Crypt's Horde Guide to the Outland - Zangarmarsh

Zangarmarsh

Zone Information:
Zangarmarsh is a tranquil area that has largely evaded the demonic influence. The marsh's innumerable lakes and pools are clean of any taint, and most native animals and fungi give off soothing phosphorescent light. Only recently has the area's self-contained ecology faltered. Something is causing the water levels to drop. The marsh's giant mushrooms are dying, as are the creatures that rely upon the mushrooms for food.

Minimum Required Level: 60
Horde Outposts: 2 - Swamprat Post and Zabra'jin. Plus 1 Neutral Outpost: Cenarion Refuge
Flightpaths: 2 - Swamprat Post and Zabra'jin
Mailboxes: 3 - Swamprat Post, Zabra'jin and Cenarion Refuge

Main Faction: Cenarion Expedition
The Cenarion Expedition is a faction of night elves and tauren based in Zangarmarsh and led by Ysiel Windsinger. The Expedition was sent by the Cenarion Circle to Outland shortly after the Dark Portal was reopened in order to study the surviving life forms of that uncharted world. Although it began as a small organization directly controlled by the Circle, the Expedition has grown to become an autonomous organization, independent of the Circle's leadership on Azeroth.

There are a few ways to raise your reputation with the Cenarion Expedition. The first and most obvious route is to simply complete all quests in Zangarmarsh, as well as Hellfire Peninsula, Terokkar Forest, and Blade’s Edge Mountains. There are also several repeatable quests you can do, and many of the items needed for these quests can be purchased at the AH. Of course, you can pick up the items while running around or grind for them if you are wanting faction prior to questing. However, if your character is independently wealthy or supported by a previous character, here is a shopping list of the things you can purchase:

Neutral To Friendly: 120 Unidentified Plant Parts (in groups of 10)
Friendly To Honored: 240 Unidentified Plant Parts
Neutral through Exalted: You can buy Coilfang Armaments, but they are very expensive and only give you 75 faction after the first turn in.
(Before running off to shop, find out what rep level you want with Cenarion Expedition here. Keep in mind that you want to be at least Honored with CE for the heroic Coilfang dungeon key.)
As I mentioned, you can quest for this faction too, but it is possible to buy your way to Exalted. As a herbalist, you have additional chances of gathering these, including:
  • any type of marsh herbs that you pick will give you chance of picking a plant part
  • you can "gather herb" off of dead mobs in dead mire -- same way a skinner skins a dead mob
The non wealthy way:

Prior to Honored reputation
You can kill Naga throughout Zangarmarsh to gain reputation. The Slave Pens, the first 5-man wing of Coilfang Reservoir, will also yield good reputation gains. You can gather Unidentified Plant Parts from various creatures around Zangarmarsh and turn them in for reputation. These can be turned in until the end of Friendly reputation.

From Honored to Revered
The repeatable quest, "Uncatalogued Species," is started from an item that is occasionally obtained from turning in Unidentified Plant Parts. Now is a good time to do all the Cenarion Expedition quests from Hellfire Peninsula, Zangarmarsh, Terokkar Forest, and Blade's Edge Mountains. The reputation gains from Slave Pens and Underbog stop part of the way through Honored, making Steamvault your remaining source of reputation in Coilfang Reservoir. In Steamvault you can get access to a repeatable quest after looting a letter, "Orders from Lady Vashj," from a random monster inside. This quest will allow you to turn in Coilfang Armaments, found off of monsters inside Steamvault, for reputation. Running Steamvault and turning in Coilfang Armaments is an efficient way to finish getting to Revered.

From Revered to Exalted
Continue to run Steamvault and turn in Coilfang Armaments. The Armaments are not soulbound, so you can get them from other players or from the Auction House. Uncatalogued Species will also continue to yield reputation. Lastly, you can get reputation from any wing of Coilfang Reservoir if you run them in Heroic Mode.

Others Factions: Darkspear Trolls, Sporeggar

If you are wanting to raise your Sporeggar reputation with repeatable quests, below are the items you will need:
Unfriendly To Neutral: 24 Bog Lord Tendrils (in groups of 6)
Neutral To Friendly: 40 Glowcaps (groups of 10) or 24 Bog Lord Tendrils or 36 Fertile Spores (in groups of 6)
Friendly To Honored: 48 Fertile Spores or 40 Sanguine Hibiscus (in groups of 5)
Honored To Revered: 96 Fertile Spores or 80 Sanguine Hibiscus
Revered To Exalted: 168 Fertile Spores or 140 Sanguine Hibiscus
Fun fact: If you kill a spore bat while being in melee range the moment it dies, you will get a 5 minute buff: +30 to all stats. So just kill spore bats whenever they are on your way and get this nifty buff!

PvP
Although the PvP in Zangarmarsh doesn't reward doesn’t reward Thrallmar reputation, you do receive Thrallmar tokens for any Alliance you slaughter. The only PvP offered in Zangarmarsh is based around the Twin Spire Ruins - there is no daily PvP quest here.

The spires themselves are located near the Southern Shore of the Serpent Lake. The goal for both sides is to control the beacons on the east and west ends of the area and retrieve the flag to the tower located in the middle. By controlling the tower in the center of the area, your faction gains control of the graveyard, gets the NPC rewards and pick up the buffs for the area.

To capture the beacons on either of the eastern and western towers is much the same as the towers in Hellfire Peninsula. Players must gather and have more people in the area for their faction than the opposing team. Over time, the beacon will eventually become the possession of whichever side has more people. To get the center tower, both beacons must first be controlled by the same faction.

After the beacons for both towers have been taken by one faction, that faction may approach certain NPCs and gain flags for use in taking the center tower. Either NPC can be found in Telredor and Zabra'jin. The players who pick up these flags will appear as having large flags on their back. To succeed in eventually capturing the center tower, a player needs only to bring the flag back to the center tower. After a player is defeated with a flag, another player can visit the NPCs and pick one up. After the beacons change, the NPCs stop handing out flags.

