Hour of the Dragon is a newly formed guild on Sunstrider, thought I'd post an excerpt from our forums to see if it can generate any interest. Enjoy http://www.hourofthedragon.net

Hour of the Dragon Founding Philosophy

Hour of the Dragon is an initiative based on some simple ideas on how to organize a WoW gaming community that encourages guild participation in a team play oriented manner. The founding members have played WoW since release and have significant end-game experience as well as prior experience with running and organizing a guild. Thus we have learned some valuable lessons about what separates the really good guilds from the rest.
Currently Hour of the Dragon is kept alive by only a small handful of people that are searching for more players. Our initial aim is to recruit gamers that are interested in contributing to a mature and fun WoW community. We hold a belief in the idea of certain rules regarding social conduct within the guild that everyone complies with. That means members should grasp the basics of courtesy and altruism. Something we consider an important element in creating a friendly and helpful atmosphere within the guild.

Recruitment

In effect the recruitment process will be very thorough. This is to ensure that we only get the genuinely interested players that are in for the long haul. As it is impossible to provide any guarantee if Hour of the Dragon will stand the test of time, it rests on the dedication and patience of our members. However we have seen guilds grow from nothing before, sadly just for the wrong reasons - which often includes mass recruitment and an immense pressure for raid progression. This usually leads to stagnation in the end and slowly the good players are picked up by the better guilds. We want to avoid this scenario by adapting to a slower rate of recruitment. In the end we find this to be the best approach because it provides officers and the rest of the guild a better opportunity to assess newcomers properly and really see if they fit in. We believe that a guild should be an engaging social arena as well as a meeting place for people that are interested in organized guild activities...
