Glyphs for affliction

I remember reading a guide on the forums where different glyphs were used for different specs. I can't seem to find that post. Anyone remember or can direct me in the right direction. Thanks in advance

Does the Curse of Agony Glyph give you higher dps than then Corruption one, or just make your rotation easier?

Re: Glyphs for affliction

I'm sure threads like this were meant to bring more clarity to affliction locks, but after reading this one along with the other "glyphs for affliction" type threads, i'm just more confused.

it seems like everyone is mostly agreeing on Siphon Life, which i suppose i can understand (i use it myself). but in reading the other threads people are saying that the Curse of Agony glyph, Corruption glyph, UA glyph, Immolate, and even improved imp glyph are all "the best".... well that simply can't be....

does anyone have real answers for this now? rather than just stating "these are the best 3, period." I'm currently using Unstable Affliction, Corruption, and Siphon Life and have had no problem maintaining top 3 on most 25 man meters. but i'm all about doing a better job and doing more damage.

please shed some light! and back up your suggestions! i basically picked these because i could afford them and am in a spot now where i really need to be critiquing my toon

Re: Glyphs for affliction

That's because before 3.0.8, Imp Glyph was best, people didn't think of it though til a bit later and so Corruption was claimed to be one of the top 3. UA Glyph was never in the top 3 for Affliction until recently when people started getting geared up.

Right now its SL, Immo, and Curse of Agony/UA.

If you want hardcore math on this check out EJ's Glyph thread (Glyph Choice - Elitist Jerks), Namalia does a pretty good summary in Dots and you though (Dots and you: The Affliction Warlock Thread - Elitist Jerks).

Re: Glyphs for affliction

I might switch to sili soon, I'm not using agony though, because I don't use the curse often (it's rarely worth it). And UA doesn't imply it lowers GCD, making it useless. I'm using corruption, which is superb on mobility fights, and immo, and shadowbolt, which I'm going to switch out for sili when I log on shortly.

Re: Glyphs for affliction

So the UA glyph isn't worthwhile without haste? How much haste would you need to lower the GCD enough to make the UA glyph worthwhile?

Edit: Eh, doesn't matter... for deep affliction, SiLi / Immolate / Corruption are the winners. The UA glyph probably makes more sense in a PvP environment.