Rewards
For those servers on which a faction is able to gain control of the center tower, that faction will gain certain rewards. They immediately gain access to use the graveyard at the Twin Spire Ruins, but more importantly, also pick up a buff that increases damage by 5%.

Besides the in-game bonuses, you also receive the Thrallmar tokens for all honorable kills in the zone. To use these tokens, players must visit the NPCs listed above and turn them in for special items. The same tokens found here can be used in the Hellfire Peninsula as the tokens are the same.

Getting there:
Ok, time to hit the quests! More than likely you've come from Hellfire Peninsula and have not yet picked up any of the flight paths. Although the first place you will be questing from is Cenarion Refuge, they don't offer a flight path and the last thing you want to be doing is running from Shattrath or Hellfire every time. So, let's pick up the first flight path before we do anything.

Your destination is Swamprat Post. The easiest way to get there is to follow the map below:

When you are there, you can hand in Report to Zurai. Also grab the following quests:
  1. Report to Shadow Hunter Denjai
  2. Thick Hydra Scales
  3. News from Zangarmarsh
  4. Menacing Marshfangs
  5. There's no Explanation for Fashion
  6. No More Mushrooms!

Recommended Quests
Most of the gear rewarded in the quests here is similar to that you have just received from Hellfire Peninsula. Use your best judgment when choose rewards and pick items that are upgrades to your character.

All Quests
We begin our questing adventures at the Cenarion Refuge. Run around and collect the following:
  1. The Dying Balance
  2. Disturbance at Umbrafen Lake
  3. Leader of the Darkcrest
  4. Leader of the Bloodscale
  5. A Warm Welcome
  6. Plants of Zangarmarsh
  7. The Umbrafen Tribe

Quest:
[63] Plants of Zangarmarsh
From: Lauranna Thar'well at the Cenarion Refuge
Objective: Delivery 10 Unidentified Plant Parts
Reward: 10400 experience, 250 Rep, and Package of Identified Plants

If you have collected or purchased any Unidentified Plant Parts to raise your Cenarion Expedition faction, this is where you can unload them. Alternatively, return to Lauranna any time you collect them while running around and hand in. Each hand in is for 10 x plant parts, which will reward you with 10400 experience and 250 Cenarion Reputation the first time, and 250 rep for any subsequent hand ins. Every hand in will also reward you with a Package of Identified Plants, which can result in some grey plants to sell, herbalism items as well as some edible stalks or ferns to, amazingly enough, eat. Some packages have a chance to yield an Uncatalogued Species, which you can hand in to Lauranna for 500 additional reputation (no exp) - repeatable until Exalted.
Tip: Hang on to any Uncatalogued Species you get and hand them in after you hit honored with Cenarion Expedition. The plant parts will only take you to honored, so don't waste any potential faction by handing these in to early. Unlike many other "This Item Begins a Quest" items, it is possible to hold more than one of these in your inventory, although annoyingly, they don't stack.
Fun fact: In the completion text, the name Lauranna suggests for the plant is actually your name followed by "rium" - if your name, for example, happens to be Bob, she'll name the plant "Purple Leafed Bobrium". Sooo... Neverdying honour! How's that for a quest reward. Your name will be passed down through history, and every time a new level 61 grinder tramples one of your flowers down, they'll remember you fondly.

When you hit friendly reputation (which I did at the start as I purchased and handed in 200 plant parts) it opens up 3 more quests to collect at Cenarion Refuge:
  1. What's Wrong at Cenarion Thicket?
  2. Watcher Leesa'oh
  3. Blessing of the Ancients

Quest:
[64] Blessing of the Ancients
From: Windcaller Blackhoof at Cenarion Refuge
Objective: Obtain the blessings from ancients Ashyen and Keleth
Reward: 5400 experience and 75 Rep

Very easy quest. Most likely, if you've been standing around handing plant parts in, you've felt the ground shake. That is courtesy of the large Ancient of Lore Treants stomping around. If they are not walking around the main town area, they will standing at there post. Ashyen is found east of the Cenarion Refuge, just off the path heading back to Hellfire Peninsula.
From Ashyen, head south-west along the path as if you were heading to Shattrath, where you should come across Keleth. If they are not there, they will be walking around somewhere nearby - given their size, they're easy to track down. And you don't need them to be standing at their posts, you can talk to them anywhere. All you need to do is right click both and take the talk bubble that requests the blessing, which gives you a blessing from each for 30 minutes. Return to Windcaller Blackhoof in that time frame to hand in.
Any time you are in the zone, you can speak to either Ancients to receive the buff, which I highly recommend you do. Additional FREE spell damage is never something to turn down!
  • Ashyen blesses you with Mark of Lore - Increases spell damage/healing by 18 for 30 minutes
  • Keleth blesses you with Mark of War - Increases attack power by 30 for 30 minutes
  • Note: The buffs depend on your reputation with Cenarion Expedition. The damage/healing and attack power gained will increase as you continue to gain reputation with CE.
After you have done those quests, it's time to start running around for the rest. Zangarmarsh has a few collection quests, some of which make pulling your fingernails out seem like a better alternative - the drop rate sucks! The easiest way to do it and keep your sanity, it so simply kill any of those mobs while running around completing everything else. So, from here on in, your enemies are:
  • All four types of "Giant Bees" (Umbraglow Stinger, Fenglow Stinger, Marshlight Bleeder, Bogflare Needler) until you have 8 Diaphanous Wings.
  • Fen Striders, Marsh Walkers, Spore Bats and Greater Spore Bats until you have 6 Fertile Spores
  • Any Spore Bat you come across for the 5 minute plus 30 to all stats buff.

Quest: [62] Thick Hydra Scales
From: Zurai at Swamprat Post
Objective: Collect 12 Thick Hydra Scales
Reward: 10050 experience and 2g 70s

From Cenarion Refuge, make your way west until you hit Umbrafen Lake. Follow the shore line clockwise around the lake (as shown on map), killing any Mire Hydras you can see. If you right right along the waters edge, you should be able to spot most if not all of them, there's no real need to go swimming just yet. To be one the safe side, mash your tab key a few times if you haven't seen one in a while - they're about 10 feet apart. You can pull them onto the shore or fight them in the water, the choice is yours. At least we have the benefit of Unending Breath.

