Yeah, if you have 60% uptime, that's the correct number for the % damage bonus. 1.12, or a 12% damage increase. Duh-nah!

Keep in mind that's assuming that you have equal dps throughout the entire fight. If You got a lucky string of crits while your trinkets were popped it would be different but that is nearly impossible to model. In general though, it is indeed that simple. |

Since the patch, it has become more useful imo... previously, it was a debuff on the mob, meaning even simple wanding (with a shadow wand) from a silly mage would eat up the debuff ticks... now it (shadow mastery) adds as a buff to your shadow bolt / shadowburn damage, meaning if your last hit on a mob is a crit, you can take what's left of that buff and use it on your next victim

Glad you got your answer mosheim but remember, thread titles like "Major noobie question" or "help" doesn't give the readers any kind of idea what to expect from the thread. You might have just as easily been asking what those exclamation marks over NPC's heads are for! I've changed the title, so you can see what I mean.
