Interesting Aggro/gank story
Howdey peeps.
My pally friend and I had been doing a chain of quests involving those demons just north of Thrallmar. An ally pally was hanging out around there too. My friend and I would occasionally run up and Mana Tap him, but we never attacked or killed him. During our third quest up there, a 70 mage dropped down next to the pally with us targeted. Apparently the pally said we weren't ganking him because the mage flew off. Next we saw the pally pull a few mobs, and then aggro'd a few more, trying to help him out, we ran over and I dotted up two of the mobs. I quickly pulled aggro on the two and Howled as soon as they got to me, needless to say those two were feared right into the two bigger demons that patrol the area. My pally friend and I prepared to do battle with those big demons as we expected all of them to charge at us. Instead, every one of those demons turned and attacked the Ally Pally! We were shocked and a lot of laughing ensued as we tried to help save the pallys life. We didn't. Shortly after the 70 mage dropped back down again, obviously thinking we ganked the ally, but luckally for us a 70 hunter (horde) dropped down with the mage targeted, and he flew off. Still, I always thought that if I had aggro, and feared mobs, or just feared them if someone else had aggro, that the additional mobs would come for me. This may have opened a new door of ganking for me. |

Re: Interesting Aggro/gank story
So fear lets us train mobs onto others... not technically griefing, so very handy!
Have other people on PvP servers made this work or is it just a glitchy kinds of thing that only happens in certain circumstances? |

Re: Interesting Aggro/gank story
I talked with my friend about this after it happened last night. We'll be doing some tests but I have a feeling this is just an odd glitch. For all intents and purposes, once I had the aggro, and feared the mob, all the aggro'd mobs should have charged me and not the original pally. If it is just a glitch, at least I got a good laugh out of it.
