method to continue to gain reputation in Honored and Revered. You will probably have to leave Hellfire Peninsula, then level up to 70 and come back and finish getting your reputation in Shattered Halls.

The above methods are not required; however, power players might want to use them to maximize their results. You can also simply do all the quests, and then run Hellfire Citadel. Once you can unlock Heroic Hellfire Citadel, you can gain even more reputation per run of the dungeons within.

Thrallmar houses an Inn with a mailbox out the front, quest givers, vendors and profession trainers covering nearly all of the professions.

Others Factions: The Mag'har, Silvermoon and Cenarion Expedition

PvP

If you enjoy PvP, Hellfire Peninsula offers some World PvP to take part in, as well as dailies based around the same structures. If you open up your map, in the middle of the zone you will see three locations:
  1. The Overlook
  2. The Stadium
  3. Broken Hill
As with other World PvP games each of these points may be captured by PvP flagged characters holding position within the objective. In order to flag a fort, you need to be non-stealthed, and the fort in question needs to be currently flagged by opposing faction, or unflagged (shown as gray on zone map). The faction with the most flagged characters within the objectives vicinity will slowly gain ownership of the point. When all three points are controlled by a faction they will gain a zone-wide bonus of +5% Damage, applicable even within the Hellfire Citadel instances. This bonus is called Hellfire Superiority.

In addition, any opposing players killed while fighting for the objectives will reward the player and the player's party with a PvP token, [Mark of Honor Hold] for the Alliance and [Mark of Thrallmar] for the Horde. Grouping is encouraged as only the party that performs the killing blow will receive a token.

Hellfire Daily Quests (PvP)
Quest: Hellfire Fortifications - Horde / Alliance
Objective: Capture the Overlook, the Stadium and Broken Hill
Reward: 3x Mark of Thrallmar or 3x Mark of Honor Hold and 150 reputation with matching faction.

To Capture a tower you must wait by the flag. When you are close enough a meter will show up letting you know the capture timer.

Since most servers seem to have more Alliance than Horde, these towers are almost always blue all of the time, which will allow you to complete this daily quest very easily. When you capture the tower, Alliance seem to come out of the wood work, although not to kill you, they are coming to complete their version of the quest. Your side can not already control the base in order to get credit. It must not belong to your faction to get the credit, despite the fact that you can stand there and let the timer count down. If you do this and your faction already is in control, you don't get credit. So Alliance need Horde to come and complete this quest so they can too. It's only considered 'capturing' it if the bar was originally in the gray (neutral) area.

Also, the quest can not be completed in a raid group, so if there is a battle going on, don't join the raid group if trying to do this quest. You only need a minimum level of 60 in order do begin this daily, so you can actually complete it while you're running around questing for some added honor and experience - the amount depending on your level of course. The locations for the towers are:
  • The Overlook: 39,48
  • The Stadium: 35,50
  • Broken Hill: 40,57
Tip: You will need to complete Forward Base: Reaver's Fall before this daily becomes available.
The Marks are used to purchase items off Battlecryer Blackeye located in Thrallmar. One item you might want to look at is the Stark Blood Garnet for 10 Marks.

Recommended Quests

Hellfire Peninsula has A LOT of quests. It also crosses over with Zangarmarsh towards the end, and some people might leave the zone early. Below are quests you want to make sure you don't miss as they provide some very nice Warlock rewards!

All Quests
Ok, time to get started with the questing!

Quest: [60] Report to Nazgrel
From: General Krakork in Thrallmar
Objective: Speak with Nazgrel
Reward: 4750 experience

This quest follows on from the heels of the 'Welcome to the Outlands' series starting at the Dark Portal. You don't need to have completed those quests in order to complete this one. If you have come from Shattrath instead of the Dark Portal, just seek out General Krakork who can be found pacing in fron of the Thrallmar Grunts near the flight master. Nazgrel is located just inside the Thrallmar Keep (big round room).
Quest: [61] Eradicate the Burning Legion
From: Nazgrel inside Thrallmar Keep, Thrallmar
Objective: Speak with Sergeant Shatterskull at the Supply Caravan just outside of Thrallmar, to the east.
Reward: 975 experience and 250 reputation with Thrallmar

As the quest says, if you leave Thrallmar via the east exit (south-east), you will find a Supply Caravan just outside and there will be Sergeant Shatterskull.
Before heading out of Thrallmar, collect the following quests:
  1. Bonechewer Blood from Vurtok Axebreaker in the same room as Nazgrel
  2. I Work... For the Horde! from Megzeg Nukklebust straight out from Thrallmar Keep
When you're ready, head out to the Supply Caravan, speak to Sergeant Shatterskull, hand in Eradicate the Burning Legion, and pick up the next step: Felspark Ravine

You can do all three quests in your log in a semi-loop around the one area. The Supply Caravan is on a main path of sorts, and if you follow it down, you will come onto 'The Path of Glory'. Just as you reach the point where the paths join, you should be able to see some wreckage on your left. Around the wreckage, are the Salvageable Wood and Metal you need for the following quest. (Note: There is also a large canon and more wreckage south of the path.)

Bug Report: As of June 2008, there is a bug with this quest when gathering the wood & metal south of the Path of Glory (the alliance side). Horde can only gather north of the path, while Alliance can only gather south.

Quest: [61] I Work... For the Horde!
From: Megzeg Nukklebust outside Thrallmar Keep, Thrallmar
Objective: Collect 8 pieces of Salvaged Metal and 8 pieces of Salvaged Wood
Reward: 9800 experience and 250 Rep. No Cloth rewards, so take Magistrate's Greaves as they vendor sell for the most.

The wood and metal are looted from the ground, identifiable by the sparkles that you should see. In order to get in and loot the metal and wood, you will need to clear the Bonechewer mobs, who just so happen, will drop the blood needed for:

Quest: [60] Bonechewer Blood
From: Vurtok Axebreaker inside Thrallmar Keep, Thrallmar
Objective: Collect 12 Bonechewer Blood Vials
Reward: 9550 experience, 250Thrallmar Rep and Desolation Rod if it's an upgrade. Choose the Hellfire Skiver for best vendor sell amount.

Once you have collected all your wood, metal and blood, make your way south, across the Path of Glory to The Legion Front. There you will be able to complete:
Tip: If you are having trouble collecting your blood, leave it for now as you will need to clear more Bonechewer Orcs for the next quest.
Quest: [61] Felspark Ravine
From: Sergeant Shatterskull at the Supply Caravan east of Thrallmar
Objective: Kill 4 Flamewaker Imps, 6 Infernal Warbringers and 1 Dreadcaller.
Reward: 9800 experience, 250 Thrallmar Rep and The Staff of Twin Worlds if it's an upgrade. Chose the Agamaggan's Quill for best vendor sell amount.

Be warned however, this can be a very frustrating area to fight in as you can get add, after add, after add. At least it does make for easy completion of the quest - by the time you can sit down, you're practically done! Once you have completed this quest, head back to Thrallmar to hand in.

After handing in you should have the next steps in your log:
  1. Forward Base: Reaver's Fall
  2. Apothecary Zelana
  3. Burn It Up... For the Horde!

Quest: [61] Burn It Up... For the Horde!
From: Megzeg Nukklebust outside Thrallmar Keep, Thrallmar
Objective: Use the Flaming Torch to burn the Eastern Alliance Cannon and the Western Alliance Cannon.
Reward: 9800 experience, 250 rep and Wanderer's Stitched Trousers. Choose Scale Brand Breastplate for highest vendor sell.

The Cannons you need to burn are back where you were obtaining your Bonechewer Blood if you went to the Alliance side of the path. (See spot 'c' on the map above). What you are looking for are basically siege tanks with towers put on them. The locations for each are:
  • Eastern Cannon: 61, 52
  • Western Cannon: 55, 54
As you come in off the path of glory, you will reach the eastern tower first - it's basically right up against the path. For the western tower, you need to head west, funny enough. There will be a big dip in the ground which you will need to go around. Don't go down, you can't get up the other side easily. Just across the dip is a cannon with big silver blades sticking up from some wreckage that's already on fire - this is not the cannon you need. You need to go past this cannon to the next one.

