Re: Dark Pact
Dark Pact is one of those spells that I feel tends to lean more towards the PvE side of life than PvP. Sure its fantastic while PvPing and your low on mana but don't want to sacrifice some of your health. But a lot of times in the heat of battle, the battles are either won before you need to hit it, or your dead. If its the prior then you can eat and drink or life tap and bandage. Having Dark Pact would be a nice option but at that point isn't needed. It truely shines when you can do it in battle, but I do not believe it to be all that useful for PvP. On the leveling side of things, Dark Pact is fantastic. With a good affliction spec, utilizing Dark Pact, you can take on several mobs at once with few worries. Dotting them up, hitting dark pact as you switch to a new mob, and repeating that cycle a few times will leave you standing with a descent amount of mana and health, a lot of bodies to loot, and little down time. Raid fights tend to last long enough for you to clear out your mana bar two to three times. Having Dark Pact is fantastic as it gives you a quick return on mana and doesn't put your healers out by having an extra heal sent your way. This is especially useful while attempting new raids that aren't quite yet on farm status or while gearing up as your healers will need to pay extra close attention on the Tanks health. Either way, Dark Pact is a great talent across the board but it isn't super important. It is a great option for restoring mana when needed.

Re: Dark Pact
I always die before OOM in pvp. For affliction, I get better dps using imp than felpuppy. Imp hasn't got mana to spare in that case and life tap before haunt health return is fine. So I don't spec dark pact atm in affliction. If you insist on using felpuppy then it becomes more valuable. Won't be useful to destro because imp needs his mana (again) In raids, it might be worth the point for when you're low on health *and* mana but I'm not speccing it atm. |

Re: Dark Pact
anyone noticed that dark pact doesn;t work as it used to? before the patch, dp would drain mana from imp even if he had very little, you'd get back the amount he had at that moment. Now if he has 600-700 mana left and you dp, you get nothing. Anyone noticed this? I even tried to downrank dark pact, but with my spellpower, dp rank 4 drains 2000 mana, and dp rank 1 drains 1600 (tooltips for dp's are 700 mana and 305 respectively) |

Re: Dark Pact
I didn't find a use for DP in raids, mana regen was o'plenty and haunt would counter my lifetaps. Very easy to sustain. |

Re: Dark Pact
Personally, I think the single point in Dark Pact is worth it. There are some fights, where you take so much AoE damage that using Life Tap puts an extra burden on the healers. A burden that I'm already trying to reduce using Haunt and Siphon Life. If you're absolutely scratching for a point to shave in your spec, and you've cut back everywhere else, then you might want to take the point out of Dark Pact. But it's only a single point, and it's probably one of the better single-point talents. It's a situational talent - useful for times when you can't Life Tap, but still want a bit of mana regen. When I don't have it, I want it. |

Re: Dark Pact
Not sure what the deal is, but Dark Pact has reverted back to giving 100% mana back instead of 200%. Just noticed this today whilst doing some dailies. Is it a bug or is it intended... hopefully just a bug. |

Dark Pact???
My dark pact says 1200 mana gained, but when I use it on my imp, I get about 3k mana. Is this normal? Yes I still use dark pact. It is EXTREMELY helpful for certain fights. |

Re: Dark Pact???
Ofcourse it CAN be usefull but imho : - Your pet probably isn't joining in the fight aka no pet dps - You lose time darkpacting you could otherwise be casting hurtful spells (loss of cast time) - The mana/casttime efficiency of Lifetap is much higher aka more usefull. |

Re: Dark Pact???
dact pact is a good backup, yet life tap should be your first choice of mana regen |
