Malygos threat issues?
Hey all...just trying to see if I'm the only one with massive threat issues in this fight especially in 10 man. I roll a afflic with one point in imp drain soul and seem to be having to use soulshatter real early and then after the second vortex I'm already at max threat again! Anybody else having trouble? |

No, it's not only you. I usually stop throwing dots before the vortex and if I'm too close to the tank on the Omen, I focus more on killing the sparks, so the rest can freely dps the boss. When Malygos is around 70% I throw my soul shatter and then go all in. |

Malgy is one of the few fights I have aggro issues with as Affliction - the problem is: - I'm being boosted due to the sparks, the tank isn't. - My DoTs keep ticking while the tank is flailing around in the air. Even better (worse?), I can use the warlock teleport circle to get out of Vortext immediately, so I can continue DoT'ing up Malgy. If you have a Paladin, have them toss Hand of Salvation on you after the 80% mark. Try to save your Soul Shatter for the 70-80% mark. Get the 2% reduced threat cloak enchant. Put your DoTs on Malgy, then turn your shadow bolt fillers on the sparks (once positioned). |

In case you have bored warriors around, let them intervene you. 2 warriors on my raids take turns intervening me on several aggro-sensitive fights. It's 10% reduction of your total threat each time and helps loads on fights like Malygos, Sapphiron, KT, Heigan and Sarth adds when AEing.