If you see any eels close to the shore, feel free to kill, but don't go specifically hunting for them just yet, we'll get to them in a jiffy. If you didn't collect all your scales, don't worry, you'll be traveling back up the length of the lake on the other side and can finish them then. Once you have killed your way around to the steam pumps, you'll be able to complete the following quest.

Quest: [63] Disturbance at Umbrafen Lake
From: Ysiel Windsinger at the Cenarion Refuge
Objective: Investigate the cause of the water depletion at Umbrafen Lake
Reward: 10400 experience, 2g 90s and 250 Rep

You want to be killing all the way around to the steam pumps at location 71,79 (approx). Once you can see the pump you have two options. You can kill through the Naga until you get the completed message appear, or you can leave the waters edge, make your way to the path and run around until you complete it - no killing involved. You have a quest that involves killing Naga anyway, so you can give it a head start now, but you'll be doing a quest in about 30 minutes that involves killing a lot of Naga, so it's up to you.

If you want to just complete this step without worrying about the Naga, simply follow the paths around to location 70,81. You don't need to enter the water or kill anything, simply get as close to the pumps as you can while still being on the main path, then run onto the island until you get the complete message and run back off. Easy done.

Once you have done that, jump back into the water.

Quest: [61] No More Mushrooms!
From: Magasha at Swamprat Post
Objective: Gather 8 Eel Filets from Umbrafen Eels
Reward: 9800 experience and 2g.

You'll see on the map below, the faint orange circle. That is the best place I found for the eels, and swimming from one side of the lake to the other, in a very squiggly round about way, should see you collect all your filets. I've heard reports, very frustrated reports, from other players that the drop rate is horrible, so be sure to bring some patience with you. You can use your Unending Breath (remember that spell?) or use the Potion of Water Breathing provided by Magasha. The potion can be handy if you don't want to worry about constantly refreshing your buff.

Once you have collected all your Eel Filets, exit the water on the east side.

Quest: [62] The Dying Balance
From: Lethyn Moonfire at Cenarion Refuge
Objective: Locate and deal with Boglash
Reward: 12600 experience, 2g 70s and 250 Rep

Quest: [62] The Umbrafen Tribe
From: Ikeyen at the Cenarion Refuge
Objective: Kill Kataru, 8 Umbrafen Seers, 6 Umbrafen Witchdoctors and 6 Umbrafen Oracles.
Reward: 10050 experience, 2g 70s and 250 Rep

As you exit the Umbrafen Lake, you want to cross over the path and start looking up and down the shallow waters for Boglash, a large bluey Fen Strider (think War of the Worlds). Although he is elite, he isn't hard to kill. Be aware that he is immune to Fear however. I found him right outside the Umbrafen Village, but he wanders up and down so you might have to hunt him down. Once you have found and killed him, continue to the very south end of Umbrafen Village, approximate location 85,90.

Although there are lots of huts on the islands, you are looking for a large double story one - stands out when you see it - and Kataru who can be found at the very top.

Kill Kataru and any Witchdoctors you can find in the immediate area. Umbrafen Witchdoctors can be quite hard to find elsewhere in the Umbrafen Village, but you can find one on each floor in Kataru's house. From the looks of it, this is probably the best location to search for these specific mobs. If you are not competing for mobs, it might be easiest to just wait around the hut (killing any mobs outside and near it while you wait) for respawns. Keep an eye out for the Terror Totems that the Witchdoctors place too - they can fear your pet into many friends.

From Kataru fight your way north to location 83,85. There you will find Kayra Longmane who requires an escort to safety.
Quest: [63] Escape from Umbrafen
From: Kayra Longmane in the Umbrafen Village
Objective: Escort Kayra Longmane to safety.
Reward: 10400 experience, 2g 90s, 250 Rep and a further 6g 15s from selling the Warden's Hammer reward. (No Cloth)

When you accept the quest, she will leave her hut and make her way towards to main path way, stopping just short of it to kill two mobs that will spawn and attack. Very easy kills. After those are dispatched of, she will continue to and along the path, where she will run! That's right, run! Finally someone waiting to be rescued that doesn't wander away at a snails pace making you wonder if they did in fact want to be rescued. Kayra hoofs it out of there! (she's a Tauren...get it? Hoofs!) A little further along the path she will stop and you will have to kill two more that spawn. Very easy kills again. After that it's another quick run along the path, and you are complete. She stops just short of Cenarion Refuge.
If you finished collecting all your Hydra Scales make your way to the waters edge and kill your way back up to Cenarion Refuge - If you don't get them by the time you hit Cenarion Refuge, don't worry as you will get more chances to collect them later. If you don't need to do this, just head directly to Cenarion Refuge to hand in and sell up.

Collect the following from Cenarion Refuge before running off:
  1. A Damp, Dark Place
  2. Saving the Sporeloks
  3. Safeguarding the Watchers
  4. As the Crow Flies

Quest: [63] As the Crow Flies
From: Ysiel Windsinger at the Cenarion Refuge
Objective: Use the Stormcrow Amulet
Reward: 7800 experience, and 150 Rep

This would have to be one of the easiest quests in the game! Simply use (right-click) the pendant next to the quest giver and you'll be turned into a Stormcrow. You do not get to control the movements of the bird so if you need to AFK for a minute or two, now is the time. During your flight Ysiel comments on the naga who are pumping water out of the lake. When you get back you'll be able to turn in the quest, no work required.

After you have complete that quest, make your way back to Swamprat Post to hand in the Hydra Scales and Eel Fillets.

