Fel Stamina vs Fel Energy

I was talking to another warlock on my server, who is a good friend and who is in a much more "l33t" guild then mine, and he told me something interesting, and I just wanted to confirm it with people here.

He told me that Fel Stamina (the buff you get from sacc'in a voidy) cause aggro as though you were a)being healed and b)you yourself were the healer.

if this is true, then it is generating a lot more threat on some of the big bosses that I really don't want/need. I wanted to know if others could back this up?

Thanks ahead for your time. You guys run a great site. I almost gave up playing my warlock once-this site turned me around!

Re: Fel Stamina vs Fel Energy

Life Tap does NOT generate threat.

This has been confirmed on the official boards.

Passive HP regeneration does not increase threat, to my knowledge, but the voidwalker Demonic Sacrifice does. So yes, using it in a boss fight might give you some unwanted threat, but keep in mind that A) threat generated from healing is half the ammount healed, and B) that's threat your healer isn't generating by healing you.

Some fights it's good for, I'd imagine (non-aggro sensitive fights where you might be taking AoE or trash mob hits, I'd bet), while it's bad in some other fights.

In an aggro sensitive fight, I'd definitely go with felhunter sacrifice if you had to sacrifice anything... though if you're to MD, you might as well just have the imp out for blanket aggro reduction.

Fel Stamina or Fell Intellect

If you had to choose between putting points in one talent or the other, which one and why?

I'm affliction up to SM and demonology up to MS. Primarily PvE and dungeons.

Thanks!

Stam stam and more stam. You can always use it to tap after all. Your primary goal should be +stam and +damage. Int is completely secondary to that

Re: Fel Stamina or Fell Intellect

if you are an affliction lock with dark pact i suggest, getting more mana for your imp, so you can steal more from it , the stamina is also a good choice, it really just depends on what you want.

Re: Fel Stamina or Fell Intellect

IN general Fel Stamina, 3% more health for yourself while not incredible, is still nice (gives me almost 300 more health at 70 with my imp out). With Dark Pact Fel Intellect is indeed nice as well. Luckily with my spec I get both, but if I ever decide to pick up Malediction for 25-man raids, I'd say I'll give up Fel Intellect first (I get Spirit/Mark/BoW on my Imp in raids, PLUS my 2-peice Oblivion bonus, my Imps regen is crazy, so his total mana really isn't to big a concern)

Fel Stamina since you don't have DP.

Re: Fel Stamina or Fell Intellect

Stamina is the better deal over all. Not only does it keep you alive, in the case of a warlock hps can be turned directly to mana. Think of it as int that can shapeshift

Of course, a heavy crit-lock might want that extra pure int to help crits? Something to think about anyway. Affliction effects can't crit so no worries there.
