Re: [Zul'Aman] Zul'jin
Phase 1 is a basic tank and spank as far as ranged dps is concerned. Same for phase 2. Phase 3 is a fight where you'll want to use siphon life if you have it, and drain life for dps instead of shadow bolt. Life tap will trigger the 1250 damage from the tornadoes, so make sure you use it only if you're pretty much at max health. Phase 4 you will want to drain life/deathcoil if the boss targets you for the 4 second period of burst damage. Make sure to move around during phase 5 if you can because the fire pillars will kill you pretty fast. Overall this is a fairly easy boss, but will require a lot of gear/consumables to stay sustained. |

Re: [Zul'Aman] Zul'jin
use CoD when possible if you're the only source of shadow or CoS with another lock or SPriest. CoD at 70% ish Apply CoR at the start of P3. Wanding isnt a bad idea especially if you have a good one. careful with dots as aggro wipes after each phase but a good tank should be able to hold it. |

Re: [Zul'Aman] Zul'jin
Definitely be alert to not reapply dots near to the phase change, with one exception - at the end of phase 2, going into phase 3, it is a good idea for all dot users to pop a trinket and reapply dots just before he changes into phase 3, because there is no aggro in that phase, and applying your dots just before the change means you get them on there before they start to cost you health as casting does in p3. Helps with moving him quickly through that phase, especially if you are light on for melee. The recklessness tip is good for just before phase 3 too. For phase 3, I usually just wand if we have enough melee in the group, as there is a fair bit of damage from the tornados and the healers taking damage for healing (although we usually run with 2-2.5 healers so perhaps if you have 3 healers you might want to throw some dots and drain life). Bandaging is very good, try to save your healthstones/pots for phase 4. |

Re: [Zul'Aman] Zul'jin
The first 4-5 seconds after the transition into phase 3 he doesn't start the killer cyclones of doom. All he does is move to the center and start flying a little ways up into the air. This is a good time for all of the spell-dps (and dps in general) to pop everything and take him down as much as possible. My ZA groups can get him down 4%-7% depending on crits and suchlike. This strategy works better with a misdirect in place as well, but if your tank is on the ball he can get the threat he needs for this to work.

Re: [Zul'Aman] Zul'jin
Note on Eagle Phase: Depening on your gearing you can deathcoil and gain more health than you lose. Even if you wont gain health from the shot it is still a damage you are tossing in and it stresses your healers a little less. |

For phase 3 - WoWiki states: Quote:
Are there any Demo 'locks who have done this fight with their Felguard? Phase 1 and 2 seem to be 'made-for-Felguard' fights, but I was wondering about phase 3? |

Re: [Zul'Aman] Zul'jin
on eagle phase if your destruction you can shot a shadowbolt and at the same time do a drain life you will only get hit once by the lightning and will get at least 50% of the life you loose back cuz of drain life and if your aff just syphon life him ans drain life hiim all time you wont loose any life |

Re: [Zul'Aman] Zul'jin
You chaincast something with cast time >= GCD followed immediately by instacast and get hit only once. I use this strategy with my SP to keep VE and dots on him throughout the entire third phase. Also, never forget to take bandages there, they help quite a bit. If you are not running or casting then keep on wanding him. I did ~15k damage to him with my wand last time I was there

Re: [Zul'Aman] Zul'jin
I find that the problem with this is that your drain life won't complete. The tornadoes seem to be a lot.. friendlier ... if you cast. So yeah, you'll take 2500 damage, deal one shadowbolt +2ticks of drain life and cop it. Or just it just hate me? I just wand the guy and the amount of hassle I get is a lot less than when I was affliction and used siphon life. |
