Becareful who you group with
Last night I was kinda bored so I got in trade chat and was asking "LFG Onyxia pst". Suprisingly I found a holy pally attuned in less than 5 mins. I invited him to group and started looking for a tank cause he suggested that we 3 man it for "max loot cause its not worth it with more than 3". He had a prot pally friend who was attuned in his guild that was interested in going so I threw him leader and he got invited. I ran to the AH really fast to buy some Raid pots and such and respecc for dps.
I bought the healer some +healing pots and food and +shadow pots for me. I couldnt find anything for the tankadin. They ran over there while I was doing all the transactions and they summoned me. Just as we were about to go after the first group of guards the tankadin informs me that I will have to bandage after I life tap fighting Onyxia. I was quite beside myself but let it slide. Just as after we cleared the last of the guards I barely had enough time to give the +healing pots/food to the healer before the tank ran in and aggroed the boss. Things went decent through the first phase. I ended up pulling aggro a few times. The first time I made the mistake of running to the tank and he got kinda pissed. It being my 2nd time fighting Onyxia I was still quite unfamiliar with the fight. About the time I made that mistake the tank was complaining that the dps wasnt enough and we needed more. He made this comment quite alot during the fight. During phase 2 I just flat out dpsed Onyxia as best I could. The tank and healer kept the welps off me. But when Onyxia landed aggro reset and I managed to pull aggro with SBs that were already flying at her before she landed >.< I soul shattered so the tank could get her off me. Then tank asked me to SS the healer and I did so. (I didnt have time at the beginning cause the tank rushed in) The whole time I was noticing that when I got heals they were quite delayed. The healer was letting me sweet it out a bit. I began to realize something was up but continued to dps. I was watching my Omen to make sure I didnt pull aggro but didnt realize it didnt reset my threat when Onyxia landed for the 3rd phase. I enevitably pulled aggro due to this. When I did pull aggro I had about 45 sec left on CD for Soul Shatter. I thought we would be fine but due to the healer delaying his heals on me I was under 50% when he started casting a heal for me. Then the most dreadful thing happened. Onyxia fears us all. No heals for me. When fear broke I was like 10%. The healer couldnt get the heal off in time and I died with Onyxia at 15%. The tank went nuts saying how much I sucked and blah blah blah. Then he asked if I was afk. I said "No". Then he proceeded to ask me to release and come back in to finish the fight. Having done this exact thing on Prince once I learned my lesson. I replied "I wasnt born yesterday and I know what your trying to do". He then received raid leader from the healer and changed it to group loot. A couple of mins go by and he says "It was always group loot. I changed it to that in phase 2" which was complete BS. I tell he keeps complaining how they need dps with Onyxia at 7%. They throw group leader and looter around before they eventually kick me from the group. So I just /1 and inform them that when I auto hearth out I'm letting everyone in SW know about it. They gave no response. I ended up auto hearthing out with 1% left on Onyxia. /cry This whole time I'm telling my guild members not to run with so and so b/c of how they just treated me. Now this whole time I have been friendly and nice to these guys. The tank was the only jerkoff talking the whole time. The healer didnt say anything after we were in. But they were both in the same guild so I figure the other guy was just as bad since he didnt speak up against what the tank was saying. Let my story show you that you need to be really careful with who you group with. If you have any similiar stories plz share. (sorry for the long story. just had to vent some of it off and maybe you can not make the same mistakes) |

Re: Becareful who you group with
my story.
Kara had just reset so i see a LFM kara. i get summoned and help take out the horse at the start (no loot for me) the next one (no loot for me again) and then take out maiden (first time in kara btw and they knew that too) and some pants drop for me. i ask can i need? then someones say "let the lock have it his gear is crap, which it was, but then boom, 'you have been removed from the group'. so no more kara for me and no loot from that messing around... |

Re: Becareful who you group with
A little paranoia goes a long way...have them shift click the new guys name and just use /invite <so and so>. Helps prevent such things.
I was in a group with a bad hunter yesterday, it turned out to be the same hunter my guild leader said never to group with, the day before I believe it was. I wonder how much food costs that hunter, instead of letting the 68 paladin agro, he suicided his bear to agro... |
