SE Bug - For the good of the raid

Please move this if it belongs elsewhere. Since my question is both about a specific talent and raid spec I am not sure where to post it.

Okay, so we know shadow embrace is currently bugged and only applies to the first affliction lock to hit the mob with haunt or a shadow bolt. This means that any other affliction locks will be losing out on about 10% of their dot damage, right?

I recently joined a new guild and so far have been putting out top dps, but I am one of two affliction locks. Even without SE last night I put up 3.6k dps on Razuvious. My question is, since I am the new guy in the guild and can't really ask the other lock to respec (although his dps is quite low right now) should I stay affliction or try deep destro, since that appears to be the 2nd highest dps spec? I just don't know which would be better without going through the change and testing it.

Re: SE Bug - For the good of the raid

Its about 7-8% dps loss for the lock that doesn't get the SE buff. A loss in DPS that probably would be matched when you respec, so really there's no point.

Re: SE Bug - For the good of the raid

If Rutienne is correct, then you lose out about the same DPS no matter what move you make. If thats the case, I'd be sitting tight as Blizz will fix the SE Bug at some point.

Although if it is anything like the old Shammy Stormstrike bug that afflicted the class since Storm Strike came into being and was only fixed when BC came out, then you might be waiting a while for the SE bug fix.

(Stormstrike together with Improved Windfury should have allowed a shammy to attack 3 times if Windfury proc which was almost a guarantee in the old days, but the bug prevented the windfury proc, there was a workaround that shammies used in the form of a macro, but that wasn't entirely great either)
