Re: Class Census: Warlocks fading out
I love my priest. I love priests in general, and I love how easy it is to get a group with her, but sometimes you just want to take a break from healing. You know. To hurt people. So someone else can heal them. |

Re: Class Census: Warlocks fading out
that's why we have dual spec? lol... no i understand I have a 80 mage lock and hunter... I love playing pure dps class, but we have a constant shortage of healers so i can never play them as often as i want |

Re: Class Census: Warlocks fading out
I don't care if I end up being the last Lock in the game (and a Gnome one at that). I like the class, I enjoy the playstyle and am consistently in the top 5 dps on 25-person raids. If the guiding metric for each class and each player is to always be #1 dps (which it seems an inordinate number of players always claim to be), then the vast majority of players will be de facto failures. Play what you like and as long as you are contributing, let the numbers fall where they may. Thanks! |

And even if our numbers start to dwindle on the brink of collapse it will only mean less lock alts that think their just a mage with shadow damage, and more hardcore locks that know what we are doing and can maybe again become the bane of all servs and sought more heavily then Ulda 25 epics to fill group positions ![]() Salute to my brothers and sisters of darkness, may your shard bag runith over with the souls of your vanquised foes..

I know we are a few and i'm really happy about it ![]() PuGging VoA and being the only warlock in raid is really sweet, if something with class:warlock on it drops, then it's MINE ![]() And within guild, warlock is one of the classes having the least competition for raid spots, which is also cool! Really hope it stays like this tbh

Re: Class Census: Warlocks fading out
My main was a gnome rogue. My shammy healer is now my main & my lock is 79 & going to be my main DPS toon. I love my lock. My rogue is ok but he's a gnome. I spend 99.9% of all battles looking at giant asses or beating on somethings ankles. When i'm in the mess of battle I sometimes can't tell if the mob I have targeted is the one in front of me & I get a lot of "i'm too far away" messages. It's been real frustrating for me. PVP is still fun though. with the lock, I fire & forget from a distance & don't have to worry about position. |

Re: Class Census: Warlocks fading out
I'm a warlock through and through. I think once you find the class your into you stick with it. I get bored with him and doing the same thing over and over again and see lack of tanking/healing so I try to level a melee class, but fail and end up back with my warlock. I think half the people play find a char they love and stick with it. Then there are the turn-table people who look for the OP class and switch to it level it and play it till it's nerfed. I know I saw a huge increase in locks when I re-rolled to mine near the ending of BC. I kept hearing how OP they were and I just really enjoyed mine. When Wrath came out he was the only one I played and he is currently the only 80 I have even though I had like 5 70's at the release of Wrath. I dunno where I was going with this except to say that I love my lock and even though I have alts, they are alts, warlock comes first and foremost imo. |

Re: Class Census: Warlocks fading out
My first character in WoW was a Gnome 'lock specced in Destruction. Back then I really didn't know a whole lot about how to play the game, let alone any specific class. I got my main (at the time) to the mid-40's and gave up playing for a while because it felt like it took forever to accomplish anything. I wasn't really doing much more than questing. Fast forward a bit-- my current main is an Undead 'lock (currently specced Demonology). I've since learned a lot about my class and leveling has become much faster and more enjoyable. I have been running more dungeons with groups lately, all the while being careful not to overstep my place as a DPS caster and being mindful of my pet. I find that people really appreciate my healthsones while running an instance. I've spared us the long run back to our bodies after a wipe by putting a soulstone on the healer so we can all be res'ed on the spot. I believe Hunters with Engineering are well-regarded for their ability to feign death and jump-start the healer back to life with a set of jumper cables. Why not warlocks? I am also starting to get over my fear of turning on the PvP flag I now like to keep an eye on the Local Defense channel in case I catch an Alliance player around my same level doing something regrettable. The fun factor has gone up a lot.I have to say that based on my experience, the Warlock class is very fun to play and very rewarding if the player takes the right steps to learn about the class. It is definitely a process and I am still learning, but feel that I have come a long way. I suppose that applies to other classes as well; perhaps to varying degrees. I don't know the numbers but Warlocks seem to be alive and well on my server. I am always running into one. Looking forward to learning dual-talent and trying out Affliction soon once I get my first armor set I'm working toward building up faction rep in Outland so I can get the Dreadweave Battlegear.

Re: Class Census: Warlocks fading out
This old Fel Dog here will never give up the class, for anything! I have a strong 'Semper Fi' attitude towards the class, regardless of the times, the different flavors, broken or fixed, in buff or nerf. Warlocks FOREVER! I'm glad the days of BC were over and that when Wrath came, all those miserable, sorry FOTMers left. Whether Blizzard has dealt with us properly or not isn't the point. They were not true warlocks at all. But what makes a true, real warlock? It doesn't have to be a warlock that started in the Classic Days(when many of us have). ALL-WEATHER warlocks, not FAIR-weather ones! |