Collect:
  1. A Job Undone
  2. Searching for Scout Jyoba

Quest: [62] Menacing Marshfangs
From: Reavij at Swamprat Post
Objective: Kill 10 Marshfang Rippers
Reward: 10050 experience and 2g 70s

Quest: [62] A Job Undone
From: Magasha at Swamprat Post
Objective: Kill Sporewing
Reward: 10050 experience, 2g 70s and your choice of Scrolls x 5 (Scroll of Stamina V, etc)

Quest: [62] Searching for Scout Jyoba
From: Zurai at Swamprat Post
Objective: Search for Scout Jyoba
Reward: 10050 experience

Make your way north-west out of Swamprat Post towards location 79, 46 (A on the map below), killing any Marshfang Rippers you pass on the way. Around that location should be Sporewing, identifiable by his more noticeable 'glow' over the other general sporebats. Sporewing has a spore cloud ability that is nature based and lowers 15% of your armor and periodically deals poison damage. Very easy to solo.
Once you have killed him, continue your way north into The Dead Mire to find Scout Jyoba. Or, more correctly, the body of Scout Jyoba. You are on the look out for a male Tauren body lying on the ground around location 80,36. You will have to clear your way through the Deadmire, and when you see the puddles of water (they're not really any bigger than puddles), start heading towards then and you should see the yellow question mark appear on your mini map indicating Jyoba.
Speaking to the corpse allows you to hand in the quest and pick up the next step:

Quest: [62] Jyoba's Report
From: Scout Jyoba in the Dead Mire
Objective: Retrieve Scout Jyoba's Report from the Withered Giants
Reward: 10050 experience, 2g 70s and Deep Mire Cloak. (Bog Walker's Belt for vendor sale)

The report can drop from any Withered Giant or Bog Lord around the Dead Mire, and has a fairly good to average drop rate. I got mine by the time I had cleared (everything) on my way back to Swamprat Post. The good thing too, is if you didn't manage to obtain all your Hydra Scales while running around Umbrafen Lake, the Hydra's here can also drop them.
Tip: Save any Bog lord tendrils that drop as you require then for a quest later down the road.
Once you have collected the report, make your way back to Swamprat Post to hand in. If you didn't complete your kill count of the Marshfang Rippers running up, kill some on the way back.

Collect
  1. Nothin' Says Lovin' Like a Big Stinger
Quest: [62] Saving the Sporeloks
From: Lauranna Thar'well at the Cenarion Refuge
Objective: Slay 10 Marsh Dredgers and 10 Marsh Lurkers
Reward: 10050 experience, 2g 70s, 250 Rep and Chemise of Rebirth. (Expedition Forager Leggings for vendor sale)

Quest: [62] A Damp, Dark Place
From: Ikeyen at Cenarion Refuge
Objective: Look for Ikeyen's Belongings inside a cave
Reward: 10050 experience, 2g 70s, 250 Rep and Ikeyen's Boots. (Refuge Armor for vendor sale)

Quest: [62] Safeguarding the Watchers
From: Windcaller Blackhoof at the Cenarion Refuge
Objective: Kill Lord Klaq
Reward: 10050 experience, 2g 70s and 250 Rep

Now it's time to head back down to the southern end of the map. From Swamprat Post follow the path back via Cenarion Refuge and continue past as if you were heading down to Shattrath. Just before you reach Shatt however, when you are beside the Umbrafen Village, you will see a path forking off to the west - you can't miss it - take the right (west) path and follow it along for a few meters. Not long after you cross the bridge, there will path leading off to your left. There is a lamp post right where it starts. This will take you to the cliff wall where you can continue up to Funggor Cavern. Start killing!

You are wanting to kill the big Marsh Lurkers and Dredgers. The Sporeloks should be orange con (unfriendly) to you, so just smile and pass on by any you see, you don't want to be killing them. This means you will also need to watch any AE abilities (Felguard's Cleave for example) as you don't want to accidentally hit any. Enter the cave. When you come to the end of the first part and the path splits, turn right. The path rises up and over before heading back down and curving around. Follow it. When you reach a dead end of sorts, turn around until you see a second path heading down. Will see this path head down and do a 'you-Turn' at the bottom, at that you-turn look around the wall, there will be a rock with a lunch box looking pack sitting on it. This is Ikeyen's Belongings, so right click to loot it.

Continue heading down the same path, all the way to the end (don't take the first path off to your right - go to the very end) and follow it around. You should emerge in a large area/room. Clear your way around to the far end and you will see Lord Klaq. This is a very easy fight so ignore the 'group' aspect of it, you will solo with your eyes shut. Take your time to clear the Marsh Lurkers and Dredgers between you and Klaq and you should be able to pull him singularly. Very basic fight with only a Thunderclap being used on you.

Once you have dispatched of Klaq, you should also have your kill count so bead back up to the top. Once you're back outside, make your way back down the main path and follow it around to your left. Your heading for Umbrafen Lake, to the steam pipes.

Quest: [64] Balance Must be Preserved
From: Ysiel Windsinger at the Cenarion Refuge
Objective: Use the Ironvine Seeds on the Steam Pump Controls at all four lakes
Reward: 13350 experience, 3g 10s and 350 Rep

Quest: [64] A Warm Welcome
From: Warden Hamoot at the Cenarion Refuge
Objective: Collect 30 Naga Claws
Reward: 13350 experience, 3g 10s, 350 Rep and 5 x Volatile Healing Potion's

The first steam pumps you want to use the seed at are the ones you had to 'discover' previously. This time you want to kill your way in, for two reasons:
  1. The Naga you need to kill drop the Naga Claws you need. And
  2. The Naga call for help and aggro at unexpected times, but usually always after you've used the seed, so you don't want too many unexpected friends at the wrong time.
The control panel is hard to see, it is nestled right up against the pipes, on the land side of the pumps. The easiest way to do this quest is to run right to the center of the pumps and use the seed from there - so long as you're close enough, it should be good enough. You need to right click the seeds, not the control panel or pump. Most likely you will have a Naga jump you immediately after using it, so be prepared for that. Also, the male Nagaa call for a nearby slaves to assist them, however, if you don't hit the slave, it will leave combat and run back to work after the Naga dies. If you get jumped by the a Dredger, and don't want to kill it, simply pull any nearby Naga and kill that instead. Once the Naga dies, the Dredger disappears. Leave pets in passive mode and make sure the Felguard has Cleave turned off to avoid hitting the slaves.
Quest: [63] Drain Schematics
From: Dropped Drain Schematics
Objective: Search Serpent Lake for signs of a drain.
Reward: 10400 experience, 2g 90s, 250 Rep and Expedition Caster's Band (Anything but the cloak for vendor)

