I'm a deep demo 'lock (0/58/13), the only Glyph I am using thus far is the Fel Guard Glyph. I'm having trouble deciding on the other two, I've narrowed my choices down to: - Glyph of Shadowflame (insane movement reduction, great for open world pvp/BG's) - Glyph of SL (One of the reasons I went so deep into Demo was to attempt to completely maximize my damage mitigation, this Glyph would only add to that). - Glyph of Meta (Gives me more time in Meta and reduced cool down..huge pvp implications) I'm somewhat leaning towards Shadowflame and Meta. I rarely ever use Shadowflame right now (just haven't gotten used to using it yet), but I see the huge potential and getting this Glyph will really put it front and center for me. In my opinion; of the three Meta is the no brainer for me. What do you guys think? |

You need to be clear what your goal is. PvP or PvE? Looks like you are building for PvP, so in that case Meta might be the way to go. For DPS you'd want Lifetap glyph, but if you are going for DPS you'd dump SL and Shadowflame glyphs as well for Immolate and Felguard.

Hey Leph...I've been running deep demo for PvE (raiding) dual spec deep demo at that. One spec with DP the other without as the raid needs. My glyphs are Life Tap, Fel Guard, and Meta. I figured the Meta and Immo glyphs would be close in DPS for this spec, but wouldn't mind if some others gave comments. Sorry if I derail the OP because it looks like he's asking for PvP glyphs, but heh...same general build...why not ask? |

I see what you are saying, I'm just a bit surprised that you would be so quick to dismiss a glyph (Shadowflame) with such huge implications against melee classes. So in essence, you would recommend Immolate, Meta and Felguard (for pvp). Here is my build (it's a bit different), i went 3 of 3 into Improved Demonic tactics because of how often the fell crit's. He crit's so much that Demonic Pact procs nonstop, it's pretty much up all the time. Do you see a weakness with this build? |

Sorry let me be clear: For PvP Shadowflame might be a great glyph. I'm not very knowledgeable about PvP, but it might be very good. Shadowflame, Meta, SL might be a great package for PvP, I'd certainly give it a try. With PvP you can't really theory craft it like you can with PvE, so the best plan is to try it and find out how it works for you and your play style. Where I say "dps" above I mean PvE. For PvE you want Felguard, Immolation, and Life Tap glyphs. --- Information Added --- Quote:

I play with meta destro a lot for pvp and I find that felguard and shadowflame are the two definites. To be honest I don't know if I really need the extra mitigation that the soul link gives you when your in meta form already, so currently I just have corruption as the 3rd glyph because I find the extra instant shadowbolt punch is quite useful for trying to finish off healers etc. I think a lot of it depends on what exactly you are trying to get out of the build as the others mentioned. Some talents and glyphs just lend themselves to fighting certain classes better. |

With that being said, I think you and I are thinking along the same lines. It's interesting that you bring up the question of damage mitigation with the SL Glyph with regard to Meta, because I would probably agree with you. I don't see how the 5% would be a difference maker, especially when you've already got the damage mitigation of going so deep into the demo tree to begin with. Also interesting to me that you prefer corruption Glyph to Meta Glyph, I'm not knocking it, but I'm curious why you think it is more advantageous than the Meta Glyph providing you with a shorter cool down along with the extra 6 seconds of meta form. |

They glyph doesn't reduce the cooldown, it only increases the duration for 6 seconds. Glyph of Metamorphosis - Item - World of Warcraft If it cut the cooldown on Immolation Aura so you could get two full casts of it in, that would be different. Then again in PvP an extra 6 seconds with that mitigation can be the difference between life and death. Oh where is my Demonic Leap? I wish that had made it into the final version of 3.1.

Re: Can't decide on my other two Glyphs, any suggestions
If you're trying to PvP with Meta I think you should respec. If you have to stay with Meta, though, Shadowflame/Shadowburn, SL, and Felguard are probably the glyphs you want. Meta damage is horrible when you throw CC into the mix so you need to be able to tank while waiting for the few CC-free seconds you will have in Demon Form to burst. Shadowflame isn't that great in my opinion. It's situationally useful. |