Don't worry about them being 'Alliance' cannons either, they won't flag you for PvP. To set them alight, you need to right click the torch in your inventory, not the cannons themselves. After you have burnt the cannons, make your way over to Reaver's Fall, located just behind where you collected the salvaged metal and wood from, you probably saw it while collecting. There you can hand in:
  1. Forward Base: Reaver's Fall: 975 experience and 10 Rep
  2. Apothecary Zelana: 2400 experience and 25 Rep
You will find Apothecary Zelana at the back behind the little tower/ruins there. When you hand in the bonechewer blood, you can pick up another quest:

Quest: [60] Spinebreaker Post
From: Apothecary Zelana, Reaver's Fall
Objective: Speak with Wing Commander Brack, take a wyvern to Spinebreaker Post, and then bring the Bleeding Hollow Blood Sample to Apothecary Albreck at Spinebreaker Post.
Reward: 2400 experience and 25 rep

For this, you need to speak to Wing Commander Brack who is a the front where all the Wyverns are flapping about. There won't be a question mark above him, but if you right click him, you can see the talk bubble. Clicking that will automatically be put on a wind rider and sent off to Spinebreaker post.
Tip: The second you land, grab the flight path! That way you won't accidentally leave without it - and yes, people have done that.
When you land, do a 180 and you will see Apothecary Albrek behind you. Hand in and collect the following quests:
  1. The Warp Rifts
  2. Make Them Listen
  3. Boiling Blood
  4. Preparing the Salve
  5. Wanted: Worg Master Kruush

Quest: [60] Boiling Blood
From: Apothecary Albreck, Spinebreaker Post
Objective: Gather 12 Boiled Blood
Reward: 9550 experience and 250 rep

Quest: [61] Preparing the Salve
From: Grelag, Spinebreaker Post
Objective: Gather 12 Hellfire Spineleaf plants
Reward: 9800 experience and 250 rep

Quest: [60] Wanted: Worg Master Kruush
From: Wanted Poster, Spinebreaker Post
Objective: Kill Worg Master Kruush and bring his head to Captain Darkhowl in Spinebreaker Post.
Reward: 9550 experience and 250 rep

Make your way east out of Spinebreaker post and you will come to Zeth'Gor and the Bleeding Hollow Orcs. If you kill your way into the base via the closest entrance to Spinebreaker post, head in and slightly to the left until you locate the stables. Pacing back and forth, you will find Worg Master Kruush and his two pet wolves - Ripp and Feng. All three come as one pull, but none of them are very hard, so just DoT and kill. You probably don't want to use Fear here unless it's extremely empty as you can get over whelmed very easily if you make too many friends.

Continue running around killing until you have collected 12 x Bleeding Hollow Blood which drops from all the mobs. While you are fighthing, be aware of any 'Eye of Grillok' that float around. They look just like the eye of killrogg, however they are not friendly and if you are 'spotted', it will attack you and call for the help of any friends it can.
Tip: The orcs run at low health and make friends very easily. Rank 1 Curse of Recklessness will come in very handy...
Once you have your 12 blood, make your way back out of the base and locate the cursed cauldron - location 65,71. Wowhead Map Location. You will probably need to clear a few mobs to get in close, but once you can, right click the cauldron to boil your blood. One click boils one blood, so you will need to do this twelve times. Each time you boil the blood, a bunch of cursed scarabs will spawn - most of them are yellow con and will ignore you, however you will get a few red aggressive ones. Being attacked stops you converting blood, so there's a few tricks to doing this:
  • You can right click as fast as you can to convert as many bloods as possible before being jumped, then kill off the scarabs.
  • Use your pet to kill while you convert - but be careful if it's the Felguard as his cleave will hit the non aggressive scarabs and only pull more.
  • You can escape the bugs by running up the hill right when you boil the blood. Wait for them to despawn then go do it again. It takes about 5-10 seconds for them to despawn.
  • Or, if you can get the right spot, you can stand at the very edge of the little hill near the cauldron, and boil your blood out of range of the scarabs
While you have been running around killing, you will hopefully have seen the Hellfire Spineleaf plants on the ground (they sparkle!) and looted your 12 needed. After you have boiled your blood and collected your spineleaf, head back to Spinebreaker post and hand in all three quests. Collect the following:
  1. Apothecary Zelana
  2. Apothecary Antonivich
  3. Zeth'Gor Must Burn!
  4. The Eyes of Grillok
Quest: [61] Zeth'Gor Must Burn!
From: Captain Darkhowl, Spinebreaker Post
Objective: Burn the Zeth'Gor hovels, stable and barracks
Reward: 9800 experience, 250 Rep, 2 gold and Infiltrator's Cloak. (Even if not an upgrade, has highest sell amount)

Quest: [62] The Eyes of Grillok
From: Zezzak, Spinebreaker Post
Objective: Capture an Eye of Grillok, return and use Zezzak's cauldron to extract it.
Reward: 5000 experience, 75 Rep and 1g 40s

Once you have collected your quests, sold up any loot etc, head back to Zeth'Gor. You now need to kill the Bleeding Hollow Peons until you have looted 4 x Bleeding Hollow torches. They are a random drop, so you won't get it off every kill, but they drop fairly regularly. Once you have the 4 torches, head into the base (if you're not already there) and light them at the forge. The easiest way I found to do it, was run to the complete opposite (north) side of the base from Spinebreaker and start killing in that way. This brings you in just in front of the forge and right beside the Eastern Hovel.

Note: The lit torches have a 5 minute timer, so you will want to either collect and light them all at once, or light and set a building alight immediately. You also need to be quite close to the forge to light the torches. The buildings on the other hand don't require you to stand as close, you can hurl the torches from quite a few feet away. The locations you need are:
  • Forge: 69,69 which is just inside the gates on the north side
  • Eastern Hovel: 69,70 just to the right of the forge
  • Western Hovel: 67,7 over the other side of the base, in front of the main large building
  • Barracks: 69,76 is the main large building
  • Stables: 68,73 where you killed Worg Master Kruush.
Remember to keep your eyes open for an Eye of Grillok, only this time you want to capture it, not kill it. In order to do this, target the eye and right click Zezzak's Shard from your inventory (or hot bar if you have moved it there). The eye will attack you as the green 'drain life' like channel begins to absorb it. Hold your ground, because after about 5 seconds you absorb the eye.
Tip: There are plenty of eyes patrolling the entire Zeth'gor area, so no need to head into the barracks to find one. Just stand beside any of the roads inside the camp and wait for a bit, and one will come by.
The eye remains with in you for 5 minutes, so only do this when you are ready to head back to Spinebreaker post already, or do it first before you get too deep into the base. Also, every 10 seconds or so, the Eye you have absorbed will send out a little eye to the nearest mob, aggroing it. Another reason you want to do it last or first... Return to Spinebreaker Post (you can use your mount) and stand in front of the cauldron that Zezzak is beside and the eye will be pulled from you. Once it does, speak to Zezzak to hand in. Handing in gives you the next step:

Quest: [62] Grillok "Darkeye"
From: Zezzak, Spinebreaker Post
Objective: Kill Grillok Darkeye and return Grillok's Eyepatch to Zezzak
Reward: 12600 experience, 350 Rep, 5g 40s and Goldweave Tunic. Gilded Crimson Chestplate for vendor sale.

You will find Grillok Darkeye inside the cave near the Cursed Cauldron you used earlier. The quest is marked as *group*, however it is easily solo-able. Grillok has two guards in front of him, which you can pull separately and kill first. Neither the guards nor Grillok are elite, however don't be surprised when Grillok doesn't drop quickly, he is still sitting around 12,000 hit points. Grillok is a Shaman and likes to use Lighting Bolt, Grounding Totems and Fire-Nova Totems. He will also run when he is about to die, so make sure the entrance to the cave is clear.
Tip: If you're not following this guide quest for quest and have completed Honor the Fallen, you can equip the sword or stave you get as a reward and while fighting Darkeye, 2 x Unyielding knights spawn to lend a hand. Note that you must swing at Grillok with the quest weapon for the knights to spawn; equipping it isn't enough.
Once you have his eyepatch, either complete burning your buildings or return and hand in if done.

