Talent information:
Talent Tree: Affliction, Tier 5
Requires: 20 points already spent in Affliction Talents
Transfers health from the target to yourself.

Ranks:

Rank 1: Transfers 15 health from the target to the caster every 3 sec. Lasts 30 sec.

Rank 2 (Level 38 Spell Upgrade): Transfers 22 health from the target to the caster every 3 sec. Lasts 30 sec.

Rank 3 (Level 48 Spell Upgrade): Transfers 33 health from the target to the caster every 3 sec. Lasts 30 sec.

Rank 4 (Level 58 Spell Upgrade): Transfers 45 health from the target to the caster every 3 sec. Lasts 30 sec.

Rank 5 (Level 63 Spell Upgrade): Transfers 52 health from the target to the caster every 3 sec. Lasts 30 sec.

Rank 6 (Level 70 Spell Upgrade): Transfers 63 health from the target to the caster every 3 sec. Lasts 30 sec.

Rank 7 (Level 75 Spell Upgrade): Transfers 70 health from the target to the caster every 3 sec. Lasts 30 sec.

Rank 8 (Level 80 Spell Upgrade): Transfers 81 health from the target to the caster every 3 sec. Lasts 30 sec.

Phenix Character Info Phenix 70 Gnome Warlock Nordrassil US PvE Guild: By the Light Profile: Blizzard Armory Talent Spec: ?/?/?	Siphon Life Am I reading this right? SL is 16% of base mana but Haunt is only 12%. Doesn't that basically make SL useless on mana efficiency basis? Or really on any basis.

XavronMG Character Info Xavron 80 Gnome Warlock Moon Guard US RP PvE Guild: Veritas Profile: Blizzard Armory Talent Spec: 53/1/17	Siphon Life Worse... Siphon Life talent (in-game, just looked) is now only 15 health every 3 seconds for 30 seconds. WoWHead's talent calculator says that it's 81 every 3 seconds (which is modestly useful), but in-game it's screwed.

Reubicant Character Info Reubicant 70 Blood Elf Warlock Mug'thol US PvP Guild: Basher LLC Profile: Blizzard Armory Talent Spec: 0/21/40	Siphon Life I'm pretty sure the in-game talent sheet shows Rank 1 effects of all new spells. 81 health transferred every 3 seconds is actually Rank 8, which requires level 80.

Soulzar Character Info Soulzar 70 Human Warlock Medivh US PvE Guild: Trismegistus Profile: Talent Spec: Destro	Siphon Life SL was (donno bout now) one of the affliction locks highest damage per cast time spells. It beat out corruption, UA, Shadow bolt. Its longer duration is probably the reason for a slightly higher mana cost. It is the spell buffed the most by Everlasting Affliction so I dont see if falling behind with new talents and still being one of the best spells to cast. I dont think the mana cost difference would kill its viability to be used or its status as one of the best DPCT spells in an affliciton locks rotation. Anybody running affliction that can give me numbers from a ahunt build? We can see where SL sits in terms of damage per cast time and even mana per damage done quite easily.

Maybe I should see whether I've trained up at the Warlock Trainer for the upper ranks of Siphon Life. I suspect that's it... my spell book only shows Rank 1 for Siphon Life. (oops) Ah well, that's why I came here, to figure out what I was doing wrong and whether other folks saw the same thing.
