Re: Suppression
I personally gear for 13% hit and take 1 point in Suppression (no points in Cataclysm). Thus, with Misery, I hit 17% hit. Generally it's better to hit the hitcap with gear as Affliction because our tree is so bloated.

Re: Suppression
Does 2 points in Cataclysm change your hit for everything (affliction and destro) or does it only modify your destro casts like the info pop-up says? Currently, I have 3 points in Suppression and 2 in Cataclysm. I'm still not able to work out the math everyone seems to be using. hehe If our hit cap is 17% and you gear for 13% with one point in Suppression then your hit should be roughly 14%... What am I missing? Please list the variables that your other 3% are coming from. I may be missing something and if that's the case, I have 60 or more Spell Damage sitting on the table somewhere that's doing nothing at all. Please explain what you mean by "bloated" talent tree. Re: Suppression
The extra 3% everyone is talking about is from other buffs. Balance druid's Improved Faerie Fire and a shadow priest's Misery both increase your chance to hit a target by 3%. Cataclysm will only increase your hit for destro spells. |

Re: Suppression
Ok... so a 14% hit rating with 3 points in Suppression is right where I should be at unless I'm grouped with a Shadow Priest then I can drop another 3% and equip some more DPS. That about sum it up? Thanks, Daggs |

Re: Suppression
Please: Put a link to the "+Hit guide" in the first post. I usually gear for 13% and take 1% into cataclysm/supression. The reason is that 2 points in the affliction tree can be used for threat reduction, however that last point usually does not find a better place, so it's better to convert it into hit rating and get some more spellpower in my gear. I have a trinklet that I switch in and +hit food for if I end up raiding without a shadow priest / oomkin. |