Quest: [61] Make Them Listen
From: Emissary Mordiba, Spinebreaker Post
Objective: Kill 12 Unyielding Footmen, 8 Unyielding Knights, and 6 Unyielding Sorcerers
Reward: 9800 experience, 250 Rep and 2g

If you head directly west out of Spinebreaker Post, you will be able to see the stone walls of the Expedition Armory. As you approach it you will see a line of Footmen (providing there are no other people fighting there) and some mounted Knights walking back and forth. You will find the Sorcerers inside the walls, along with some more Knights if you need them. Be aware that the Knights outside the walls charge you, interrupting any non instant spell you might be casting - I found the ones inside the walls didn't seem to do this. They all however call for help when low on health, so fight them away from other mobs unless you're happy to be fighting multiples at once.
A Mysterious Tome
While you are fighting, you should hopefully have one of these drop. Right clicking gives you the quest: Decipher the Tome which asks you to take the Mysterious Tome to Althen the Historian in Spinebreaker Post. Rewards you with 975 experience and 10 rep, but is also the beginning of a quest chain.
Once you have completed your kill count, return to Spinebreaker Post and hand in. IF you looted a Mysterious Tome, you will be able to complete the following 3 quests:

Quest: [61] The Battle Horn
From: Althen the Historian, Spinebreaker Post
Objective: Loot the Unyielding Battle Horn from Lieutenant Commander Thalvos
Reward: 9800 experience and 250 Rep

Make your way back to Expedition Armory, but instead of going in, this time you want to make your way around the left (west) side of the main wall. Doing this puts you almost directly in front of Thalvos who you should be able to just see on a platform in front of the fire. He is a ghostly looking Dwarf - however he won't PvP flag you. Coordinates are 55, 84. Very easy kill, and once dead loot the battle horn and exit the area the same way you came in. Return the horn to Althen and pick up the next step:

Quest: [61] Bloody Vengeance
From: Althen the Historian, Spinebreaker Post
Objective: Summon and kill Urtrak
Reward: 9800 experience and 250 Rep

For this step you want to head east out of Spinebreaker, as if you were heading back to Zeth'Gor. You can see the siege tower the banner is located at, as you leave Spinebreaker Post, very easy to spot. Clear any immediate mobs so you can stand at the base of the flag and blow your horn (heh). The horn is instant cast and will spawn Urthrak at the top of the stairs. As he charges towards you, 10 or so ghosts spawn and will help you kill Urthrak and any other Orcs that happen to jump you. Once you have killed, return and hand in.

Possible Bug: There seems to be some varied reports when it comes to the ghosts spawning... some say they got them, others claim they didn't. The trick seems to be allowing Urtrak to come to the bottom of the stairs before you engage.

Quest: [61] Honor the Fallen
From: Althen the Historian, Spinebreaker Post
Objective: Report to Commander Hogarth in the Expedition Armory.
Reward: 9800 experience, 250 Rep and Rod of the Unyielding. (Even if not an upgrade, has highest sell amount)

Heading back to the Expedition Armory once again, this time you want to head to the single tower you can see just to the right of the main stone wall. After you have cleared your way inside, you will find Commander Hogarth. All done! I won't ruin the surprise, but just let you know to not get a fright.

Quest: [61] Investigate the Crash
From: Grelag, Spinebreaker Post
Objective: Oddly enough... investigate the crash.
Reward: 2400 experience

As the quest states, you're looking for a crashed goblin zeppelin. You will find it at location 49,74. Coming from Spinebreaker Post, you can run a straight line North-West which brings you directly to the crash site, but also takes you through the Expedition Armory. It's an easy enough run to make if you have your epic mount already - just dodge the Knights outside the main walls as they charge and stun you. Everything else however struggles to keep up. If you are a bit nervous about running straight through, or you don't have your epic yet, you can safely run around to the right.

Once you locate the crash site, hand in and collect the following In Case of Emergency... and Ravager Egg Roundup.

Quest: [61] The Warp Rifts
From: Ogath the Mad, Spinebreaker Post
Objective: Collect 3 Warp Nethers
Reward: 9800 experience, 250 Rep and 2g

From the crash site, make your way South (and a weee bit west) until you find yourself in The Warp Fields. Once your mini map location changes, you can right click the Warp Rift Generator from your inventory - Note: You may need to move around a bit until the targeting cursor turns green and allows you to place the generator. Back up a little bit so you don't get overwhelmed with too many mobs, as the Voidwalkers will continue to spawn until the rift is closed, although with the benefit of Banish, it's a bit easier for us Warlocks. So long as you're killing the Voidwalkers that spawn from his rift, you will get a Warp Nether each time - so that's 3 kills. Once the portal closes any leftover Unstable Voidwalkers will despawn.

Quest: [61] Ravager Egg Roundup
From: Legassi at the Zeppelin Crash
Objective: Retrieve 12 Ravager Eggs
Reward: 9800 experience and 5 x Ravager Egg Omelet

After you have collected your Warp Nethers, make your way West, through the gap in the wall and follow the path. You will eventually start to see some Ravagers on either side of the path you are on, and if you look around the base of the plants/trees, you should be able to see the eggs you need to loot. They do also drop off the Quillfang Ravagers, however the drop rate is too low to worry about killing them especially for the eggs. Once you have gathered your 12 eggs, head back to the Zepplin Crash and hand them in.

Quest: [61] Helboar, the Other White Meat
From: Legassi at the Zeppelin Crash
Objective: Gather 8 Purified Helboar Meat
Reward: 9800 experience, 2g and 5 x Helboar Bacon

Quest: [61] In Case of Emergency...
From: "Screaming" Screed Luckheed at the Zeppelin Crash
Objective: Collect 30 pieces of Zeppelin Debris
Reward: 9800 experience and 2g. No cloth rewards, so take the Flintlocke's Piloting Pants for highest vendor sale.

Any Helboars in the zone can be killed for this quest, and you will find some all around the crash site for easy pickings. Each Helboar will drop a Tainted Hellboar Meat, and you need to right click the Purification Mixture (given to you) to attempt to purify (or toxify!) the meat. The conversion rate for me was quite good and it didn't take long to complete this at all. While you are killing, keep your eye out for the Zeppelin Debris and collect any you can find - although you won't get all in one go, especially not around the crash site.
Note: You can't right click the Purification Mixture if your inventory is full...
Once you have all your Purified Helboar Meat, return to Legassi to hand in and collect the next step. If you need to clear your inventory (which I did by this point), head back to Spinebreaker Post and sell up. You can also hand in The Warp Rifts while you're there. Make sure to collect the next step: Void Ridge

Quest: [61] Smooth as Butter
From: Legassi at the Zeppelin Crash
Objective: Collect 12 Plump Buzzard Wings
Reward: 9800 experience, 2g, 5 x Buzzard Bites and Recipe: Buzzard Bites

If you are coming from Spinebreaker Post after selling up, you can head straight north to the Buzzards, or if you are coming from the Zeppelin Crash site, it's to the east. You are looking for a big long ditch in the ground and the mini area of the 'Valley of Bones'. You can't miss it - lots of bones, lots of Buzzards! There you can run up and down killing the Buzzards for the Wings, and picking up any Zeppelin Debris you can see. Here is where you will get the remaining (and the majority) of the Debris... makes you wonder what caused the big crevice in the ground doesn't it?

Once you have all your Buzzard Wings and Debris, return to the crash site and hand in.

Quest: [61] Voidwalkers Gone Wild
From: "Screaming" Screed Luckheed at the Zeppelin Crash
Objective: Collect 10 Condensed Voidwalker Essences
Reward: 9800 experience, 2g and Hypnotist's Watch

Return to The Warp Fields and start killing any Rogue or Uncontrolled Voidwalkers to get your essence - these are different to the ones you summoned earlier. If you are having trouble finding any due to others fighting in the area at the same time, make your way to the other side of the wall where you went to get your ravager eggs as there are more Voidwalkers there.

Once you have collected your Essences, head back to the crash site to hand in.

Now make your way back to Spinebreaker and take a flight back to Thrallmar and hand in Burn It Up... For the Horde!, and Apothecary Antonivich. To find Antonivich, you need to take the path leading up past the forge and into the round building at the top. Location is 52,36

Run around and collect all the new available quests. They are:
  1. A Burden of Souls
  2. Falcon Watch
  3. The Assassin

Quest: [62] Disrupt Their Reinforcements
From: Forward Commander To'arch, Reaver's Fall
Objective: Disrupt Portal Xilus and Portal Kruul
Reward: 10050 experience, 250 Rep, 2g 70s and Shadowbrim Travel Hat. Fire Scarred Breastplate for vendor sale.

