Re: Vent(?): Girls in WoW
I have a female Mage character. As many of you know, I like the Lore of Warcraft, and writing stories. So I created her to be the Jaina Proudmoore of my Horde toons. And it gives me a female character to use when i write my stories. I never really get any oddness from other players, usually because I only tend to play with a RL friend I have while leveling. I've finally got her to level 40, so I'm half way there!

Re: Vent(?): Girls in WoW
My very first character in WoW was male, and i am female. When i made this char i was just fooling around on my bfs computer, with absolutely no intention of playing him(hes now full T8.5).I also had no idea of how Wow functioned socially. To me it was just a game an "rpg" ,choosing a character at that time was like "ok,i want a magic user, and something evil looking" so another undead warlock was born. Most people were surprised when they found out i was a girl in real life, some guys would actually get an attitude with me"If i knew you were a chick,i could've been hitting on you this entire time "That was roughly 3 yrs ago. Now i have a few female alts, and surprise i get the exact same attitude. We have plenty of females on our server, and some of my guilds best players are women.I have actually had a few people refuse to believe i was female,"anyone can change their voice on vent".These days I just find this all amusing, but at the same time i have a hard time accepting that some people can really be so sexist when it comes to an online game. Also when blizzard first introduced character re-customization I did change my main undead male warlock to female. It only lasted 30 days as i didnt really feel it was the same character, and a few guildies commented on it too,and am much happier these days being the same old Undead male warlock. |

Re: Vent(?): Girls in WoW
I'm a female and my first and main character I made was always female. I deff always felt like Mandalai was an "extension of myself" so I gave her hair like mine and features like mine, and she is a human. I suppose I got used to this after playing The Sims - almost all of my Sims are based on people I know in real life. People usually assume I'm a guy, but once they hear me on vent, theres almost always a comment about my voice. Even my friends who know I'm a girl and have met me in real life tend to squeal with laughter - I guess people just aren't used to hearing a female voice very often! I sometimes play in my boyfriend's guild where I am the only girl, and most if not all of them "hit" on me, but they know who my boyfriend is and it's always just out of fun - not seriously. I play the whole "I have boobs so obviously that tier piece should go to me" game a lot.

Re: Vent(?): Girls in WoW
OK. Male with male orc-lock. I usually stay quiet on vent, due to the layout of my house (wakes the family up and wife aggro is the worst). Anyway, when I finally spoke one day, had a guildie ask who I was, because he thought I was a girl. Go figure. Must type too feminine. |
