Looking for a new server?

I'm in a bit of a dilemma at the moment.

I play on Zenedar (EU) and I've been guildless for the last month due to

1: Exam season
2: Certain differences in the guild I couldn't really tolerate any longer.

When exams end (which should be by the end of the month), I'm considering looking for another guild at the same kind of level that I'm currently at.

However all the guilds on my server are either: Struggling like hell to even get past 3/9 in BT (no thanks)

The guilds that are steadily on their way progressing through Black Temple and MH (Archimonde, RoS and further) are full on warlocks and are currently not recruiting.

The guilds that have finished BT a while ago are currently only working on sunwell at the moment (I would like to think that I have the skills to perform at that level but my gear would be the part that's letting me down since I never had the opportunity to collect gear)

Just to give you a general idea of my experience:

Pre MH/BT I tanked leotheras (was the only person in the guild who bothered to get the FR gear to tank him for ages)
Also tanked capernian.
I've also strider kited on and off on Vashj but it happened that the raid setup meant I would be more valuable killing elementals.
MH/BT attuned, (I've done Kael' and Vashj about 7 or 8 times in total getting everyone in the guild attuned in bits and pieces), 4/5 MH and 5/9 BT.
(I'm beginning to ask myself whether my experience is getting the better of me since I raided in my guild for almost a year without complaints, and suddenly I just kept asking myself why performance in the guild was so slack? I honestly don't know what made me tick. I found myself constantly out dpsing most of the dpsers in the guild, trying to get people to improve... I don't know. Anyway)

Have done the ZA bear run a couple of times (still waiting on my bear, been unlucky with rolls. (At least everytime we do it one less person to compete with hehe.)

Anyway my question is this:

Should I apply to the top end guilds on my server giving them all my credentials, and be put in the back seat until I can show them my performance?

Wait it out to see whether guilds that are at my level decide they want another warlock, OR

Look for another server? If the answer is to look for another server, how would I go about looking for a guild at my level, and is it worth it leaving behind all the friends and contacts i've made on the server i'm currently on, for another server who's future is unknown?

As much as everyone loves official forums... check them. You can see if some guilds there are recruiting and for what content/classes.

Personally, I'd check out what is available on your server and see where it goes. If you find that there really isn't anything left for you on the server you are on, then investigate others.

Maybe make a character on a possible server and ask in general/trade about the "top guilds" there.. then do some research on those guilds.

Just some thoughts. Hope you find what you are looking for.