Make your way back out of Thrallmar to Reaver's Fall and hand in Forward Base: Reaver's Fall. Continue East out of Reaver's Fall and you will find the 1st portal: Xilus. Start killing the surrounding demons (Felhandlers, etc) until you have collected 4 x Demonic Runes, where upon you want to clear the portal, stand in the center and right click to disrupt it. Right click the portal, not the stones. A little further North and you will find the 2nd portal: Kruul. Again, kill the surrounding demons until you have your 4 Demonic Runes and disrupt the portal. Once you are done with both portals, return to To'arch and hand in.
Tip: Remember, as a Warlock, we can banish the Felhunter pets. Also, watch out for the level 60 Elites: Felgaurd Destroyer that patrol the area.
Portal Locations:
  • Xilus - 70,45
  • Kruul - 74,38
Quest: [62] Mission: Gateways Murketh and Shaadraz
From: Forward Commander To'arch, Reaver's Fall
Objective: Bomb Gateway Murketh and Gateway Shaadraz
Reward: 12600 experience, 350 Rep. No cloth rewards so take Protectorate Breastplate for highest vendor sale

Once you have accepted this step, you need to speak to Wing Commander Brack who is just to the right of To'arch. He won't actually have a question mark, but if you right click him you will see the text, 'I'm on a bombing mission...' By clicking that text you will be automatically placed on a Wyvern and flown directly through the middle of the two gateways. As you start flying, right click the bomb from your inventory and get your mouse ready. As you see the gateways approaching, you want to be mousing over the one on your right (Shaadraz) first, and when the targeting circle turns green, drop your bomb. Wait for the bomb to cool down and then get ready again - you'll do a loop around and then be flown through Murketh.

If you miss one or both or the gateways, don't worry, you can just speak to Brack once you land and take another flight for a second attempt. Once you have bombed both, speak to To'arch to hand in.

Quest: [62] Mission: The Abyssal Shelf
From: Forward Commander To'arch, Reaver's Fall
Objective: Destroy 20 Gan'arg Peons, 5 Mo'arg Overseers and 5 Fel Cannons.
Reward: 10050 experience, 250 Rep, Whispering Tunic. Skyfire Greaves for highest vendor sale.

Time for some FUN! If you've ever heard people talking about 'the bombing runs', this is most likely what they are referring to. Once again you want to speak to Wing Commander Brack and borrow one of his Wyverns. This time it will fly you over The Abyssal Shelf where you have to destroy as much as possible! Like the previous step, don't worry if you don't get everything in one go, you can simply fly a second (or third) time and take out what ever you missed the first time.

Tips:
  • Don't be picky with where you drop your bombs - fire as soon as it cools down.
  • Clumps are great, but don't stress too much. You're going to hit peons no matter what you do, so aim for the overseers and cannons.
  • the "out of range" indicator (the zero with slash through it) lies, you can actually drop on stuff a little farther out even if your targeting indicator says you can't.

Quest: [61] Void Ridge
From: Ogath the Mad in Spinebreaker Post.
Objective: Collect 40 Void Ridge Soul Shards
Reward: 9800 experience, 250 Rep and 2g

Void Ridge is pretty much half way between Reaver's Fall and Spinebreaker Post, so it's up to you if you want to run straight there, or if you want to run back to Thrallmar and then fly to Spinebreaker Post. I ran. It's not a hard run, just dodge the demons and be aware that there is a mini Alliance post you will skim - with an epic mount they don't catch you. To get to Void Ridge you need to run through a dip in the mountains (see map). Once there are two types of mobs you can kill to get the specified quest item:
  1. Collapsing Voidwalker
These will self destruct at 10% hp, or simply blow up if you kill them yourself. If you are in melee range you will take roughly 1500 damage. Killing them or getting them to 10% with a ranged attack is your best bet. You will see when they are going to collapse as they have a cast bar telling you so - run away when this happens.
  2. Vacillating Voidwalker
These ones just have a shadowbolt spam attack for roughly 500 damage per hit. Kill them ASAP. Note that the first school of spell that damages them, makes them immune to said school. So if you are going to Shadowbolt them - cast a fire spell first.
Each Voidwalker can drop multiple shards, usually dropping 3 each time. All the voidwalkers move around, so if you are worried about taking on more than you can handle, just pull them back to the edge of the path you came in from and you will be safe to fight one at a time. Once you have all your shards, return to Spinebreaker Post and hand in.

Quest: [63] From the Abyss
From: Ogath the Mad in Spinebreaker Post.
Objective: Kill Void Baron Galaxis and collect his soul shard
Reward: 10400 experience, 250 Rep, 2g 90s and Rod of the Void Caller (Also Highest Vendor Sale)

Head back to Void Ridge, only this time you want to head across to your right as you enter it and keep going until you can see some pink coloured crystals off to your left, along the edge of the cliff face. You will want to clear the area first, then, when ready, right click the generator to summon Galaxis. This is where the fight can get tricky - sometimes he will summon two adds, sometimes he won't. There is a rumour that if you attack him, especially with a stun (ala the Felguard's Intercept) before he reaches the ground, that he won't summon the adds, but this hasn't been confirmed. Doesn't hurt to try though...

The adds themselves are easy kills, and you will want to bring them down first as Galaxis will absorb them when he gets low on health, which does kill them but also heals him... to full. You don't want to be killing him three times if you can help it. Either way it's an easy fight, and once you're done, head back and hand in. Then, return to Thrallmar, sell up, hand in and pick up any new quests.

Quest: [61] A Burden of Souls
From: Apothecary Antonivich in Thrallmar
Objective: Kill 20 Shattered Hand orcs
Reward: 9800 experience, 250 Rep and 2g

A very easy kill quest. You will find the Shattered Hand orcs along the Path of Glory. You can start at the top and fight your way down, or jump down the cliffs anywhere you want. Just be aware if you do that, there are little camps along the sides of the roads which have 3 - 4 mobs at them. Once you have killed all, return and hand in.

Quest: [61] The Demoniac Scryer
From: Apothecary Antonivich in Thrallmar
Objective: Use the Demoniac Scryer in Hellfire Basin, wait for it to attune, and then take a reading.
Reward: 12200 experience, 4g, 350 Rep and Demoniac Soul Prison

Although this quest is marked as a group quest, recommending at least two players, it is extremely easy to solo, especially as a Warlock. Make your way down into the Hellfire Basin on the opposite side of the dividing wall you were killing the Shattered Hand Orcs at before. I've outlined on the map below the way to get down, there is a dip in the cliffs you can run down instead of having to go all the way to the end. You need to be fairly close to the wall in order to use the Demoniac Scryer, so if you are having trouble planting it, move around a bit.
Tip: If you see someone else currently doing this quest, you can speak to their Scryer once it's complete.
When you use the Demoniac Scryer, a single shard will spawn. As it's doing it's thing, Imps will spawn and attack it - you need to kill the Imps. Sometimes a Hellfire warding or an an Orc spawns with an add spawns, easy to kill. The spawn rate is slow enough that you shouldn't have any trouble, and all die with ease. Unfortunately the Imp's aren't banishable, but they are all fearable and you're in a mob free area so fear away.

You'll see four purple rocks connected by a drain soul hot pink line will spawn, and eventually it will start shooting off all sorts of purple rocks. When it's doing this (see last pic), you can right click the shard to finish the quest. Doing this will give a two minute buff icon which is simply the shard having a look around your insides - you don't need to hand in with in the two minute time frame.

When you are done, return to Thrallmar and hand in.

Quest: [61] Forge Camp: Mageddon
From: Nazgrel in Thrallmar
Objective: Attack Forge Camp: Mageddon, kill 10 Gan'arg Servants and return with the head of Razorsaw.
Reward: 9800 experience, 250 Rep and 2g

For this quest, you want to head up behind Thrallmar to location 63,27. If you can see a lot of 'Sister of Grief' Succubus looking mobs, you're at the right spot. You are looking for the small hooded guys, usually found around the machinery parts - these are the Gan'arg Servants. Walking big loops you will see larger, uglier and a whole lot meaner looking guys - Mo'Arg Forgefiends and Razorsaw. There can be multiple Forgefiends in amongst there, so make sure you check who you have targeted before you pull.
Tip: Watch out for the Fel Cannons if you start fighting in near them - they will attack you and can aggro a lot of friends. It's best to try to pull back as much as possible to avoid any extra fighting from the cannons or Forgefiends.
Once you have killed your 10 Gan'arg Servants and obtained the head of Razorsaw, return to Nazgrel, hand in and collect the next step. Note: When you kill Razorsaw, you will loot a Burning Legion Missive. Right click this to obtain the quest Vile Plans which simply requires you to hand in to Magister Bloodhawk in Thrallmar, next to Nazgrel.