When you destroy the controls, a Steam Pump Overseer will spawn, these guys don't yield any experience when killed, but theyhave a very high chance to drop the Drain Schematics. Other Naga also have a chance, however the Steam Pump Overseer has the highest. And the Overseer only spawns when doing this quest. The Ironvine Seeds you use to destroy the control panel don't have a cooldown and can be used multiple times at the same controls to continually spawn a new Overseer if you really want the Schematics.

To complete the quest, all you need to do is swim over the entrance to Coilfang Reservoir, in the middle of Serpent Lake. Note that you do have to go under the water, to the very mouth of the drain heading into the Coilfang Reservoir instances. Once you get the complete message, you go and see Ysiel Windsinger at Cenarion Refuge. Easy.
Once you have disabled the controls at Umbrafen Lake, make your way North-West to the Lagoon where you will need to find the Steam Pump there and disable the controls. Again, killing any Naga for the claws that block your path. In addition to the Nagas, you also want to be killing the 'bee' like mobs when running between both lakes for Diaphanous Wings. After disabling the controls at The Lagoon, travel North to the steam pump at Serpent Lake. More Nagas, another control panel.

After you disabled the control panel at Serpent Lake, swim out to the entrance of Coilfang Reservoir if you have picked up the Drain Schematics and complete that quest. You will most likely be jumped by packs of three Mudfin Frenzy Fish - these are more an annoyance than anything and die quickly with a DoT each and a pet. Once you have discovered the drain, exit the lake on the west side as it's the closest patch of land. It's also the closest area to your next destination - Zabra'jin.

Once at Zabra'jin, grab the flight path and hand in Shadow Hunter Denja on the second level of the Inn. Sell up, repair, etc.

Collect:
  1. Sting the Stingers
  2. Burstcap Mushrooms, Mon!
  3. Spirits of the Feralfen
  4. Angling to Beat the Competition
  5. WANTED: Boss Grog'ak
  6. Wanted: Chieftain Mummaki
If you don't have room for all - just collect the first 3.

Once you are ready, leave Zabra'jin via the north exit, and as soon as you are outside the outpost walls, start heading west to Marshlight Lake. You should be able to see the final steam pump in the distance, so start fighting towards it. Stay at this pump killing Naga's until you have collected all your Naga Claws needed.

Quest: [64] Burstcap Mushrooms, Mon!
From: Witch Doctor Tor'gash at Zabra'jin
Objective: Collect 6 Burstcap Mushrooms
Reward: 10750 experience and 3g 10s.

On the islands around the final pump, keep your eyes out for any Burstcap Mushrooms - loot them until you have your 6, which is very easy to do. Also grab any Glowcaps you see as you will need those later on. Since you are so close, make your way south to hand in Watcher Leesa'oh. You will find Leesa'oh at location 23,67, just off to the side of the main path. You will be able to see her tent as you get closer, if however you can't see her, it is possible that, after someone handed in the last stage of her quest line, a wandering bog lord will kill her when she tries to feed them. Her respawn rate is fast, so just lurk around.

After you have handed in, collect Observing the Sporelings for your log, however ignore it for the time being. For now, mount up and run back to Zabra'jin to hand in the Burstcap Musrooms if you didn't do so after Marshlight Lake.

Collect:
  1. Have you ever seen one of these?
Quest: [62] Spirits of the Feralfen
From: Seer Janidi at Zabra'jin
Objective: Collect 10 Feralfen Protection Totems
Reward: 10050 experience, 2g 70s and 250 Rep with Darkspear Trolls

Quest: [62] Nothin' Says Lovin' Like a Big Stinger
From: Reavij at Swamprat Post
Objective: Retrieve Blacksting's Stinger
Reward: 10050 experience, 2g 70s and Stalwart Girdle (Blacksting Shoulders for vendor sale)

From Zabra'jin, head east where, a short while into your run, you will want to veer off the path to Feralfen Village. Here you will find the Feralfen Hunters, Mystics and Druids. All three have a chance, a very low chance, to drop the Feralfen Protection Totems you need, which, oddly, only stack up to 5 even though the quest requires you to collect 10. /Boggle! I found the Hunters have a better drop chance, or it could have been that there were just more Hunters around. Don't worry about the Sporebat pets the Hunters have, they die if you sneeze on them... ok a little more than a sneeze, but barely.
If you come in at the west most huts, you can fight your way across to the east, where, at the last (east most) huts, you can kill Blacksting. Located at 49,59 he is easily spotted by his bright orange derrière. Non elite and very easy to kill, just like Sporewing. He does have an ability called 'Black Blood' which reduces stats and damage taken by 10% as well as making you unable to Stealth or turn Invisible, two things a Warlock doesn't have to worry about. Does provide a very cool 'look' to your character after you get it though, very fitting.
Once you have collected all your totems and are finished, return to Cenerion Refuge and hand in any quests there. If you collected and completed 'Drain Schematics', the quest Warning the Cenarion Circle will be available to you. All you need to do is run through to Amythiel Mistwalker at Cenarion Post in Hellfire Peninsula, which is the outpost just inside the zone from Zangarmarsh, and you collect an easy 5400 experience. Amythiel gives you the next step, Return to the Marsh which simply requires you to head back to Ysiel Windsinger at the Cenarion Refuge in Zangarmarsh for an even easier 10400 experience and 250 Reputation. (Choose the Marshstrider's Spaulders for vendor sale, since no cloth rewards.)

