Former GL annoyed at people who left the guild
The whole thing began as someone caught something that had been said in chat and taken out of context. The person in question was an officer and he was /gkicked.
Many people stood up in his defense and the GL stood firm of his "buddy's" action which was completely wrong. So began a mass exodus. Over the next 2-3 days 50 members left the guild, most were top level officers who were very active and the biggest supporters of the lower level members. Many emptied their bag into the giuld vault before leaving too! I was thinking of bailing due to my seeing favoritism of "friends"/"Buddies" and the complete lack of organization (my biggest complaint). Although I wasn't a level 70 there were 25 who were and plus another 25-30 who were in their 60s. I kept seeing people bailing here and there after asking if the guild was raiding or if we were building pre-mades, end game stuff and getting no reply. I posted my concerns and they went unanswered. So I began to look half-heartedly. The guild was great for leveling. Lots of support there, 2 bank tabs, lots of people donating, and gold on request. We had a good chat and folks helping lower levels w/ getting camped, instances, quests, ect. Then the fall out. I wasn't going to bail but after chatting up one of the top officers I decided to look elsewhere. Just as I quit an old PVP aquaintance whispered me again about joining his Twink PVP guild. It was timing I guess so I joined. Then I found it was mainly alts and little activity. I missed my old guild mates then got a whisper from one of my freinds who joined the new guild and was invited in. It is full of the people who made the old guild what it was and I am happy ![]() Then everyone who left the guild began getting cussed out by the former GL. Sad. I placed him on ignore, but others haven't and keep getting cussed at all night by this guy. ![]() Too Much Drama. ![]() Thanks for listening. I guess as the song goes, " Breaking up is hard to do." ![]() |

Re: Former GL pissed @ people who left
He should be reported for harassment if he is continuing to "cuss" people out. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe he is warned and then banned if he doesn't stop.

Re: Former GL annoyed at people who left the guild
Oh, my! Guild drama FTL!
Yeah, a couple of months ago I left my old guild in search of greener pastures when my guild leaders went AFK for like a whole month and left me and my boyfriend in charge. They said they'd be off for 2 weeks, and after 2 additional weeks without so much as an IM saying "sorry for the delay," I'd had enough of trying to get people together for Kara. Recruiting was a mess and I had no access to anything that could possibly have improved that. So anyway, I left. Of course, like a day later, my old guild leader "suddenly" came back on to lecture me about how disappointed she was and how she thought I was loyal. She and I have patched things up and we're fine (I still never see her online, though) but that whole week was very stressful. And it only takes one or two well-liked players to leave a guild to start a landslide of qquits. But when it comes down to it anyway - it's your account. If your new guild makes you happy then don't even give your old GL a second thought. If he was good at the job, the whole guild wouldn't have left. I don't understand why your friends wouldn't also have him on ignore - unless of course they secretly enjoy the drama... |

Re: Former GL annoyed at people who left the guild
A very small statement that is so loaded with truth. I have been in 2 fairly large guilds (400-500ish) over the years, and there always seem to be a few officers who will push buttons in offficers chat on long dead issues and get people re-riled up.
Wish it wasn't so, but I believe there are some people who really get off on the drama for whatever bizarre reasons ![]() |

Re: Former GL annoyed at people who left the guild
I agree w/ everyone and sorry about the title (thanks for making it more appropriate). It is sad but it worked out as we have a pretty good group now. Recruiting is tighter as before it was pretty wide open.
I do not think that that the GL even had a clear understanding on what transpired, only he is backing the officer who kicked the other. Blind faith I guess. I was going to place him on ignore when I saw the $%$& coming across the screen. Then an hour later he whispers me, " Hey" I was thinking he wanted to have a civil conversation. Then he follows it up w/ more $%&# that is when I placed him on ignore. Sad. |