Quest: [61] Cannons of Rage
From: Nazgrel in Thrallmar
Objective: Destroy 3 Fel Cannon MKIs in Forge Camp: Rage
Reward: 9800 experience, 250 Rep and 2g

This time you want to head to the next camp left of Mageddon - Forge Camp: Rage. Surrounded by lots of Forge Camp Legionnaire's, the cannons are around the edge (cliff) section. Note: Destroying the cannons at the Mageddon camp also appears to work. This may be an option as it is less crowded with mobs, and thus you have much lower chance of being swarmed, plus the succubus mobs are easier to kill than the felguard sentries. But then again, it's further to run... :-p

Quest: [61] Doorway to the Abyss
From: Nazgrel in Thrallmar
Objective: Slay Arix'Amal to get the Burning Legion Gate Key. Use the Burning Legion Gate Key on the Rune of Spite.
Reward: 9800 experience, 250 Rep and 2g

The last step of this quest line requires you to head up to Invasion Point: Annihilator. Be warned this is a slightly harder step given the last two, so don't go rushing blindly in. You'll find Arix'Amal towards the back of the camp, around location 53,26 standing in front of a large structure. You will not only want to clear the mobs around him, but continue looking around as well as there are mobs that walk and can sneak up when you least expect it. Arix can be a bit of a pain to pull as he seems to not want to venture far from his post and attempts to pull him too far back will only see him drop aggro and return there. That said, you also don't want to fight him where he stands because he respawns almost instantly...

Once you have killed him, you need to clear your way into the gate near him (53,28). The gate can be really tricky to close, and you might have to play with your camera angles to get it. You need to right click the disc floating above your head, not the floor. I had to come in from the south side in order to be able to click it. Once you have, haul your hiney out of there and back to the safety of Thrallmar to hand in.

Pick up:
Beside the building Nazgrel is in, you will see a path that leads around the side of Thrallmar to a mine and Foreman Razelcraz. Make your way around there to complete his quests:

Quest: [61] Outland Sucks!
From: Foreman Razelcraz by the mine northwest of Thrallmar
Objective: Find 6 Shredder Parts
Reward: 9800 experience, 2g and 5 x Fel Iron Ore

There's a small depression just south-west of Razelcraz where you will find small wooden boxes. These boxes have the Shredder parts in them. Pay attention to the bouncing rocks as you are collecting and you can avoid fighting the Marauding Crust Busters if you don't want to fight them. After you have collected all 6, return to Razelcraz and hand in.
If you do kill the Marauding Crust Busters, they can drop an Eroded Leather Case which gives you the quest: Missing Missive. All you need to do is return the Eroded Leather Case to Thiah Redmane at the Cenarion Post, which you will be passing later on anyway and you will receive 9800 experience, 2g and some faction. Not bad for killing a couple of worms...
Quest: [61] How to Serve Goblins
From: Foreman Razelcraz
Objective: Rescue Manni, Moh and Jakk from the Fel Orc camps
Reward: 9800 experience, 2g and 2 x Peon Sleep Potion

From Razelcraz you want to make your way to the broken wall dividing the zone. The first camp/tents you come to (45, 41) has Manni, so clear your way in and right click the cage to rescue him. Next you want to cross the path to the other side where you find Moh (46, 45) followed by Jakk a little further up (47, 46). Very easy. (map locations) Once you have rescued them all, return to Razelcraz and hand in.

Quest: [61] Shizz Work
From: Foreman Razelcraz
Objective: Find some eaten keys!
Reward: 9800 experience, 4g and 5 x Ez-Thro Dynamite II

This is a super fun quest... although I've been told I'm a bit odd, so you might not find it so enjoyable. Razelcraz will give you a Felhound Whistle which you want to right click at his feet to summon a Fel Guard Hound. He will follow you as you kill Deranged Helboars where, upon their death, the hound will sniff, eat and poop! It's now your job to sift through the 'leavings' (right click) in the hopes of finding the Shredder Keys he devoured. And it makes perfect sense when you receive the the buff "Stanky; You smell funny" which gives you a green smoke cloud around you...
Tip: The Hound will eat pigs killed by other players if you walk him over to the corpses.
Quest: [61] Beneath Thrallmar
From: Foreman Razelcraz
Objective: Kill Urga'zz
Reward: 9800 experience, 2g and Deep Core Lantern. Shatterstone Pick for vendor sale.

After you have found the Shredder Keys and handed in, the next step requires you to head into the Mine Razelcraz is standing out the front of and kill in until you locate Urga'zz. Kill him, return and hand in. Too easy...

Quest: [62] The Assassin
From: Nazgrel, Thrallmar
Objective: Travel to the road north of Hellfire Citadel and look for an assassin named Krun Spinebreaker
Reward: 10050 experience and 250 Rep

The quest coined as "Mankirk in Outlands", requires you to find the dead body of an assassin with the name "Fel Orc Corpse". To find the corpse, follow the top road leading out of Thrallmar and continue along the path that goes past the Pools of Aggonar. Keep going past the pools and when you reach a wooden-spike barricade start veering off to your right, where, around the corner should be the dead orc corpse. A quest icon won't show on your map as you need to walk over to the corpse to 'complete' the find section, but if you follow the edge of the mountain base, you will find it in the first dip/alcove area. Once you locate the corpse, the quest completes and the silver question mark turns gold and you are able to hand in and collect the next step. (map location of corpse)

Quest: [62] A Strange Weapon
From: The Fel Orc Corpse
Objective: Bring the Heavy Stone Axe to Nazgrel in Thrallmar
Reward: 10050 experience, 2g 70s and 250 Rep

This step simply requires you to return to Nazgrel in Thrallmar, however before you go running back there, face south and you should be able to see a tall building with what looks like a feather on the top. That is Falcon Watch - another outpost for us Horde. Since you will need to get the flight path and quests there eventually, you can make the run now. Then from there, simply fly to Thrallmar and hand in.

If you have the room in your quest log, collect:
  1. Arelion's Journal
  2. Source the Corruption
  3. In need of Felblood
  4. Magic of the Arakkoa
  5. Trueflight Arrows
  6. Birds of a Feather
  7. Helping the Cenarion Post
  8. WANTED: Blacktalon the Savage
You can also hand in Falcon Watch which is at the top, in the building next to the flight path with the wanted poster out the front. In order to reach the person you need to hand into, you need to right click the Orb of Translocation in the center. This will take you to the top and Ranger Captain Venn'ren to hand in.

Collect:
  1. The Great Fissure
  2. Report to Zurai
To get back down, click the orb at the top. Or you can jump, but it's a long fall so ensure you have full health...

Once you're ready, fly back to Thrallmar and hand in to Nazgrel. Handing in will give you The Warchief's Mandate which simply requires you to head outside and hand the axe over to Far Seer Regulkut. Doing that gives you:

Quest: [62] A Spirit Guide
From: Far Seer Regulkut, Thrallmar
Objective: Use the Wolf Totem and follow the Ancestral Spirit Wolf.
Reward: 10050 experience and 700 reputation with the Mag'har

As the quest states, you need to head back to the Fel Orc Corpse and then use the Wolf Totem (right click it). This will summon an Ancestral Spirit Wolf which you follow. The wolf will lead you to the Mag'har Post, however if you have done this quest before, don't charge on ahead of the wolf as you require the aura the wolf gives off in order to hand in - the same goes for making sure you hand in as soon as you get there. The wolf does despawn eventually and you will need to refollow him. The good news however is you can mount up to do this!

Quest: [62] The Mag'har
From: Gorkan Bloodfist at the Mag'har Post
Objective: Deliver the Letter from the Mag'har to Nazgrel at Thrallmar
Reward: 10050 experience and 250 Rep

Another simple delivery quest, however before you run straight back to Thrallmar, run east to where the cliffs drop down over the Pools of Aggonar. There is a way to get down the cliffs with little jumps, just look for the landings - they are more south than north. If you can get to the bottom in one piece, you can do the following:

Quest: [61] The Agony and the Darkness
From: Magister Bloodhawk, Falcon Watch
Objective: Kill 10 Terrorfiends
Reward: 9800 experience, 2g and 250 Rep

Quest: [62] In Need of Felblood
From: Ryathen the Somber at Falcon Watch
Objective: Collect 6 Felblood Samples
Reward: 10050 experience, 2g 70s and 250 Rep

Quest: [62] Arelion's Journal
From: Magistrix Carinda at Falcon Watch
Objective: Retrieve Arelion's Journal
Reward: 10050 experience, 2g 70s and 250 Rep

All three quests can be done at the Pools of Aggonar. The Terrorfiends are all around, however there is a large concentration of them on around the big stage thing at the end to either side of it, handy as there are less oozes there to annoy you. You will most likely need to kill more than the 10 required for the kill quest as these are also required for the Felblood Samples.