After that running around you are given Failed Incursion, which wants you to look for signs of Cenarion Expedition Druids near the entrance to Coilfang Reservoir, but ignore it until you decide to run a Coilfang instance and you can hand in then. For now, head north to Swamprat Post and hand in quests there, before flying back to Zabra'jin and handing in the Feralfen Totems.

Quest: [64] A Spirit Ally
From: Seer Janidi at Zabra'jin
Objective: Use the Feralfen Totem at the foot of the stairs at the Boha'mu Ruins
Reward: 10750 experience, 3g 10s, 250 Darkspear Troll Rep and Ancient Crystal Talisman. (Serpent Spirit's Drape for vendor sale)

The Boha'mu Ruins are located just south of the Feralfen Village, along the cliff walls, around location 44,66. Once you see a wide set of stairs, stand on or in front of the bottom step and right click the totem from your inventory. Doing so will spawn a non-elite 63 Feralfen spirit which you need to kill. Once you have killed it, return to Zabra'jin and hand in.

From Zabra'jin, head down to where Watcher Leesa'oh is located, and from her, head west in land until you see a yellow exclamation mark appear on your screen for Fahssn. This member of the Sporeggar faction is going to help you raise yours.

From Fahssn, collect:
  1. The Sporelings' Plight
  2. Natural Enemies - 750 Rep with Sporeggar
Quest: [63] The Sporelings' Plight
From: Fahssn at the Spawning Glen
Objective: Collect 10 Mature Spore Sacs
Reward: 10400 experience and 750 reputation with Sporeggar

Quest: [64] Natural Enemies
From: Fahssn at the Spawning Glen
Objective: Collect 6 Bog Lord Tendrils
Reward: 10750 experience and 750 reputation with Sporeggar

Quest: [63] Observing the Sporelings
From: Watcher Leesa'oh at the Cenarion Watchpost
Objective: Investigate the Spawning Glen in Zangarmarsh
Reward: 10400 experience, 2g 90s and 250 Rep with Cenarion Expedition

From Fahssn, head west and slightly north into The Spawning Glen. You are looking for Mature Spore Sacs, which can be a little tricky to see. They spawn on the ground, at the base of the super size versions of the mushroom like plants. The pulsating plants... You will get the cog (loot) icon when you mouse over them, so if you're having trouble, just wave your mouse around wildly.
Guarding these spore sacs are the Bog Lords, which you want to kill until you have six Bog Lord Tendrils. Don't worry about the Sporeggar fellows, they are sick of being beaten up by the Bog Lords and will jump in to kick them a couple of times if you're already attacking one. Don't attack them however, it will hinder your ability to raise your faction with them.
While you are running around, you should also get the "Investigate the Spawning Glen" message to complete that quest.
Once you have your Spore Sacs and Tendrils, return to Fahssn and hand in. The quests are repeatable for faction, however you shouldn't need to do them at this time. Return to Watcher Leesa'oh and hand in Observing the Sporelings. Collect A Question of Gluttony.

Quest: [64] A Question of Gluttony
From: Watcher Leesa'oh at the Cenarion Watchpost
Objective: Collect 10 pieces of Discarded Nutriment
Reward: 10750 experience, 3g 10s and 250 Rep with Cenarion Expedition

Quagg Ridge, where you will find the Discarded Nutriment pieces, is just north of Watcher Leesa'oh. In fact you can run north-east from her and you will land right in it. There you will find more Bog Lords to kill, and glowing (or sometimes, just to be tricky, not glowing) pieces of Discarded Nutriment. They look like rotting mushrooms and stalks.

Of course, getting in to loot them is the difficult part. There's plenty of Nutriments scattered about, but you will have to kill a fair few of the giants, as they wander all over the place. There is also a constant line of them patrolling down the middle of the area. If you watch long enough you can see where they fade out and stop (farthest area in from the path). Work around this area and you can most times only agro one mob at a time. And if you do get stuck in this Bog Lord Migration, move away or you will be stuck killing forever!!
The Bog Lords will also throw a mushroom spores at you, these unstable cherry bombs grow and then blow up, doing some not so ticklish damage to you and your pet. When you see the message "Fungai Giant or Bog Lord throws a mushroom spore at [your name]", take a few steps back or to the side. The mushroom that spawns can also be targeted and "killed", but you need to get it quick unless you are going to nuke it.
Once you have gathered your 10 pieces of Discarded Nutriment, head back to Watcher Leesa'oh and hand in. Pick up the follow up quest, Familiar Fungi.

Quest: [64] Stinging the Stingers
From: Gambarinka at Zabra'jin
Objective: Kill 8 Marshlight Bleeders
Reward: 10750 experience, 3g 10s and 250 Darkspear Troll Rep

Identifiable by their bright pink honey, these are found all around Marshlight Lake. The best place to start is the island patches between Sporeggar and Zabra'jin (see map) and work clockwise around the lake. Unless there is high competition for them, you should complete your kill count fairly quickly.

Since you are right near Sporeggar when doing this quest, you can pop in and complete two quests here:

Quest: [64] Fertile Spores
From: Ghsaff at Sporeggar
Objective: Gather 6 Fertile Spores
Reward: 10750 experience, a single Glowcap and 750 reputation with Sporeggar.

Quest: [64] Glowcap Mushrooms
From: Msshi'fn at Sporeggar
Objective: Gather 10 Glowcaps
Reward: 10750 experience and 750 reputation with Sporeggar.

If you have been killing any of the Fen Striders and Marsh Walkers while wandering around, you, hopefully, have collected Fertile Spores which you can now hand in. The Glowcaps are much easier, located all around the ground near Sporeggar as well as heavy across the south-west areas of the zone. If you haven't been collecting these while running around, do a quick collection now so you can hand in. Keep handing in any Glowcaps until you are friendly with Sporeggar.

