What does everyone use? right now im using Soul Link, Immolate, and Searing pain. I used to use conflag, succy and soul link but the 1st two didnt make much sense to me. Im destro warlock so i want burst damage, i seduce alot of opponents which when using glyph of succy gets rid of DoTs. So this pretty much made glyph of conflag useless. And since i got no more DoTs 2 get rid of, glyph of succy made no sense either. The glyph of immolate is going to improve my burst damage because of conflag, so ill take that, and im going to be implementing searing pain more often, so ill take that as well since my normal crit with it is only 3k or so. Ill also try throwing in glyph of shadowflame, healthstone, and a couple others to try it. But as of right now im going to stick with SL, Immo, and Searing Pain glyphs. |

Soul link, immolate and conflag, but I'm going to try switching out immolate for shadowflame. An extra snare seems in theory much better to me than the extra damage for immolate/conflag, but I guess it depends on how accurate I actually am in hitting folks with shadowflame. How much success are you getting with the succy? I tried it at first with 3 points in improved succy, then switched back to felhound when people seemed to be shrugging off her seduces. I also toyed around the idea of using glyph of felhound instead of one of the others three as I've read elsewhere that in 1v1 or 2v2 situations (especially without a healer) it's a nice bonus. |

Re: pvp glyphs
I use succy all the time now. Im going to experiment not using the Improved succy talents and see how much it helps. I mostly use succy if its a 2 on 1 situation, or if their far away, or if a rogue came up behind me and im stunned. Id like to keep glyph of immo, just because it will help conflag that much more. My rotation will be something like immo>conflag>seduce>SF>cb>shadowfury>inc/searing pain>shadowburn. I just want to add more burst damage instead of having immo tick for another 1300 damage which doesnt really help anyway. So now ill have to open glyph spots which will help me alot more in my opinion. Also, i used to use felhunter with the glyph. It was very nice when you were facing a caster. you can make short work of them with felhunter, alot easier than you can with succy. The 1750 hp that i was getting back from my felhunter every like 10 seconds vs a caster was very helpful. I remember having a long battle with a mage just because my felhunter was keeping me alive. I ended up winning when his hp and mana were low and got a 8k crit wit cb to end it :D. Anyhow, Its gonna come down to your playstyle. Vs casters felhunter rocks. Devour and spell lock are just sick. I use succy to interupt casters wit seduce, but if they got bubble up, it doesnt work. Good luck! Last edited by Winkadoo; April 30, 2009 at 04:57 PM.. |

Re: pvp glyphs
Shadowflame (70% slow FTW), Soul Link (+5% DR combined w/ Fel Synergy to soak and keep your pet up) are what I use with any build. for the third, here's what I like: Aff- howl of Terror (20% reduction on cooldown) Demo- Felguard (+20% AP) or Meta (+20% uptime) Destro- Conflag (to keep immolate ticking) |

Re: pvp glyphs
k i switched to SL, IMMO(was suprised how much this did, so nuts), and healthstone. When i use it wit my bravemasters bravery, usually bout 9.5k heal. If it crits, its about 13-15k heal very niceee |

I unfortunately can't make a new thread, but I had a question or two about glyphs with PVP in mind... Haven't done Arenas on my lock, I would like to, but this is mainly about BG's and world pvp, such as it is. Is the immolate glyph really worth it? Does anyone have numbers from immolate or conflag before or after? If we're talking about ticks for 300 going to 330 that may be one thing because that's a lot more overall damage (pulling numbers out of thin air, I don't remember what my immo ticks for) but if we're talking about immolate doing 1200 over 15 seconds now doing 1320, thats NOT worth it at all imo. Especially since we have quite a few glyphs that are really good in PVP. Right now I am using corruption, which I was using to try to proc nightfall insta cast shadowbolts, but I am going to be switching it out. Using: Corruption Immolate Conflag I know conflag is a must have. What do you guys think the best other two glyphs are? I am seriously considering succubus and soul link, though again, 5% damage extra doesn't *seem* like a lot, but it might be. I just haven't run the numbers. I love shadowflame in principle, but it's situational and I rarely use shadowflame for some reason in PVP, so to me, it's probably either succy & soul link or succy and chaos bolt. I know these posts/threads are a dime a dozen and I will certainly continue reading, but the main point of this was to see if anyone had real numbers regarding the immolate glyph and if it's worth it for destruction/conflag. Thanks! |