While you are making your way to the end for the easy Terrorfiend kills, keep your eyes open along the middle of the water section for a Slime Covered Body - a dead Blood Elf. You can make a macro /tar slime if you are having trouble locating it. Near the body will be a bag hanging from a tree, which if you right click will give you Arelion's Journal. It does also have a chance to drop from the oozes, but unless you get really lucky and get it while killing to the bag, that is most likely the way you will obtain it.
Note: The bag you loot it from can also contain 'junk' items, so double check you have looted it before you run off. Sometimes people will loot only the book, leaving the junk there. Everything needs to be cleared from the bag in order for it to respawn with a new book.
Once you're done at the pools, continue to Thrallmar and hand in The Agony and the Darkness and The Mag'har. The next step of the Mag'har chain requires you to go to Orgimmar and speak to Thrall, which you can do at the 'end' of your day - just don't forget. And be sure to stay and watch the interactions that happen upon handing in! For now though, fly back to Falcon Watch and hand in the three quests you just completed.
Tip: If you have friends who can help, you can complete Cruel's Intentions which requires you to kill Arazzius the Cruel - he is at the end of the Pools of Aggonar.
Quest: [62] Arelion's Secret
From: Magistrix Carinda at Falcon Watch
Objective: Interrogate Magister Aledis
Reward: 7600 experience and 150 reputation with Silvermoon City

After you hand in Arelion's Journal, the next step requires you to track down Magister Aledis and interrogate him. Aledis walks to the path from Falcon Watch to Zangamarsh, so head out and stick to the path until you find him. He won't show up on your mini map, nor have a question mark above him, so look for a Blood Elf riding a red and purple Hawkstrider. (image) As he is killable by the Alliance, if you find his corpse, he respawns back in Falcon Watch, so return and wait. When you locate him, alive, right click to talk to him. This will cause Aledis to get slightly upset and attack you - start attacking back. About 20% health, he will realise just how powerful Warlocks are and will cease attacking you, spill the beans on the mistress and offer you the next step: The Mistress Revealed, which simply requires you to return to Carinda at Falcon Watch.
Note: Attacking Aledis, which is unavoidable, will flag you for PvP. If you are unsure, wait and fight him near Falcon Watch so you can run to safety.
Quest: [63] Trueflight Arrows
From: Falconer Drenna Riverwind at Falcon Watch
Objective: Gather 8 Bonestripper Tail Feathers
Reward: 10400 experience and 250 reputation with Silvermoon City

As you are running back to Falcon Watch, you should pass a large carcass swarming with Bonestripper Vultures - location 29,54. Stop here and kill until you have your 8 tail feathers, and then continue onto Falcon Watch. If someone is already fighting at this location, there is another swarm of Vultures located at 21,51.

Quest: [62] Arelion's Mistress
From: Magistrix Carinda at Falcon Watch
Objective: Lure Viera Sunwhisper away and use Carinda's Scroll of Retribution on her.
Reward: 12600 experience, 5g 40s, 150 rep with Silvermoon and Carinda's Wedding Band (guess she doesn't want it anymore...)

This step requires you to lure 'that filthy wench' Viera Sunwhisper away from the settlement. In order to do this however, you need to obtain some Cenarion Spirits, which can is sold by the Inn Keeper at Cenarion Refuge just inside the Zangarmarsh border. The quest chain ends at this step, and as far as I am aware, it's not a prerequisite for anything, so you can do this step later if you wish. I chose to do it now to get it out of my log, and also because you can hand in and complete a couple of other quest while you are running around.

From Falcon Watch, follow the path up to the main road area, turning left and continuing west. About three quarters along, you will find Cenarion Post located behind a hill - keep an eye on your mini map as the question marks will show as you get closer. Here you can hand in Helping the Cenarion Post and Missing Missive if you happened to loot the Eroded Leather Case while doing the quests for Foreman Razelcraz. While you are here, collect:
  1. Colossal Menace
  2. Demonic Contamination
  3. Keep Thornfang Hill Clear
  4. The Cenarion Expedition
Once you have those in your log, continue west towards the Zangarmarsh zone line.

Quest: [63] Keep Thornfang Hill Clear
From: Mahuram Stouthoof at the Cenarion Post
Objective: Kill 8 Thornfang Ravagers and 8 Thornfang Venomspitters
Reward: 10400 experience, 2g 90s and 250 reputation with Cenarion Expedition

Thornfang Hill is where Zangarmarsh and Hellfire Peninsula meet, so since we're going to be crossing through there anyway, we can take our time a little and kill the Ravagers for this quest. The Ravagers are found both sides of the path - the Venomspitters being the smaller, while the Ravagers are the larger mobs. I personally found the right (north) side of the path to be the easiest to fight on, less mobs grouped together. Once you have completed your kill count, continue through to Zangarmarsh and Cenarion Refuge which you can just see as you enter the zone.

When you arrive, locate the Inn and Innkeeper Coryth Stoktron, he has the Cenarion Spirits you seek. On a balcony at the back of the Inn you will find Ysiel Windsinger - hand in The Cenarion Expedition. Also grab the quest Warden Hamoot as you will find him located at the top of the tower opposite the Inn. It's a free 1100 experience. Don't worry about collecting his follow up quest, or any of the other quests on offer, those will be done later. For now, run back to Falcon Watch via the Cenarion Post to hand in Thornfang Hill.

Once you return to Falcon Watch, locate Viera Sunwhisper who is sitting on the ground at the base of the path leading up to the Flight Master. She will have a blue question mark above her head. Accept the quest Life's Finer Pleasures which requires you to follow Viera after giving her the wine. The little lush will take you just outside of Falcon Watch, to a 'perfect spot' to drink the wine. When you see the animation of her drinking from the bottle of wine (classy girls don't use glasses), right click the Scroll of Retribution. I won't ruin what happens next...

Once complete, return and hand in.
Note: If you haven't done so already, run up the Mag'har Post and hand in Envoy to the Mag'har which was given to you by Thrall. Requires you to you to return to Gorkan Bloodfist at Mag'har Post and offer him your 'services'. Once you have handed in, turn around and pick up the quest offered by Earthcaller Ryga.
Quest: [62] Magic of the Arakkoa
From: Arcanist Calesthris Dawnstar at Falcon Watch
Objective: Collect 4 Haal'eshi Scrolls
Reward: 10050 experience, 2g 70 and 250 reputation with Silvermoon City

Quest: [62] Birds of a Feather
From: Falconer Drenna Riverwind at Falcon Watch
Objective: Capture a Female Kaliri Hatchling
Reward: 10050 experience, 2g 70s and 250 reputation with Silvermoon City

Heading directly south out of Falcon Watch, you will drop down into The Great Fissure and then into the Den of Haal'esh. You should be able to see the bird-men called Haal'esh Tolonguard and Windwalkers. These drop the Haal'eshi scrolls you need. If you fight down the main path, you should see a cave off to your right with more Haal'esh mobs, as well as some birds. The birds are guarding small, red glowing nests, which you need to open in the hopes of a Female Kaliri Hatchling, although more often than not, it will be the Male that you spawn. Kill any male hatchlings that spawn as they are no use to us. When a female hatchling finally spawns, right click the 'Empty Birdcage' in your inventory to capture it.

The reason you want to fight into the cave is there is 3 nests in there which gives you three chances for the female in a relatively short time spawn. But more importantly however, is the cage at the southern end that houses a Wounded Blood Elf Pilgrim.
Quest: [63] The Road to Falcon Watch
From: A Wounded Blood Elf Pilgrim
Objective: Escort the Wounded Blood Elf Pilgrim back to Falcon Watch
Reward: 10400 experience, 2g 90s and 250 reputation with Silvermoon City

This is an escort quest, and although it states for 2 players, it is very easy to solo. Accept the quest from the Blood Elf, and she will leave her cage, then leave the cave via the closest (back) exit. If there are no other players around, a good trick is to leave the two lasts nests near her cage and open them once you accept this quest. The Pilgrim fights alongside you, so is added, free damage to help you kill!

When you reach the end of the main walkway area, she will stop and two Haal'esh will attack from behind. Very easy to dispatch of. After they are dead, the Blood Elf will continue towards Falcon Watch, stop again and a single Haal'esh will spawn. Again, very easy. Next it's straight onto Falcon Watch where she will collapse, and you are complete.

Make your way back to the Den of Haal'esh and continue getting your scrolls or the Female Hatchling.

