Grim Reach 2 Broken?

Hey everyone, I just purchesed Grim Reach 2 last night and was noticing something. With GR1 I had a 10% increase in range and 30yrd spells went to 33, 20yrd spells went to 22, etc, just as it should be. However, when I got GR2, my 30/33 yrd spells became 35yrd and my 20/22 yrd spells became 23. Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't they be 36 and 24 respectively? I mean it DOES say 20%, but it is only giving me a 15% increase :(

Anyways, if anoyone else has any feedback, would be glad to hear it. If this is a bug, we should see about getting it fixed. If this topic has been covered elsewhere.. well, I didn't find it in search :p

EDIT: 15% not 5% :p

Grim Reach 2 Broken?

It being worth it or not though I a personal choice. With it saying 20% and giving 15%, I am thinking that when I respec, if I keep it, I will only get level 1.

Grim Reach or Improved Life Drain ?

I've presently got 5/5 in Improved Life Drain and 1/2 in Grim Reach. Which would be better: To leave this as is or go 4/5 Improved Life Drain and 2/2 in Grim Reach. For your information I'm specced 21/30/0 with affliction to Siphon Life.

I do play BGs and being in raid groups I don't use life drain as much. I would think the added 10% to affliction spell range would be better than 2% increase in Life Drain.

Opinions?

Thanks,

Re: Grim Reach or Improved Life Drain ?

just let you know that imp life drain only apply to base damage. that means all those damage+ gear does not help. I personally don think its really worth it. not untill they acturally make it a skill AFTER gears. thsoe points is more worth it spend else where like imp life tap or lower resist.

Re: Grim Reach or Improved Life Drain ?

Thanks, guys,

I went through the respec and swapped it out. Also, had to move my two points in improved firestone to improved succubus as well. Not using firestones now that I don't solo at 60. Was frustrating though have to spend 20g plus rebuying my Siphon Life spells.

Can't wait to give this respec a whirl in BGs and instances.

Thanks again for the advice.

Re: Grim Reach

LEVELING
Grim reach is a boon while leveling because it lets you grab mobs with less running around because of the increased distance. This results in faster grinding because of less running and smoother/shorter battles because you've got even more tics on your dots before the mobs reach you. Worth having for the convenience alone, but more dps oriented players may elect for different talents at lower levels.

RAIDING
Any talent that keeps you out of some boss's crazy aoe range is a talent worth having. Grim reach extends your range by a fifth. Often, that's the difference between being able to escape damage while continuing to dps or being stuck in range and diverting your healer's attention.

PVP
Again range is king. Being able to stay out of a warrior's intercept range or dot up a group from afar is invaluable. Plus you have a 20% more distance between you and you're foe whenever you have to kite them to death. Dot and run becomes even more effective and chain fearing is more viable as your casts are not ended by range as quickly.

All that being said, Grim Reach is an awesome talent that I highly recommend. Sure it's simple, but it opens up your ability to attack and retreat so much that it's definitely worth the 2 points.
