Walk away from alliance?

Just a general question kind of been on my mind for a few months...I have 4 level 70 alliance toons, (I know silly me) decently geared and two that I just dink around with to help with missing classes in raids or heroics.

How does one walk away from that much invested time to reroll on the horde side (Or alliance if your horde) and not feel like you wasted your time leveling an gearing them up?

I have a few horde toons, but lack the commitment to level to 70 becasue I feel like I wasted time leveling my alliance toons, only to reroll horde.

Just wanting to knwo if anyone else has done this (I am sure they have) and what thier thoughts are.

Thanx

Re: Walk away from alliance?

I suppose it's a matter of perception. You could think of it as walking way, or trying something new. If anything you will get an understanding for the other side of the fence. You will see how the other classes operate in first person, rather than reading it from a forum or strategy guide. Why is this of interest? If you decide that horde is not for you and you'd prefer your alliance chars again.. you now have a bit more understanding how that Undead whatever thats coming at you in the arena is going to operate.

While I'm sure that you probably already do have a good understanding of such things.. its still a perspective change. I remember when I made my first alliance character (im mostly horde) and saw a human. The name plate wasnt yellow or red and that kinda struck me as odd. I saw an undead later and though.. "oh hi there fellow horde!! wait.. a sec."

If anything, for content that you dont get on the alliance side.
It wouldnt be like you were deleting your Alliance characters, and it doesnt mean you have to keep the horde if you dont like them.

Just my thoughts.

Re: Walk away from alliance?

I have 3 70 Alliance toons and 2 70 Horde toons. I prefer Horde, but my Alliance came first. I just rerolled about 6 months ago and I am very glad I did. Might just be the server I picked, but it was a great choice for me. My Alliance toons were all in very good gear when I left (Kara-SSC/TK stuff) and though I was kind of sad to see all my effort collecting dust, it's fun to start all over. I still go back to my Alliance toons from time to time, but never for anything serious, just to say hi to old friends. I am not crazy about gear, it's just as easy to gear up another character IMO. All my time was well spent, Horde or Alliance. Had fun getting to 70 and gearing up all my characters. Don't really feel like it all went to waste, just moved on I guess

option 1 - buy a 2nd account so you dont have lose your 70 to re-roll.

option 2 - get drunk, delete your 70's in a fit of alcohol induced rage, now you have no choice but to level a new toon.

option 3 - reroll the other side on a different server, and play both (if you have the time)

Or as long as you aren't on a PVP server, you can just leave your 70's hanging out on the same server

Re: Walk away from alliance?

Just reroll in time for your new char to hit level 70 right before the next expansion comes out. The expansion will make all the gear on your current chars obsolute anyway, and within 2 weeks from it coming out your new char will outgear anything the best geared chars have right now.

In the grand scheme of things, my opinion doesn't matter to anyone (except me of course), but if you want it here it is...do what you need to do to keep the game fun and interesting or you are just wasting your time and money.

For easybreasy mode, just go horde hunter and you're golden!

Re: Walk away from alliance?

The guild I'm in now is on a PvE server and we have a horde guild and alliance guild on the same server. I didn't check to see if your server is a PvP or not, but talk to some of the people in your guild and see if they would be interested in starting some horde toons. That way you could still play with friends while experiencing something new.

Re: Walk away from alliance?

Thanks for the replies all. I have a few friends who actually have level 70 horde toons, along with thier alliance toons who are edging me to reroll. Still in the thinking phases tho. Agian ty