The other two quests offered are for Coilfang instances, so ignore them. For now, return to Zabra'jin, hand in the Stingers and pick up the following step:

Quest: [64] The Sharpest Blade
From: Gambarinka at Zabra'jin
Objective: Collect 10 Marshfang Slicer Blades
Reward: 10750 experience, 3g 10s, 250 Darkspear Troll Rep and Ensorcelled Marshfang Blade (Marshfang Blade Axe for vendor sale)

The easiest place I found for Marshfang Slicers is just south of Zabra'jin - practically across the road. Very easy to do with every single Slicer dropping a blade. While you are fighting there, you will most likely see and kill "Count" Ungula. Doing so will reward you with "Count" Ungula's Mandible, which gives you the quest The Count of the Marshes.

Once you have your 10 Slicer Blades, return "Count" Ungula's Mandible to Watcher Leesa'oh for an easy 10750 experience, 3g and 250 reputation with Cenarion Expedition. If you are Neutral with Sporeggar, head back over to Fahssn and collect the quest: Sporeggar and then head north to Sporeggar and hand in. If this doesn't give you friendly faction, collect and hand in Glowcaps until you are. This will allow you to accept:

Quest: [64] Now that we're friends
From: Gzhun'tt at Sporeggar
Objective: Kill 12 Bloodscale Slavedrivers and 6 Bloodscale Enchantresses
Reward: 10750 experience, 750 reputation with Sporeggar and Zangarmarsh Claymore to sell (No Warlock rewards)

From Sporeggar, follow the edge of Marshlight Lake counter-clockwise to the Steam Pump and the Naga's that surround it. The female Naga (Enchantresses) are much less common than the male ones, so seek them out first. They channel arcane missiles, which can be interrupted. And watch out for their "Circle of Ice" spell - it gradually forms a ring of ice blocks on the ground around you. If you're in the middle of the ring when it completes, it hits for huge damage and roots you in place. Just move out of the way when you see the ice blocks forming.

The male Naga (Slavedrivers) will call nearby slaves for help. If you kill the Naga, the slave will evade and run back to its spawn point.
Tip: If you don't like dealing with the slaves, kill the slave drivers and enchantresses found underwater. They're easy single pulls.
After you are done, hand in at Sporeggar and then return to Zabra'jin to hand in the Sharpest Blade.

Quest: [64] Angling to beat the competition
From: Zurjaya at Zabra'jin
Objective: Kill 10 Fenclaw Thrashers
Reward: 10750 experience and 3g 10s
Tip: Before you take this quest, if you have a Potion of Water Breathing left over from when you collected the Eel Filets, destroy it before you accept this quest and Zurjaya will give you a brand new potion with 3 charges.
From Zabra'jin, take the north exit and head up to Serpent Lake. The thrashers are grouped up around the entrance to Coilfang Reservoir, at the bottom of the lake. You can avoid the frenzies by entering from the south (shortest swim anyway) or the north shores. From the east or west, you'll get swarmed by frenzies. They find cloth wearers very tasty. I started from the south end of the drains and killed my way north. This way, once you are done killing, you can exit at the north-west side of the lake, allowing you to come back through the Hewn Bog.

Quest: [63] Familiar Fungi
From: Watcher Leesa'oh at the Cenarion Watchpost
Objective: Collect 15 Mushroom Samples
Reward: 10400 experience, 2g 90s and 250 reputation with Cenarion Expedition

Quest: [64] WANTED: Boss Grog'ak
From: Wanted Poster at Zabra'jin
Objective: Retrieve Boss Grog'ak's Head
Reward: 13350 experience and 3g 10s

By coming back through the Hewn Bog, you can kill all the Ogre's and collect your Mushroom Samples. Now, the drop rate for the mushrooms can be a wee bit annoying, just as a heads up. If you fight down the main path area to start with, you will come across Boss Grog'ak, who is a very easy non elite kill. He's hardly even worthy of the title 'Boss'. After you have his head, just keep running around until you have all your mushrooms. If you are having a particularly bad run collecting them, feel free to come back to it later, or drop it all together. Quests are not something you will run out of.

Quest: [64] Have You Ever Seen One of These?
From: Witch Doctor Tor'gash at Zabra'jin
Objective: Release Murlocs at Daggerfen Village
Reward: 10750 experience, 3g 10s, 250 Darkspear Troll Rep and The Witch Doctor's Wraps (Daggerfen Mail for vendor sale)

When you're fighting the Ogres, if you fight your way west across the Hewn Bog, you will come to the area of Daggerfen Village. If you look at your map in game, you will see there are three huts/tents there, you want to fight towards the top right of the three. It's here you want to look for the bottom half of a wagon, you will see the side bits sticking up, it's fairly easy to spot. Once you locate that, look for the flat rectangle rock on the ground. It is upon this rock you need to release the baby Murlocs to wreak havoc. The location of the rock is 26,22
Tip: Be on the look out for the stealthy Daggerfen, they can be hard to see and open with a 3 second stun.
Quest: [64] Wanted: Chieftain Mummaki
From: Wanted Poster at Zabra'jin
Objective: Obtain Chieftain Mummaki's Totem
Reward: 10750 experience, 6g 20s and 250 Darkspear Troll Rep

Once you have released the Murlocs, head south to the largest tent in the area - it's multi level, so if you enter a hut with stairs, you're in the right one. On the top level you will find Chieftain Mummaki and his two sidekicks. All three will come together, which is fine, they're all very easy to kill. Load all up with DoTs and count to 3 basically.

Once you have killed and looted your totem, make your way back to Zabra'jin to hand in. If you run back along the edge of Marshlight Lake, you can kill the Marshlight Bleeders to collect some Diaphanous Wings is you still need some. They appear to have a fairly good drop rate along there and I got four along that run alone. Once you hand everything in at Zabra'jin, collect:
  1. Impending Attack
  2. The Biggest of Them All
  3. Pursuing Terrorclaw
If you have room, grab the following two quests. They're for the next zones you will be heading to, so it's handy to leave them in your log for some additional easy exp once you move on.
  1. The Ogre Threat (Blade's Edge Mountains)
  2. Reinforcements for Garadar (Nagrand)
Once you are ready, head out of Zabra;jin and down to Watcher Leesa'oh to hand in. Pick up the next step: Stealing Back the Mushrooms.