Quest: [63] Avruu's Orb
From: Avruu's Orb, looted from Avruu
Objective: Take the orb to the Haal'eshi Altar and give it to Aeranas
Reward: 10400 experience and Windtalker's Cloak (Signet of Aeranas for vendor sale)

When you head back the second time, run past the cave, and just after the second entrance/exit, you should see the rocky ledge meet the ground. Run up the ledge and kill the couple of mobs as you make your way to the top were you should be able to see a named Haal'esh called Avruu. He's got a pretty fast respawn timer, so should be up, unless very recently killed. He will drop Avruu's Orb which begins this quest.

The quest requires you to take the Orb to the Haal'eshi Altar, located at 29,81 and the very southern end of the Den. It's not really an altar per say, more an orb in front of a house. Right click the orb, and Aeranas will spawn - no casting time, it's an instant summons. Aeranas will attack you, however around 20% he will back off, turn friendly and allow you to complete the quest. Beware of using powerful DoT's, you don't want to kill him.
When you are done, don't head back down the main path to exit, instead you should see a second path veering off to the right. If you take that path, you will be able to complete:

Quest: [62] The Great Fissure
From: Ranger Captain Venn'ren at Falcon Watch
Objective: Kill 8 Stonescythe Whelps and 3 Stonescythe Alphas
Reward: 10050 experience

Quest: [63] Wanted: Blacktalon the Savage
From: Ranger Captain Venn'ren at Falcon Watch
Objective: Retrieve Blacktalon's Claws
Reward: 12950 experience, 5g 80s, 350 rep with Silvermoon and Fine Sash (Venn'ren's Boots for vendor sale)

Quest: [63] Debilitating Sickness
From: Earthcaller Ryga at Mag'har Post
Objective: Gather 1 Drycap Mushroom
Reward: 10400 experience and 500 reputation with The Mag'har

The path you are now following, will take you all the way to The Great Fissure, and along there will be lots of Stonescythe Whelps to kill. Most will come in packs of two which are very easy to kill. Along the sides in little pockets are the Alphas, but don't worry about those as the cave with Blacktalon in it has the 3 you need. So for now, just fight your way towards the cave.

Once you drop down into the Great Fissure, you'll see more Whelps around the rock clusters, as well as have to deal with any Tunnelers you agro. If you run along the cliff walls at the base, or stay up the top until you are over the cave, you won't have to worry about any Tunnelers. Once you are at the cave, start killing your way in, which will complete the kill quest. You should also be able to see the Drycap Mushrooms in there, so loot one to complete that quest.

Blacktalon is located towards the back of the cave, and you may want help with him depending on your level. If you can't find any friends (/comfort), it is still possible to solo him. After all, we're Warlocks, we're Uber. The first thing you want to do is clear every mob in the cave, including the Alpha behind Blacktalon. You can clear all but him without agro'ing Blacktalon, so do those first. When you attack the guy at the back, make sure you have a soulstone on you, attack him and while fighting him, move to the very back of the cave, where he spawned. You will most likely die doing this, but so long as you killed the last Alpha, you are fine. Simply resurrect - which is why you wanted to be at the back.

If it respawns while you're there, have no fear, you can kill that mob without agro'ing Blacktalon.. You only agro him if you attack the Alpha from the front, from the very back of the cave Blacktalon has very little interest in you. However as a warning, if the Alpha in the far back respawns, that means the others have too, you'll have to clear all over again. So, try not to take too long. I've noticed that if you don't completely loot a corpse, it takes longer to despawn. So, off with the auto-loot! Leave the grays and a trail of sparkling dead things.

From there just attack Blacktalon in the now cleared cave, fearing him to your heart's content. This is one pre-instance fight you might want to throw a Curse of Doom out there, being elite, it will be a longer than average fight.

Once you are done, return to Falcon Watch and hand in any completed quests.

Quest: [62] Marking the Path
From: Ranger Captain Venn'ren at Falcon Watch
Objective: Light the Southern, Western and Central Beacons
Reward: 10050 experience, 2g 70s, 250 reputation with Silvermoon and Flamehandler's Gloves (Lightbearer's Gauntlets for vendor)

Once again it's back down into The Great Fissure. The beacons you needed to light are found:
  • Western = 29,60 located just down from Falcon Watch
  • Central = 34,59 found, oddly enough, around the center
  • Southern = 36,65 which is just past the cave, along the cliff wall.
The beacons are pretty easy to find. Each of them are in the middle of four square stones. Just be careful, because the second you light a beacon, all the mobs near it will check it out! The beacons are 'instant cast' however, so you can run by them (on foot, sadly not on mount) and light them without stopping. When you do run past, try to do it on the side of the torch opposite of where most of the whelps are.

Quest: [63] A Pilgrim's Plight
From: Taleris Dawngazer at Falcon Watch
Objective: Find the Wounded Pilgrims missing pack
Reward: 10400 experience, 2g 90s, 250 Silvermoon rep and Pilgrim's Cover (Segmented Breastplate for vendor)

After you have lit the fires, make your way to the very west end of The Great Fissure and continue out of it to the Dustquill Ravine. You are looking for thorny, ravager-infested area just north of the Arrakoa area. If you fight your way in on a straight line, you should see a purple rug with a sparkly bag on it - that is the missing pack. All you have to do is interact with the bag to get a loot dialogue - short cast time (3 seconds or so) - and then had back to Falcon Watch.

Once you have handed in at Falcon Watch, make your up to the Mag'har Post and hand in the mushroom.

Quest: [63] Administer the Salve
From: Earthcaller Ryga at Mag'har Post
Objective: Heal 10 Debilitated Mag'har Grunts
Reward: 10400 experience, 2g 90s, 500 reputation with The Mag'har and Totemic Staff (highest vendor if not an upgrade)

This quest is really easy. Outside the building you receive the quest in, are smaller huts. Look for the Debilitated Grunts, which are found kneeling both inside and outside these huts, target and right click the salve. Rinse and repeat 10 times.

Once you are done with that quest, drop down into the Pools of Aggonar like you did last time.

Quest: [62] The Cleansing Must Be Stopped
From: Ryathen the Somber at Falcon Watch
Objective: Defeat the Draenei Anchorites
Reward: 10050 experience, 2g 70s and Felforce Medallion (highest vendor if not an upgrade)

The Altar is located at the south end of the pools, in the water, location approximately 39, 40. Once you locate the alter, right click the signaling gem and three Draenei will spawn and approach you from the west. The quest target is level 62, while the other two companions are 57 - 58. None of the three have many hit points and the killing will be over before you know it.

When ready, return to Falcon Watch to hand in completed quests.

Quest: [63] Demonic Contamination
From: Thiah Redmane at the Cenarion Post
Objective: Gather 6 Helboar Blood Samples
Reward: 10400 experience, 2g 90s and 250 reputation with Cenarion Expedition

From Falcon Watch, make your way to Cenarion Post, only this time don't follow the path, fight directly across. This will cause you to kill many a Hulking Helboar, which is a good thing as they drop the Helboar Blood Samples you need. If you haven't collected all six by the time you reach Cenarion Post, just keep killing. Once you have completed, hand in.

Quest: [63] Testing the Antidote
From: Thiah Redmane at the Cenarion Post
Objective: Use the Cenarion Antidote on a Hulking Helboar and observe the results.
Reward: 10400 experience, 2g 90s, 250 rep with Cenarion Expedition and Cenarion Naturalist's Staff (Helboar Carving Blade for vendor)

Very easy quest. Locate your nearest Hulking Helboar, target and right click the antidote - it's instant cast. The Helboar will turn and attack you, mutating into Dreadtusk, a ... larger Helboar. Killing Dreadtusk completes the quest, so hand in once done.

Quest: [63] Source of the corruption
From: Apothecary Azethen at Falcon Watch
Objective: Collect 5 Demonic Essences
Reward: 10400 experience, 2g 90s and Fallen Vindicator's Blade OR Ring of the Slain Anchorite (Blade has highest vendor sale)

South of Cenation Post is the Ruins of Sha'naar and the Illidari Taskmasters. These usually come with 1-2 Dreghood brutes as "pets" which are forced to attack you as well, but simply ignore them. As soon as the taskmaster falls, they will run away. That means no DoTing them, no AE's and take Cleave off auto cast if you are using a Felguard. Apparently, although not confirmed by me, if you agro two Taskmasters at once, as soon as you kill one of them, ALL of the Dreghoods will stop being hostile and despawn (ie - not just the two that came with the first one).

