Wanting guild on EC server

Hi folks!

I have a small story that I am lucky enough to be able to post here on the most helpful site that exists in WoW.

My wife and I (she is a hunter and is excited about getting to 70 - shes 52 now) have latency problems and cannot seem to find a fitting guild that stays together. Unfortunately, this has caused me to not play WoW in around 3-4 weeks now because my guild fell apart. But I am loyal and have not left yet - I put a significant amount of energy and money into it. But the fact is, I stopped progressing in the game and became dejected about it.

Therefore I told her that the best thing we can do is post here to find a guild willing to take us and that is on a east coast server and just do character transfers to that realm. I knew this would be the answer.

So anyways, I am able to go to kara and can hold my own (using TWD strats!) but not completely epiced out yet. However, I am not a purple chaser - I like to have fun with my guild. I know the gear will come (by reading CP's gear guide ). I guess I am just not a hardcore raider - I love to do instances with friends but have been unable to do many. I lvled to 70 in under a month and never did any PvP or dungeons, so I got no experience while lvling (and currently have very little rep). I also dig helping guildies level (or whatever) whether they are alts or onlys.

My wife does not want to be a 'hunt-ard', she is a doctor in RL and likes to research her class and practice playing correctly. ETA to 58 is 1-2 weeks. I will then start helping her level in the outlands (and hopefully we will find a guild that likes running some non-heroics).

If anyone can help me in this endeavor I and my wife would be ETERNALLY grateful, as this is a subscription-breaking time in our WoW career.

Thanx!

Re: Wanting guild on EC server

Are you looking for a server transfer or just a new guild on your current realm? If you are looking to transfer, come to my realm (Durotan). I started my guild about 2 months ago and we are looking for at least 5 more mature people to start Kara with in the next month or so. We are a small guild but we run instances about twice per week (non-heroic).

I posted a guild recruitment on this site a couple of weeks ago, if you are interested give it a look (under server relations thread). We are east coast time, however I live in mountain time zone and most of the others on the realm live in pacific time.

Let me know if you are interested, but if not, good luck as its always more fun playing when you know others and can play with them.

Re: Wanting guild on EC server

Were always looking for new / mature (21+) players. We are on frostmane, so not on a east coast server.

Guild name is Eternal Guardians, we have around 80 some active members.

We are a casual raiding guild and also a family guild (hubs, wife, brothers ...)

Got T4 content on farm, TK 3/4, Za cleared many times. This said, I know your gear is not up to par, but I rather have mature / active players, then geared with bad attitude. We can gear you fast ...

You're welcome to create a alt on Frostmaine ... so we can talk

Honestly I would say to really just find a East coast server and hop on over there will be tons of guilds looking for more all the time i wouldnt worry about heading into a specific one that fast. Get to knwo a couple of them do some PuGs and find a good group. Thats what I had to do when I switched to my new realm.

I love the guild Im in and the players btw its an Eastcoast sever Tanaris

Thank VERY much for these replies as they really show what kind of people are here in the forums. In the official forums I would get spammed or made fun of.

@Roma:
Unfortunately, we are really looking to change to a EC server as our ISP doesn't play nice with ANYTHING past Atlanta. I am very sure of this as I use to be a Internet Services manager and have done extensive testing. Maybe when we move to a different provider our predicament will change.

@tireghali:
Sounds great except Frostmane is also not EC. The other big problem is my wife and I don't PvP at all, as the only PvP event we can tolerate is WSG, and that only for maybe a couple of matches.

What sucks here is it looks like I am being haughty and picky, but really I just need to ensure that I get a Boston (EC) server (thats not PvP ).

I am really starting to worry that our time with WoW is coming to an end - I have been using this time to try to find a guild on my server with no luck.
Thanx to any and all who have racked their brains for me on this one.

Re: Wanting guild on EC server

I would strongly recommend you to do what Darksumone suggested.

Basically...

1. Look for a realm associated with the Boston data center; the link below will provide a list of realms in the East Coast governed by the Boston data center:

US realm list by datacenter - WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft

2. Visit speedtest.com to do an ISP speed/latency test and pick the realm with the lowest latency

3. Create an alt on that realm to actually gauge your latency and to survey what the realm is like socially and economically. The wowwiki website does a really good job of providing an overview of each realm in term of populations, guilds, and progressions.

4. Do the character transfer when you find something tailoring to your need.

Regards and good luck.

Re: Wanting guild on EC server

If you want to give Smolderthorn a try my guild would probably accept you. We have 2 Kara groups going at the moment, and will be getting into 25-man content soon. As for helping her level, my g/f and I(whose main are also lock and hunter, lol) are working our alts through Outland now. She is a pally tank, and I am a Shammie healer. We are leveling exclusively via Instance, so you guys could come along. Also, seeing as my g/f knows the Hunter class very well, if your wife needed any advice, she would be happy to help and explain the details of not being a Hunter.

Sorry about that. After looking at the server locations (great link from Freelancer), I realized that all 3 of my realms are out of Dallas.