Quest: [64] Pursuing Terrorclaw
From: Zurjaya at Zabra'jin
Objective: Kill Terrorclaw
Reward: 10750 experience, Swamprunner's Boots or Terrorcloth Mantle and 250 Darkspear Troll Rep. (Fierce Mantle for vendor sale)
From Watcher Leesa'oh, make your way to the southern-most island of Marshlight Lake, location 22, 46. Terrorclaw should be sitting in the middle of the island, unless he's been killed recently. He respaws after 5 - 10 minutes, so just loiter around if he's not up. Yet another very easy non elite kill.
Quest: [64] Impending Attack
From: Shadow Hunter Denjai in Zabra'jin
Objective: Retrieve the Ango'rosh Attack Plans
Reward: 10750 experience, 3g 10s and 250 Darkspear Troll Rep

After Terrorclaw, travel north to the beginning of Ango'rosh Grounds. You are looking for a large tower, around location 18,27. You need to fight to the top of the tower and loot the plans which are actually on the floor. Captain Krosh, the orge guarding them hits really fast when he goes into a furious rage for a short amount of time, then feels exhausted. But while he's in the furious rage, it's almost impossible to cast any non instant spells, like Shadowbolt. Once he's dead, loot the plans.

Quest: [64] Stealing Back the Mushrooms
From: Watcher Leesa'oh at the Cenarion Watchpost
Objective: Collect 10 Boxes of Mushrooms
Reward: 13350 experience, 6g 20s, 350 reputation with Cenarion Expedition and Zangar Epaulets. (Helm of Natural Purity for vendor sale)

From the tower, head to the very top of Ango'rosh Grounds, and then over the bridge. The bridge, which is in fact a mushroom, is located at 17, 14. Once you are over you will see boxes on the ground you can loot. If you run out of boxes, just start slaughtering all the Ogre's as they too can drop the boxes. It shouldn't take long to get your 10 at all.

Quest: [64] The Biggest of Them All
From: Zurjaya in Zabra'jin
Objective: Slay Mragesh
Reward: 10750 experience, 3g 10s, Adept's Elixir and 250 Darkspear Troll Rep
Once you have collected all your boxes of Mushrooms, return via Serpent Lake. On the island closest to the shore, you will find Mragesh. This large orange Hydra (3 heads) can be found wandering the island, or more likely, under water on the mainland side of the island. And usually, surrounded by three hundred frenzy fish! Non elite, very easy kill.
Once done, head back to Zabra'jin and hand in. Collect:
  1. Us or Them
  2. Message to the Daggerfen
After you have sold up, repaired and what have you, run down to Watcher Leesa'oh and hand in there.

Quest: [64] Message to the Daggerfen
From: Shadow Hunter Denjai at Zabra'jin
Objective: Slay 3 Daggerfen Assassins and 15 Daggerfen Muckdwellers
Reward: 10750 experience, 3g 10s and 250 Darkspear Troll Rep

Back up to Daggerfen Village ('C' on the map) and this time, kill everything in sight. The Muckdwellers will be everywhere, however your best bet for the Assassins is around the out edge of the Village, and in large pools of water. Simple kill quest, nothing to it.

Quest: [64] Us or Them
From: Shadow Hunter Denjai in Zabra'jin
Objective: Kill Overlord Gorefist, 10 Ango'rosh Maulers, and 10 Ango'rosh Souleaters
Reward: 13350 experience, 6g 20s, 250 Darkspear Troll Rep and vendor loot.

After Daggerfen Village it's back over the mushroom bridge to kill some Ogres. Once you cross the bridge, take a right and follow the path up. At the top of the path, on your left, you should see a hut. Inside the hut will be Overlord Gorefist guarded by two maulers. Take them out and then just run around killing what ever is around.

The Maulers and Souleaters are on the same spawn table, so just kill everything in sight if you don't find enough of one or the other at first. This area is crowded every now and then, so if everything in the camp is dead or camped, there is a field behind the camp full of Maulers and Souleaters at 20,4 that tends to be ignored by a lot of people.

Once done, return to Zabra'jin and hand in and then take a quick flight to Swamprat Post to hand in the Diaphanous Wings if you managed to collect all 8. Congratulations, Zangarmarsh is now complete!!

Group Quests
If you didn't do them while running around, you will have two group quests left in your log...

Quest: [63] Leader of the Bloodscale
From: The Wanted Poster at the Cenarion Refuge
Objective: Slay Rajis Fyashe at Serpent Lake
Reward: 12950 experience, 5g 80s, 350 Rep and Expedition Footgear to sell. (No Cloth Rewards)

Depending on your confidence, you can attempt to tackle Rajis solo. Or if you happen to have a friend close, it will make it much easier. You will find Rajis inside a raised temple/hut east of the steam pumps at Serpent Lake. Location 65, 41

Rajis is an elite caster who mainly casts Frostbolts at 2sec cast and hits for 600-800. Around 20 seconds into the fight, Rajis will being casting Frostbite, an icy circle which appears around you and hits for 2k damage or more. The good news is you can just move out of the circle and avoid the damage, just be sure to keep your eye out for it. Rajis can also summon an Elemental (or sometimes, four of them) which is low on hitpoints and easily dispatched of.

As mentioned, you can solo her, but even just one additional person will make the fight go a lot smoother.

Quest: [64] Leader of the Darkcrest
From: The Wanted Poster at the Cenarion Refuge
Objective: Slay Rajah Haghazed at the Lagoon
Reward: 13350 experience, 6g 20s, 350 Rep and Expedition Mantle to sell. (No Cloth Rewards)

Like Rajis, you can attempt to tackle Rajah solo, however it's always nice to have some friends, especially as Rajah is immune to fear. That said, if you have the Felguard, he is doable on your own. If you are attempting this solo, try to pull Rajas away from any other mobs and clear well. His Shield Charge has a considerable knock back, which if it sends you into a group of unwanted adds, can make the fight a lot harder.
