Hi ![]() I hear everyone screaming that Glyph of Life Tap is a must have for my spec (0/41/30) and pretty much any other spec there is. Actually I'm running around with like 441 Spirit (so 20% of that would be 88sp) and if i swap, for istance, T7.5 robe with Heigan's i lose 72, dropping to 369 (and bonus to 74 )With numbers like this, is it worth ditching Glyph of Immolate for LT one? What amount of Spirit makes LT glyph worth using? How does the T7 4piece bonus affect this? Thanks

Re: Glyph of Life Tap: how much Spirit makes it worthwhile?
Well i read rearlier that 4t7 is needed for LT to have the benefits because the spirit from the 4p bonus 300spirit is applied first and then you get 20 percent out of it. So in reality when you life tap you would get 148 spl damage (748spirit) not too shabby. |

Note that the proc from life tap glyph lasts 20 sec (nearly 100% uptime) while the 4t7 proc is just for 10 sec (say 60% uptime), in raid conditions, you can easily count on 600 spirit on average, that is +120 spellpower. Right now, I think glyph of life tap is a little overevaluated, but it's still rather good. For your spec, the best glyphs would probably be incinerate, fg and lifetap. |

Re: Glyph of Life Tap: how much Spirit makes it worthwhile?
The spirit bonus from 4pT7 is only up for 8s, whereas the glyph is up for 20s. You only get that nice sp.pow bonus for 8s, the other 12s it drops down. In other words; the glyph is real time, it doesn't calculate the spirit/sp.pow convert on cast, it does it constantly. So you get 8s of awesome, and 12s of meh. You need to keep up 4pT7 proc for nice sp.pow, but even then that's only a tiny dps increase. In conclusion, the LT glyph is nice, and I recommend it, but it's overrated, and when you replace your T7 with T8 and lose the 4pT7, it's usefulness drops.

I think its wonderful. Standard 2717 spellpower, lifetap 2988. A gain of 271, and everytime I tested this the lifetap procs eventually set off my lightweave for an additional 250. Value may go down with T8, but still, this is a good little glyph. Besides, I use Meta, and felguard already; What else is there? Shadow Bolt? Immo? meh. |

Im running the 56/15 meta/ruin spec atm. I also will run a 0/53/18 spec(without Demonic Pact) and a deep destro. I dont use Life Tap......I wouldnt mind trying it but right it goes for 250g per and I am not paying that. Second....with either meta build my immo is one of my high damage dealers. Life Tapping doesnt always fit into rotations. Forcing Life Tap into your rotation just doesnt seem to be a dps gain at all and if it is, its minor. Certainly not worth 250g. I run Meta, Felguard and Immo glyphs and I find that to be enough. I'm hitting 5-6k dps as long as the tank doesnt move the damn boss closer to me while I am weaving....:( |

Hi, ok so I remover all my buffs including fel armor and found my t7 shoulders int he bank and put them on to get the 4set bonus. unbuffed 1882 sp fel armor 2247 sp life tap 2525 sp (4set bonus and glyph) after 8 secs 2370 sp Then I siwtched to my Mantle of the Locust unbuffed 1892 sp Fel Armor 2277sp Life tap 2415 sp so for 8 secs I gain 110 sp. If I work life tap into my rotation and cast it every 8 secs providing I have the 4set bonus. if I miss casting it I lose 45sp til i get the buff back up that is providing I get it back up in 12secs lol While in Ulduar last night i was going to try this but with improved life its not really possible is it. We only have so much health. But then I was thinking about something that someone wrote here somewhere.............use rank 1 to activate the buff? min health decrease every 8 secs to get the buff. Now my question is how to work into my rotation and is working into my rotation worth the effort? Can someone plz help me with this? |
