Moving to East Coast Server
Greetings,
As I live on the east coast and have been dealing with latency issues playing on a server located in Seattle I've decided to move my character to a server out of Boston. I've identified all the realms in the Boston Data Center, checked which operate on EST and the population of each. Based on this I've narrowed the list down to 8 possible landing spots for my transfer. I've been trying to research the guilds on each, progress and recruitment. I know that no matter where I end up I will be able to find a guild, perhaps not one at the my current level though. Any input from members here who happen to be on these servers will be helpful in making my final decision. As this costs real money, not wow gold, I want as much information as possible before doing it. Good news or bad, possible guilds I can call home, whatever information you feel the need to share is appreciated. I raid regularly in my current guild, we have 1 boss down in Hyjal, 4 in SSC, 2 in TK and have seen other bosses. My gear is kara/badge/money epics with 203 hit, 1200 Sdmg self buffed. I am an adult who works 40 hours a week, so I can't raid until 3am every day, but I do enjoy 25 mans. My amory page is: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-s...assil&n=Geepah The servers I've identified are: Delaran, Khadgar, Norgrannon, Tanaris, Turalyon, Uldaman, Undermine, Ysersa |

Re: Moving to East Coast Server
I live in Connecticut and find I get a latency of 86 on average from Malfurion (pve). It's CST tho.
Just thought I'd add. |

Re: Moving to East Coast Server
There were a number of servers I didn't mention because they didn't meet my criteria. I'm looking for a server on EST, PVE with medium population. The 8 I listed are what I'm considering. The information on Skullcrusher and Malfurion is helpful because I can see what server they are on and compare the ones from my list.
As locks seem to always be in low demand guild wise. I guess I'll just have to pick one and hope for the best. |

Re: Moving to East Coast Server
Yes, it runs on EST but the server is physically located in Dallas TX. I am in Maine so I would be running into the same latency issues. Thats why I identified servers that are physically located in Boston. But thanks for the information.

Re: Moving to East Coast Server
Currently on Dalaran, good response times to Philadelphia area FWIW.
In a great social-casual guild; (Arkham Academy) currently Kara and ZA running. Respectful of late nights and no firm commitments to having to run (very casual, but with a dedicated raid leader and regular runs scheduled and made). |

Re: Moving to East Coast Server
Great info. I'm on Long Island and have been having latency issues as well w/ Alexstrasza. on a good day, i'm around 180-200. a real bad day is 500+. i've even seen spikes up to 900. ewww. . . .
how did you go about finding where the server was located? is it readily available? is it staring me in the face on the selection screen and i just never paid attention to it? time to start convincing my friends to make the transfer with me. lol |
