Re: Cataclysm

I found this to be incredibly helpful with the addition of raid-wide buffs to the extent that I was finally able to equip some non+hit items and benefit from increased SP/Crit/Haste which are of course far better DPS increases after hit cap - in a raid situation the decreased mana consumption is again a DPS boost as I don't have to spend as many GCD's lifetapping (although the difference is moderate it really adds up on longer encounters).

For levelling where we'll be fighting mobs above our level its again, an invaluable talent given the diminishing effectiveness of current +hit itemisation (and lack thereof whilst levelling for the most part) the decreased mana useage of course results in less downtime.

PvP/Arena - again, it allows you more flexibility with gear given that it goes a long way towards the PvP hitcap and potentially a little more "staying power" without having to resort to the "Do I or Don't I" choices of lifetapping late in a BG/Match.

Absolutely essential talent while levelling and certainly won't ever be removed from a raiding destruction spec unless itemisation takes a rapid turn away from the current popular haste/crit/SP choices.

Cataclysm..Is it the same?

Ok..so I am a deep destro lock and I was putting my points back in the destruction tree after 3.1 patch came out. I noticed that cataclysm only stated.."Reduces the cost of mana on destructions spells by 10%"..So what i would really really like to know is...Do we still get the 3% hit out of it?..Also if not..since I am just assuming Blizz nerfed something else once again..I put those 3 points in suppression under the affliction tree..hoping that i would still get to benefit from the 3% hit that it provides. Does suppression work for all spells..or is it only a Affliction dependent talent?
