The glory days of locks...

I know right now alot of people are down on locks, heck alot of locks are down on locks...

However, I think this is the glory days of locks. From my personal experince I am still toping meters(or atleasy top 3 in 25 mans). Thats not even the best part.

The best part of my lock right now is I can play around with multiple specs(each with different play styles) and still kick out a ton of damage. From the looks of it this won't last. It is only a matter of time befor the gear starts scaleing better with specs that either inclue emberstorm and S&F or affliction( due to Shadow Mastery and other talents).

So I say enjoy your locks. You can show up to raids with a differnt spec for each day of the week. It might not be the best possible dps but atleast your not draging behind and its alot of fun.

I remember that, being in the top 3 dps, going into trade chat and see constant nerf locks and QQing lol

re: The glory days of locks...

IF you are rolling in the top 3 of damage meters during your 25 man raids, you may want to question the quality of your other dps...

Hunters, mages, Death Knights, etc are just crazy damage atm. In my last raid (before quitting due to locks being such an easy HK in PvP) our hunters were hitting 10K dps on aoe pulls and shredding the meters on boss fights.

Check WWStats and you will see that your "in the top 3" is the exception to the rule and not the norm. Also, when you post a claim like that Post your WWS if you don't post it, it didn't happen.

Finally, glory is mispelled on your subject line

to be fair, it wasn't mispelled it was mistyped...

While I concede that this might not be the case for everyone I have to think my expiernce is about average. All I am saying is that instead of crying about the plight of locks maybe you should enjoy the flexiblity befor its gone. But you can enjoy your "quitting due to locks being such an easy HK in PvP" and trolling forums trying to put others down.

enough QQ about the state of locks. relearn to play your class, and find the edge you need to stay on top. for some these changes come harder, but just get over it or reroll.im a lock through and through have been for 2 years and that will never change. everyone just needs to learn to adapt to the changes and roll with it.

That´s the spirit. And then someone posts a WWS report and you don't have anything else to say

I agree we aren't as bad as some say we are. We might not be the best, or Blizzard wouldn't be nerfing hunters, but we aren't bad either.

Yeah, I agree with the OP. Haven't enjoyed being a lock as much as I do now for a long time. Good times!

No offense. It is true. You really NEED to question the rest of the DPS. The fact of the matter is your guild members should rethink what they are doing, speccing in or what they are gearing up with. You shouldn't even be #1. You would be most likely 5-10 depending on the composition of your dps.

I'm sticking to my lock still, but don't champion our class for what it isn't. We are at best, mid-range dpsers at this point. Hope most enjoyed BC meter topping, it might be a while until we see it again.

Re: The glory days of locks...

For me topping DPS meters seems harder then before, but don't think that's a reference since I'm not raiding yet and the gear range of the people I group with is very different.

What I did notice during my levelling to 80, is that playing a Lock is more fun then in The Burning Crusade, maybe it's personal taste, but really loving it and was able to get out of painfull PvE and world PvP situations (not Battleground/Arena), with the trics we have up our sleave. I'm not saying I owned in PvP far from it, but it felt like the odds were better then in Outland, where I had the feeling I had a big sign on my back sayin 'Free HK' ...
Also in PvE with a little patience and rediscovery of my Lock, I was able to pull of crazy stuff. One thing was for sure, I had to unlearn playing my The Burning Crusade Lock and learn to play my WOTL Lock, which was a fun thing actually...

About DPS, is beeing in the Top 3 so important ? What about the players outside of the Top 3 (not talking about Tank/Healers) are they unhappy by definition ? Don't ask me, I had the luxuary to be in the Top 3 during The Burning Crusade raids, maybe because we didn't make it to endgame, maybe I outgeared the others, maybe even because I did well, who knows... the most important thing is, we had fun clearing an instance, even the ones who weren't in the Top 3.

Love Sita

Re: The glory days of locks...

Yesterday night I go 4.9k DPS on Patchwerk 25, no Elemental Shaman. I did 11% of the damage, nr2 did 9.9% damage with 4.6k DPS (our Mage CL).

In PvE Warlocks are just fine. Play Affliction, learn how to get off a good rotation (which is hard but you will get used to it) and top the meters. Life Tap taps for insane amounts of mana these days! (Bound to be nerfed btw...)

Our true problems lie in PvP but I just won't even start about it... >_<.