While doing this quest if you head up the right side of the ruins next to the mountain you find a Quest NPC named Ayleen the Waterwaker at location 13,61. He starts an additional quest chain you complete in and around the Ruins. (Any of the three Elders inside the ruins will start this quest, I just chose to list this guy as he's the easiest to find...)
Quest: [62] Naladu
From: Akoru the Firecaller, found in the Ruins of Sha'naar
Objective: Seek out Naladu
Reward: 2550 experience

Naladu is located at the back of the Ruins, up the stairs then turn left, location 16,65. If the big Elite Arzeth is blocking the path at the top of the stairs, wait off to the side for a few moments and he will move down into the middle of the ruins allowing you free access to get to Naladu. You may have to kill a couple of Taskmasters once you are up the stairs.

Quest: [62] A Traitor Among Us
From: Naladu at the Ruins of Sha'naar
Objective: Obtain the Sha'naar Key from a nearby hut
Reward: 10050 experience

The key is sitting in a box, inside the hut directly in front of the stairs. If you are standing at the top of the stairs facing in (ie, as if you'd just run up the stairs), then it's in the hut straight ahead. Location 14, 63. Loot the key and return to Naladu.

Quest: [62] The Dreghood Elders
From: Naladu at the Ruins of Sha'naar
Objective: Free the three Elders
Reward: 10050 experience

The first tent after you come down the stairs on the left is where you will find Morod the Windstirrer. From Morod, if you face north and head straight, you will find Ayleen the Waterwaker, who is the same guy that started the chain off for you. From Ayleen, head east across the path and you will find Akoru the Firecaller. Once you have spoken to all three, return to Naladu.

Quest: [62] Arzeth's Demise
From: Naladu at the Ruins of Sha'naar
Objective: Defeat Arzeth the Merciless
Reward: 12600 experience and 5g 40s

Now comes the fun part - kill Arzeth! Naladu will give you a Staff of the Dreghood Elders, which you use on Arzeth the Merciless which will strip the 'eliteness' from him, making him easy to kill. Clear any mobs you need, say the two taskmasters on the left side, and when Arzeth is at the top of the stairs next, target and right click the staff from your inventory - you don't have to equip it (you can't). This converts Arzeth the Merciless into Arzeth the Powerless, which is your cue to kill. Once done, return to Naladu and hand in, and you're done for this area.
Return to Cenarion Post and hand in any completed quests, then into Falcon Watch to hand in there. And voila! Hellfire Peninsula is complete! WAHOO! Time to move on into Zangarmarash.

Group Quests

If you have some friends that can assist you, there will be three group quests still in your log by the time you have finished Hellfire Peninsula.

Quest: [63] Cruel's Intentions
From: Nazgrel in Thrallmar
Objective: Kill Arazzius the Cruel
Reward: 15550 experience, 8g 70s and Vengeance of the Illidari

Arazzius the Cruel is located at the very end of the Pools of Agonnar, on top of the platform. If people aren't there already killing him, you will have to clear a few Mistress of Doom mobs before being able to access Arazzius. Arazzius the Cruel is a level 63 Elite with approximately 44,000 health and 15,000 or so mana. His most common attacks (apart from smacking you over the head) is Shadow Bolt Volley and Pyroblast, although I only saw one Pyro when we did it. On top of that he will use Inferno a few times to summon some Infernals to help try to kill you.

Like all 'boss' type mobs, he's immune to fear and Curse of Exhaustion, although I didn't try a Curse of Recklessness to slow down his Pyro, nor did I try to banish the Infernals - we had a good group that completely kicked butt. I have heard of Warlocks soloing him, but in all honesty, it's much easier to get a bit of help - even one level 70 and you is enough.
Note: The trinket reward will last you all the way to level 70 and beyond, so I recommend trying to complete this quest.
Quest: [63] The Foot of the Citadel
From: Nazgrel in Thrallmar
Objective: Kill Force Commander Gorax, place the Challenge From the Horde upon his corpse, kill The Hand of Kargath, and then bring the Head of the Hand of Kargath to Nazgrel
Reward: 12950 experience, 5g 80s, 1000 reputation with Thrallmar and Shadowcast Tunic. (Battlemaster's Breastplate for vendor)

This quest is the follow on from The Demoniac Scryer. You need to head back down to the Hellfire Basin, only this time the same side as the Shattered Hand Orcs - not where you did the Demoniac Scryer. Right at the end of the path, practically under the wall, you will find Force Commander Gorax. He paces back and forth under the wall, I found him on the right side (if you're facing the wall) ordering some other Orcs around. After you have killed Gorax, right click the banner from your inventory, and immediately The Hand of Kargath and his two sidekicks will spawn. Kill, loot and hand in.

You will need a group or at least a level 70 for assistance with this quest. I'd suggest 2-3 people, head to location 48, 50, clear the small alcove area west of the archway, then pull the force commander back to the fire and kill him there. This will give you a couple seconds to heal up before Kargath and the two adds run in. They charge like crazy, but you CAN outrange it. (30 yards)

Quest: [63] Colossal Menace
From: Tola'thion at the Cenarion Post
Objective: Slay 5 Raging Colossi
Reward: 12950 experience, 5g 80s 350 reputation with Cenarion Expedition and Survivalist's Wand

This quest is possible to do solo as a Warlock, but the mobs drop an item that begins another quest, which you will need assistance with, so if you can get help now, you can do both together. You will find the Raging Colossi across the path from the Cenarion Post (see below).

The mobs themselves are level 63 Elites, and on top of that, 'break down' as you are killing them, spawning off mini Colossi (non elite) you have to contend with. If you choose to do just this quest, and you are solo, you can use Fear to help stop the breaking down. Otherwise, just focus on the elite, killing off the 3 spawns at the end. You can also mine these guys - it requires 315 skill and they usually drop 1x grey item that sells for 15s, and occasionally some Motes of Earth.

The first one you kill will give you Crimson Crystal Shard.
Quest: [63] Crimson Crystal Clue
From: A Crimson Crystal Shard
Objective: Deliver the Crimson Crystal Shard to Tola'thion at the Cenarion Post
Reward: 5250 experience, 1g 50s and 75 reputation with Cenarion Expedition

As the quest states, simply return the Crystal to Tola'thion. I recommend doing this straight away, before you have killed any more Raging Colossi as the following steps send you back over and you will need to clear more anyway. After handing in the shard, the next step, The Earthbinder sends you to Galandria Nightbreeze at the top of the hill next to you.

Passing the shard on to Galandria will cause her to walk to the bottom of the hill and summon a 62 Elite version of the Colossi which you have to kill. If you stand back and allow the lured Colossi to attack the NPC first, she will help you kill it which makes things much easier. Once you have killed it she walks to the top of the hill again where you hand in and can accept the next step.

Quest: [63] Natural Remedies
From: Earthbinder Galandria Nightbreeze at the Cenarion Post
Objective: Use the Seed of Revitalization at the Earthbinder's Circle to heal the land around the crystal.
Reward: 12950 experience, 5g 80s, 350 reputation with Cenarion Expedition and Destroyers' Mantle. (Golden Cenarion Greaves for vendor sale) The shoulder reward for this quest is actually better than the one you get from the quest in Hellfire Ramparts, so if you can do this quest, I recommend it.

On the map below you can see a crystal like image near the center of the circle - that is where you want to head. The location is approximately 13,39. Around the north-west side of the big red crystal, you should see the green Earthbinder's Circle (pictured below). Be sure to clear the enemies around here as the enemy you fight likes to push you back into the air and it can cause other giants to attack you which makes the situation a little more... difficult.

When read, stand in the circle and right click the Seed of Revitalization (looks like an acorn) and it will channel to the center, storm clouds roll in and Pathaleon shows up to see what you are doing. Once that is complete, Goliathon, King of the Colossi is summoned - a 64 elite that appears to your right, if you're facing the big red crystal in the centre. He is a melee based mob, so no spells you have to worry about, but will summon 'mini Goliathon's shardlings' which spawn at 50% health and will attack whoever has agro. All in all not a hard fight.

Once you are done, which by the same time you should have your 5 Raging Colossi count, head back to Cenarion Post and hand in. And Voila! You are not well and truely done with Hellfire Peninsula. It's time to go play in the puddles in Zangarmarsh!

This is a fantastic guide Crypt! Really splended work. I've actually just gone through many of those quests, but still have about 20 in my log for HP that I'll be hitting up soon using your guide.

One thing I noticed, however, is you left a Flight Path off your inital map. The FP at the Dark Portal. Now, the only people that won't know about it are those that get summoned into Outlands rather than entering through the Dark Portal. But it would be nice to have it just for consistency sake.

I actually left that off purposely because it's not actually used - or at least not in my experience. I did think about it thought. It's mentioned in the Entering the Outlands guide, but since most people won't be flying there for anything other than those starter quests, I didn't want to confuse anyone.
